Review: I brought my car in to M + M auto repair for a brake job on both front and rear brakes which the shop agreed to do for a fee. The completed the work, and the first day after the car was returned to me I noticed a very loud groaning sound when the car was started at low speed, coming from the rear area. This noise was not there before they worked on the car.I took the car back to the shop and asked them to check the rear brakes for proper workmanship. I few hours later they phoned and said the brakes in the rear were fine, but there was a noise coming from the struts, which the mechanic said was the real source of the problem. I let them do the additional work. Within a few hours after the additional repair was completed it became obvious that the sound was still there and the struts were not in any way connected to the problem. At this point it became obvious to me that they did not have any idea what the sound was so I took the car to the dealers shop to see if they could find the problemThe dealer said the sound was from the new brakes and occurred because the mechanics at M + M used low grade inferior parts instead of genuine Toyota parts. They also indicated the quality of the installation was low, and said the other mechanic did not properly align the parts, did not turn the rotors and left whole parts off the brake job called a shim kit. These parts are specifically designed to reduce vibration and noise. I allowed the dealer to make repairs at a cost of $251 to me, and the noise was completely eliminated, and the car rode as smoothly as ever. I then went back to M +M and talked to the owner, telling him that they had not only botched the brake job, but misdiagnosed the problem, then installed struts that didnt need changing. Total cost from M +M was $600. When I asked for a refund the manager became defensive and said there was nothing he could do. In other words, he wouldnt stand behind his guarantee on parts and labor.Desired Settlement: This auto repair shop failed the test. At best their workmanship was incompetent and incomplete, and their follow up and diagnoses were inept and bungling. Their failure to stand by their guarantee is tantamount to breach of contract. I am still asking the provider for a full refund of the $ 250 for the worthless brake job they did. There may be a legal question about his web site which clearly shows he accepts Major credit card when in fact he doesn't.
