Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2015/10/16) */ *SEE ATTACHED [redacted] Smedley Transmission Service [redacted] Wednesday October 7, This letter is in response to case # [redacted] I apologize for not being able to respond quickerWe had a death in the family and I was out of town for days Mrs [redacted] is correct in stating that we did not get her car repaired in the time frame expectedUnfortunately on rare occasion this type of problem does arise in the automotive repair business Mrs [redacted] 's car came in with a no reverse gear problem and as per the enclosed estimate it would take a transmission overhaul to repair itThis was not the case, after having the transmission in and out of the car times and calls to our trade association (ATSG) technical department it was determined that the original transmission had an internal crack or cross leak in the case causing the original problem and that it was not able to be overhauled At that point we had to obtain another transmission to overhaulThis was done at no extra charge to Mrs [redacted] or to PRC During the time that Mrs [redacted] 's car was at our shop we worked on it diligently trying to repair it as soon as possibleWe worked on it everyday Monday thru Friday during business hoursI also came in after hours on Saturdays 9/12/and 9/19/to work on it While Mrs [redacted] 's car was at our shop, as an extra service and at no charge we repaired a front right wheel bearing, replaced the transmission cooler lines, repaired a broken wiring harness and before giving her car back I hand washed it and put in $worth of gasoline She did not ask me to do all of this; I just wanted to do something to help out for the inconvenience created by not getting the car repaired in the time frame originally expectedI feel we did everything possible in getting the car fixed as quick as we could under the circumstancePlease feel free to contact me directly with any questions concerning this matter Brian Smedley Smedley Transmission Service [redacted]
