upon return to mjm engines, after going to Mazda and learning that the problem was a problem mjm should have known about, and should have informed me about, the shop manager became verbally abusive, and unprofessionalhe proceeded to call me "spineless" on several occasions, and "less than a man" for "going behind his back" and contacting the Revdex.com I had asked him the last time is was there on July 6, 2015, to give me an estimate of the cost of getting the car to run properly, that was the third time I was there, no replySo even though, he found an issue the installer missed during the reinstall, it was a very minor problem, that *** auto fixed with no questions and very quicklyI then again, returned to mjm and he continued to make more excuses, instead of acting urgently to solve the problem that's when I went to Mazdathat's when mjm told me to purchase a vvt pulleyAfter waiting for the part to come, of which, he had an opportunity to order quicker than myself, he proceeded to "stall" on fixing the car because I have called the finance company to also complainhis reasoning was "he had received what amounted to a charge-back from the finance company" which in fact, it was only an investigation letterhe is willing lie to make his unprofessional behavior validI have spoken to no less that three other Mazda mechanics, of which all three had relayed to me the problem with this car was inside the engine, so whether or not the vvt was the problem he had a duty to inform me of the potential problem, then he let me chase my tail, all the while knowing what the problem was, NEVER, offering to fix it, even when I agreed to payIn the more that thirty years dealing with any business, I have never been called out of my name, told they would stall or should stall on a repairI will be contacting all the other licencing agencies to report this insane and ridicules behaviorI have already contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair to do a thorough investigation of this repairat this moment I really dont trust the car will run properly I wll also be forwarding a copy of this letter to any othersThis shop should NOT have a Revdex.com, rating, let alone an "A" here is a copy of a yelp complaint which shows the berating behavior of the manager..2/11/Do not bring your business here, paid over $for a motor rebuild, vehicle broke down on the side of the road not even miles/days laterThey refused any responsibility and wanted to charge another $to repair what should have been replaced the first timeAfter trying to negotiate with *** the manager, he became very insulting and disrespectful and pretty much told me to *** off. I Took my Toyota truck into MJM engines in Escondido for a total rebuild on the V- plan was yours to restore like new and the engine was the first step Within days I had to take it back in for a leak which they repaired no charge Few months later I notice oil leak and drove vehicle down to Mechanic who works on my diesel truck .call me back and asked me what the *** is going on everything looks new told him it wasWas informed they used wrong seal on the rear main seal that's what was causing oil leak ! Call Mike the manager and ask him what the heck was going on ? .He wanted me to drive the vehicle out to him with an oil leak ! I paid arm and leg on engine I was not going to be driving anywhere with an oil leak ! I paid out-of-pocket to have problems fixed ! Then on September is on my way to have new shocks put on the truck where it would finally be completed Less thenmiles from my house for the loud boom coolant shot all over the windshield smoke everywhere pulled to the side of road Called AAA to have a vehicle towed to MJMengines then called MJM engines Was told rather rudely not to have the vehicle towed out here because they didn't have room for it ? Ask Mike the manager when my supposed to do leave it on the side of the roadSaid he didn't care just don't bring it thereSo I had vehicle towed to auto services in Oceanside General consensus from every mechanic was the engine was blown was hooked up to computer and confirmed ! Mike from MJM engines call back saying they made room for me .And I can have the vehicle towed back out there So since I knew it was a blown engine and under warranty vehicle towed back out there Tow truck driver got there before I did they wear on break Wouldn't move anything so he could unload the vehicle so we had to stand around for a little while finally got the vehicle unloaded Then was informed by Mike the manager for me not to expect him to get on this anytime soon Guys a piece of work Week to days later they finally called back and said they don't think it's a warranty issue ! They think it's a radiator even know they put a new radiator in when they did the full rebuild.Then to add insult to injury he they wanted to charge me an inspection fee to open up the engine and confirm it And this is on a engine they rebuild ! I have to pay to see what they didn't do right ! It was at this point I inform Mike the manager whatever you other mechanic had told me and I wanted to second opinion I contacted BAR to there credit they tried ! You could have a total engine rebuild done just like I did and in the FinePrint after days you have an oil leak it's not covered .I guess that mile commute to work is just too much for an engine they rebuilt good grief ! Warranty not worth the paper it's written on folks! He's got every out not to do the right thing !

Brought my dead Jeep CJfor a quick-turn engine rebuildMJM completed the rebuild on-time and kept me apprised of the entire effort throughout the buildConsultation on replacement parts and peripherals was direct and simpleBrought them a carb I sourcedThey installed it and the motor cranked first tryMotor has already pulled me through days of Baand running strong!

Spoke with both Mikes on the phone re my F450 blown V10 6.8L gas engine. Both were very courteous, knowledgeable and understanding on the phone. While I haven't brought my truck in to shop yet for service, I likely will choose this shop based upon my experience on the telephone. Clearly this business is run by two gentlemen.

I have had a Very Positive and Rewarding Experience with MJM Engines. I have a diesel truck and was towing my trailer out to the desert to have some fun when an engine problem developed. Went to the Ford Dealer, they told me what they thought was the issue; I purchased the parts they recommended. I am a motor head and was not quite comfortable with what the Ford Dealer was telling me, that I had turbo issues. I decided to call an engine guy, in this case it happen to be MJM Engines, I had heard of them before. After talking with them for a while I could tell they knew engines. I had my truck towed from the desert to MJM. They told me the engine had excessive blow by and most likely had burnt a hole into a piston. I gave them approval, sure enough that was the issue. I have driven the truck several months now and I am very happy, the engine is stronger than ever. I know if there is ever an issue, MJM Engines will back me up 100%

In regards to Mr. [redacted]s most recent complaint:
A request for an estimate to get the car to “run properly”
was not possible without further diagnostic. MJM Was not given enough time with
the vehicle to perform this diagnostic. Without knowing the full nature of the
problem we were unable to offer a solution. Not willing to wait the Mr. [redacted] then
had Mazda diagnose the vehicle.
Mr. [redacted] contacted MJM saying that Mazda had diagnosed the
problem as being the VVT sprocket. At this point MJM offered to supply the
labor to replace the suggested parts at no cost to Mr. [redacted] and offered to
allow Mr. [redacted] to supply his own parts.
Mr. [redacted] states in his complaint that MJM is “stalling” on
completing the repair, when in fact MJM had not received all the parts supplied
by Mr. [redacted] until late in the day on Friday July 17th.  Because of the nature of the repair and the
late hour of delivery of the parts required, MJM was unable to finish the
repairs same day. MJM Engine is closed on the weekends and is working on the
vehicle today: July 20, 2015
This afternoon, Monday July 20, 2015, MJM completed the
installation of the parts requested by Mr. [redacted]. Once the engine was running
MJM found that replacing these parts has not made any effect on the way the
engine runs. Authorization was obtained from Mr. [redacted] for MJM to remove the
intake manifold for inspection. MJM found that the fuel injectors had been
installed incorrectly: missing seals and cross threaded bolts not installed all
the way. Upon the vehicles original visit to MJM we told Mr. [redacted] that there
was an issue with the installation, and that it needed to be looked at by the
original installer. It seems this was not done.
As mentioned in our last response and this one; we are replacing
the parts that the dealership has recommended. We are doing our best to help
Mr. [redacted].

Review: I HAD MJM REBUILD AN ENGINE FOR ME AS A CARRY OUT. THEY INSTALLED THE OIL AND WATER PUMP. FOR A WHILE EVERY THING WAS GREAT THEN MY ENGINE STARTED LEAKING A LOT. I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE WARRANTY AND THEY SAID IT DOES NOT COVER LABOR IN THIS SERRANO. I HAD A SHOP LOOK AT MY VEHICLE AND LET ME KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. THEY FOUND THAT THE OIL PUMP WAS LEAKING AT THE BLOCK AND MJM INSTALLED THE OIL PUMP. BEFORE I HAD THE WORK DONE I CALL MJM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY DO NOT COVER LABOR ON THIS ENGINE I COULD BRING IN THE ENGINE IN ONLY OR PAY THEIR LABOR RATE WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN $375 AND THEY DID NOT SAY THAT IF THEY FOUND SOMETHING WRONG WITH WHAT THEY DID THAT THEY WOULD COVER THE COST. I DID NOT LIKE THE RESPONSE SO I HAD ALLEN'S AUTO IN VISTA DO THE WORK. WHEN THEY GOT THE PUMP OFF THEN ALLEN'S CALLED ME IN TO LOOK AT IT. THE GASKET THAT MJM PUT ON WAS NOT PLACED RIGHT IT OVER LAPPED THE OIL PASSAGE HOLES AND I TOOK PIC'S WITH MY CELL PHONE. IF THE GASKET HAD BEEN PLACED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME THE OIL PUMP WOULD NEVER HAVE HAD LEAKED. I SENT THE PIC'S TO MJM AND THEY STILL SAID THEY DO NOT COVER LABOR TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING AT THE BLOCK PRETTY BAD, THE WATER PUMP WAS MY NEW WATER PUMP, BUT THEY INSTALLED IT BECAUSE IT NEEDED TO BE IN PLACE TO PUT THE TIMING COMPONENTS TOGETHER. I FEEL THAT BECAUSE I DID NOT GET THE ENGINE INSTALLED FROM THEM THEY DID A HALF [redacted] JOB ON INSTALLING THE EXTERIOR COMPONENTS ON THE ENGINE. IF MJM HAD DONE THEIR JOB RIGHT I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO PAY $350 TO HAVE THE SAME WORK REDONE. THE FAILURE WAS WITH WHAT MJM INSTALLED AND NOT WHAT I INSTALLED.Desired Settlement: I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD PAY FOR ALL OF THE LABOR TO FIX WHAT THEY DID NOT DO RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
