We are responding to a complaint you received from **. [redacted]. We are a family business owned and operated for over 40 Years and apreciate all of our customers and take an complaint serious . In Response to [redacted] complaints, His truck came to our shop not running and was towed by a tow truck at the end of April 2012. The following repairs were completed at M&M Classic Touch: Replace motor, Lockset, Belt, Pull Tensor, Replace Battery Cable Wire, 3 Bottle Anti Freeze, Used Battery, Trans Fluid, Spark Plugs, Oil Fliter, Cap rotor, Starter, 4 Used Tires, Inspection, Head light, Caboraitor, wiper motor, brain, Res. Bottle, drop gas tank to be cleaned and have rust removed, added 5 Gallons of gas, wiper motor, front calibers, brake line, Bottle brake Fluid.
There are additonal repairs that we completed that **. [redacted] didn't Mention, they are: We had the truck painted and added all new food logos to his truck, additonal plumbing work totaling 5500.00 which he has a remaining Balance of 5380.00.
**. [redacted] Came to us with his lunch truck which needed a lot of work. It basically needed a complete over haul because it had sat on a lot for quite some time. M&M Had agreed to take on this job. As Stated in **. [redacted] Letter, he had some financial difficulties and we have been very helpful during that time.
After **. [redacted] got all the mechanical work completed. He could not afford to get his vending Licsence from the city of philadeiphia, so we helped **. [redacted] find a storage place for him to store his truck, it was to be $100.00 a month for 7months, but he could not afford that so the storage [redacted] agreed to accept $500.00 for the 7 months of storage. After the 7 months he did not have the money to continue to store the truck. So he called and M&M we agreed to help him out and store his truck on our lot. After 90 Days (September 2013) **. [redacted] came with his Vending License and ask could he take life truck. M &M Classic Touch agreed to once again help him out and not charge any storage fee and allow him to take his truck even though he had a balance of $380.00 for the plumbing work. We released the truck in Good Faith that he would return and pay the balance.
In response to **. [redacted] speaking to the manager, He did not speak to him (manager) on the day he called he spoke to the secretary.
She never told him "That's why the truck was given back to you like that because you have a balance,” we are a professional business place and do not speak to our customer in that manner.
M & M Response to **. [redacted] compliants:
In response to his complaint About the battery; He knew he was purchasing a used battery the cost was $70.00, because He could not afford a new Battery. The wire and battery post were new. Also, because **. [redacted] has let his truck sit for over 10 months without starting it on a regular basics, this could have caused his used battery cells to die out
There is no warrenty on used batteries and are not responsible to replace a used battery. in respsonse to his complaint of the headlight it has blown and M&M will replace it.
In respsonse to the brake we only worked on the front brakes and are not responsible for rear brakes.
We also, would like for **. [redacted] to pay his past due balance of $380.00.
We would also like to mention in this letter that **. [redacted] Food Truck is now located [redacted].. Pa. [redacted] parked on that
street it is not in a Storage Location. M&M Classic Touch Does not want to be responsible for **. [redacted] Truck. Because, this is not a safe storeage location for his Food Truck it should be parked in an in door storage lot or garage. This is not in a good area of the city of
Philadelphia. Any question please contact **. [redacted].
Review: I HAVE FREQUENTED THIS REPAIR SHOP SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO MY HOME, TODAY I NOTICED A PATTERN OF FIX ONE THING COME RIGHT BACK AND REPAIR ANOTHER. MY CAR WOULDN'T START TODAY SO I HAD IT TOWED TO M & M AUTO REPAIR, THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A STARTER. I PAID 210.00 DOLLARS FOR THE STARTER. I CALLED, AND THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS REPAIRED. THE VERY FIRST TIME I STARTED THE CAR AT THE SHOP IT WOULD'NT TURN OVER. THE CAR EVENTUALLY STARTED. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME YOU MIT NEED A NEW IGNITION, NO APOLOGY OR REASON FOR THE MISS DIAGNOSES. I LEFT ANGRY AND DISPLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. AS I DROVE AWAY MY CAR BEGIN TO DRAG AS IF THE BREAKS WAS HOLDING. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD USED THE EMERGENCY BREAK WHILE TOWING EARLIER. I CAME BACK AND COMPLAINED, THE MECHANIC TOOK THE LEFT SIDE WHEEL OFF THE CAR AND DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD REPAIR ON THE BREAK CALIBER, USING THE EMERGENCY BREAK CAUSED THE BREAK TO TIGHTEN AND NOT RELEASE. WHAT HE FAILED TO REALIZE IS HE "REPAIRED AND REPLACED" THE CALIBER AFTER ANOTHER MECHANIC AT M & M AUTO REPAIR SHOP FORGOT TO OIL THE PIN WHEN REPLACING THE BACK BREAKS, CAUSING THE CALIBER TO LOCK AND NOT RELEASE. I GAVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE AFTER SUCH A EPIC FAIL AT PUTTING NEW BACK BREAKS ON (1 YEAR AGO). I'M STARTING TO BELIEVE THESE ARE NOT (LICENSED MECHANICS). THEY ARE CAUSING PEOPLE LOTS OF FINANCIAL STRAIN WITH AUTO REPAIRS THAT THEY CAN NOT DIAGNOSE CORRECTLY AND REPAIR CORRECTLY. SO NOW I'M FACED WITH A PROBLEM I PAID TO BE FIXED AND STILL HAVE, AND A OLD PROBLEM THEY CAUSED AND NEVER REPAIRED CORRECTLY. THIS IS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SAY THE LEAST. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS BUSINESS SO THAT OTHERS WON'T SUFFER THE FINANCIAL LOST I HAVE WITH THIS AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS.Desired Settlement: I WANT THIS SHOP INSPECTED BY THE PROPER SOURCES, TO INSURE THIS ARE PROPERLY LICENSED MECHANICS, AND I WOULD LIKE A REFUND ON THE LABOR I PAID FOR BOTH IMPROPERLY REPAIRED JOBS I PAID THEM A TOTAL OF 270.00 IN LABOR.
This letter is in response to a complaint that B.B.B. receives from **. [redacted]. M& M Classic Touch is a family business and has been family owned and operated for over 47 yrs. In 2006 the business name was changed but it still has remained family owned, our business has a certified licensed employee who inspects vehicles ([redacted]) Attached is a copy of his Emissions Inspector Lie. & Certified Inspection Mechanic Lic., We strive to provide outstanding customer service to all of our customers.
In receiving this letter is when we found out that **. [redacted] was unsatisfied with our services. He never returned to our shop to let us know that there was anything wrong.
**. [redacted] vehicle was brought to our shop by AAA towing service. **. [redacted] vehicle came to our shop not running. After the mechanic ([redacted]) inspected the Vehicle we let **. [redacted] know that he would need a Starter and we would let him know if the vehicle would need any additional repair we would not ty him. M&M order him a new starter and replaced his starter. This starter comes with a lifetime Warrenty. We also recommended that he would also need to replace the ignition because it gave us difficulty when starting the car. [redacted] vehicle came into the shop not running and when he left the shop tie car was running.
**. [redacted] did leave the shop and return back 20mins later he said that he seen smoke coming out the right rear tire. The Mechanic ([redacted]) check the tire and wheel let **. [redacted] knuw that AAA Towing must have place the Emergency Brake on when towing the Vehicle and the Braking system Locked. The Mechanic ([redacted]) Released the Emergency Brake for **. [redacted] at no charge.
If [redacted] is having problems with his Emergency brake system or rear right tire he should contacting AAA Towing.
M&M Classic Touch has never had any complaints brought to our attention by **, [redacted]. If he had any problem with our services we would have addressed the problem. As far as the other problems **. [redacted] mentioned in his letter we have no knowledge of any of them. **. [redacted] did have his rear break Caliber replaced over a year ago and we never had a complaint from **, [redacted]. I believe **. [redacted] is trying to defraud our business and just get money from us.
M&M Classic Touch Auto Repair, repaired the Starter on **. [redacted] Vehicle and it has a Life Time Warranty if **. [redacted] has any problems with this repair we will be glad to servirp his vehicle. We have fixed thb problem the car was diagnosed with and have not done anything wrong to **. [redacted] vehicle. I am rejecting this response because: THERE IS NO REAL APOLOGY IN M & M AUTO'S RESPONSE. I AM A VERY FORGIVING AND UNDERSTANDING PERSON. I WILL GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DO. THE STAFF AT M & M AUTO REPAIR WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. BUT I WAS EXTREMELY DISPLEASED WITH THE SERVICE PROVIDED. ONCE I RETURNED TO THE BUSINESS AND EXPLAINED THE CAR WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY GAVE ME LITTLE TO NO EXPLANATION OR ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION TO FIXING THE PROBLEM. (THEY JUST STOOD THERE SILENT, UNTIL I LEFT). I WISH THERE BUSINESS WELL AND I HARBOR NO ILL WILL TOWARD THEM. I PERSONALLY WILL NOT BE PATRONIZING THERE BUSINESS EVER AGAIN. IT WAS A COSTLY LESSON, BUT NEVER THE LESS A LESSON LEARNED. I AM JUDGING ONLY MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BUSINESS, I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HAVING MY CAR SERVICED AT M & M AUTO REPAIR. FRIENDLY STAFF, VERY PERSONABLE, BUT HORRIBLE WORK. I WOULD HAVE GREATLY APPRECIATED AN APOLOGY FOR THE MISDIAGNOSIS OF MY PROBLEM AND A ATTEMPT AT TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT I RECEIVED NEITHER. SINCE THEN I HAD MY CAR ISSUE RESOLVED, TURNS OUT IT WAS JUST A BATTERY ISSUE. IF I HAD CONTINUED WITH M & M THEY WOULD HAVE HAD ME REPLACE THE STARTER, ALTERNATOR, KEY IGNITION SWITCH AND PROBABLY FINALLY THE ENGINE.
