M & M Moving Reviews (%countItem)

M&M Moving made our move during these challenging covid-19 times an excellent experience! In short: excellent service, guaranteed quote, careful treatment of furniture and home, excellent price.

The longer version: As we were selling our home we received scores of ads from moving companies but Brent R. and his team clearly stood apart. He provided the most reasonable quote and was the only company willing to move our home within a single day (others wanted to store our items overnight and deliver the next day). Importantly he provided a guarantee that the final price would not exceed 15% additional cost if they went overtime - no other company provided this assurance.

On the day of the move we received two trucks and five movers, who not only moved our home to another town one day, but completed the job in less time than anticipated. Thus, our final cost was actually below the quote the Brent had provided. This is truly outstanding, as our previous experience with other companies involved workers taking long brakes trying to stretch their hourly wages to the max.

*** would use them again in future (although we hope to stay where we are for years to come:)

Thanks Ruth and Doc, much appreciated! Wish you all the best with your medical practice. Brent Owner

I forgot to mention I was glad we saved you over $2,400.00 as compared to a large moving company you received. Brent

I used M&M moving for my sale in January .
Brent was kind enough to source moving boxes and tape for me that he delivered to my door. They arranged storage for me all hassle free. I finally found a new home with a closing during the Covid pandemic. I was assured they were still operating and not to worry.
Both moves were seamless with a very professional and courteous crew

Thanks Colleen! I know you were concerned about moving out of storage during the pandemic, the guys have been doing great during Covid 19 moves. Also glad we saved you money compared to your other quotes. Thanks again Brent

On time for the price quoted, polite, hard working team. ***. Brian

Thanks Brian! People normally don't take the time to do a review when happy. Glad we saved you money from the big guys! Brent Owner

M & M Movers were amazing! From our initial contact with Brent, we were impressed. We got quotes from several companies, but Brent's was straightforward, thorough and without hidden costs. The 5 person crew on moving day, headed by Mo, were professional and courteous. It was a long, hot day, and the crew got the job done without one thing going astray or getting broken. Moving is always stressful, but it was made much easier having a calm, hard working and competent team handle the move.

Thanks Jonty, ***, everything doesn't always go perfect but rarely does anything major go wrong on moves with good movers. Mo said you guys were great, understanding about the long day, tipped the movers, got them food, offered your pool to them, knew their names, sadly somepeople don't treat movers as human beings. Thanks again Brent

I had a most terrible experience with M&M Movers and the owner Brent R. Although the promotional material is effective there is no substance behind this!
My deposit cheque was payable to M&M but the the movers and trucks were from Top Movers. Also the final cheque for a job NOT completed at 1 AM was payable to Tip Movers. No mention as to why? Despite packing completed by a retired packer of an international moving company, it was apparently wrong. There was no direction as to how to pack. Movers arrived 1hr and fifteen minutes late at 10:15 am for a move that was to take 17.25 hr in one day! Who would schedule men to work those long hours in the heat and darkness?
As a result there was thousands of dollars damage to furniture, appliances, walls and floors. The so called "insurance" is Brent deciding if he wishes to pay or not! Still be pursued.... Windows which were opened by the movers at the original house were left open along with empty bottles and waste left inside and outside the house. Oil stains on the newly surfaced driveway. Two personal trips were needed to bring items left behind. The men were exhausted by 11pm and then quickly unloaded items marked for areas in the house into tje garage. I had to distribute them. Beds and a couch were left in pieces. Furniture was still wrapped in plastic with the moving blankets attached when the movers left. They couldn't get out of there fast enough. A bad bad experience.

M & M Moving Response • Jul 27, 2019

I have 8 moving crews, changes would be made if necessary. This is an isolated review in the last 4 yrs on any site about damages. 'Thousands of Dollars of Damages' 1. Floors, 2.5 inch scratch reported 1 wk after move, his estimate for a pro to repair $100.00, that is the total damages to floors according to customer 2. Appliances, 1 wk after move, door will not close properly on microwave, packed by his international packer ( if true) , that's it for appliances. 3. Furniture, $60.00 for leg broken on chair ( true) $20.00 for broken glass on 1 picture ( true) $20.00 for lost bed slats ( false, nothing was left on truck) Scratches on headboard reported 1 week later ( unknown if pre-existing, customer abandoned move when loading , no one at house against my strong advice, I will unfortunately pay this) this is the extent of damage to furniture.5 Damage to walls, 1 wall was marked going through a door way in the basement when moving a heavy refrigerator ,very tight, minor repair. 6. Oil Stains, this is totally false, trucks are inspected monthly by MTO, no mention of Oil Stains on any email with this customer, this review is the first time this is mentioned. This is the complete list of damages that this customer emailed me 1 week after the move after ignoring earlier emails from me for payment , please note $150.00 deductible for any insurance claim, this is in bold print on estimates, this was 3 trucks of furniture and 6 men. He paid $3,000 of $3,950 owing at 1:00am, the move finished at 12:20, would not pay until furniture was inspected, so movers spent 35 minutes with him doing this ( at my expense , movers are paid until they return to yard) no rush to leave ( they were annoyed, no tip or food, customer did not know movers names, no respect for them, not present at loading) admitted in writing after the inspection no major damages could be found still would not pay full bill. ( Bill was as quoted, nothing more) Move would have finished at 10:30 pm if no delay in traffic in the morning ,customer was packed properly , if customer didn't abandon move and if customer knew where he wanted things put when unloading, this is because I did send an extra truck and driver to help out. We set up 1 of 3 beds and 1 couch needed to be set up, customer did have family at new house helping( this is what he means by beds and couch left in pieces) . Move was scheduled for 2 days with us doing the packing, the customer canceled this service to save money, customer had in writing to expect the move to finish at about Midnight if 1 day service, ( I however arranged the move to finish at 10:30 pm but because of above reasons this didn't happen) the movers did have a 3 hr break after loading, they did like the fact they would get the next day off, they wanted to unload that evening, they were not overtired, because of late closings movers working late is common, also 6 movers for unloading to make unloading easier for the movers. Large heavy dressers not emptied, other things not packed, customer absent for loading went to doctors appointment then to London ( he was present for an hour or so) movers totally alone, I told him he must be at the move at 1:37 pm, not responsible for things left behind or locking up house. Customer was irate with me and hung up phone, 3 days before the move customer was irate I didn't return calls after hours he left after hours on the weekend to confirm for the 4th time his move on Tuesday. ( I did send him an email on a Sunday, called him on Monday, he was argumentative) M and M Moving/Top Movers are both registered names with the Revdex.com, ( customer knows this) My marketing for business is 1. A plus rating with Revdex.com and no complaints , including this reviewer, 2. ***, no bad reviews about damages *** 3.***. 4. 29 yrs in business. 5. ***. 6. Ranked top mover in GTA in 2004 ( same principles apply today) 6. Great Price. Personal background about my University education, family's free medical clinic in Mexico is mentioned as well as my Grandfather who is in the Hockey Hall of Fame for humanitarian work ( Founder of Greater Toronto Hockey League, founded and ran this from 1911-1962, created pee-wee division, bantam e.t.c., I am in charge of his affairs and involved with 3rd world children as well) Correction: Customer did have an apartment at old house , an older flat screen tv in this apartment ( $50-$100 to replace on ***) which would have been packed by his international packer, had no physical damage after move according to customer , but when turned on picture wasn't good, wants new T.V. ( This was noticed 1 week after move, no idea last time TV was used)

Customer Response • Jul 29, 2019

The mover has distorted the facts. There was significant damage which he has minimized. His communication was ineffective. Drinks were given to the men. A tip was given and the men were called by their names . I did not receive a contract only a quote. He wrote on the quote he could increase the quote by 15% which he did. Is that lawful? He advertised insurance which is not insurance just him paying for damages out of his pocket. His quote was for 17.25 hr from arrival at my Burlington house. They arrived at 10:15am. Do the calculations. My experience with him and his so called affiliated companies was ***. ***. What does his grandfather got to do with anything anyways?

M & M Moving Response • Jul 30, 2019

It is not my intention to go back and forth , however let me clarify, I met personally with this customer , gave him a detailed quote, it was by the hour and guaranteed within 15%, it was by the hour from our yard in mississauga to our yard in mississauga after finishing in London, the quote was based on time with a maximum time guarantee ( did not include extra time for packing unpacked items, delays because customer abandoned move, time because customer didn't know where to put items when unloading) the move was scheduled to be done over 2 days but the customer canceled this service to save money, because I sent an extra truck at my expense and an extra driver the move finished amazingly within the 15% guarantee (most movers don't give a maximum price guarantee) I also don't collect payment until after the move risking not getting paid unlike many movers.
My insurance is a very easy process normally, you pay the bill ( which this customer didn't) inspect the furniture when doing delivery and point out damages, ( No major damages after a 35 minute inspection were found I have this in writing) I provide $10,000 of replacement value with a $150.00 deductible this is in bold print on the estimate provided, you have up to 30 days to submit a claim, a claim is never denied, If both parties don't agree on damages caused by the movers that is submitted after the initial inspection , then on rare occasions I ask the customer to file a complaint with the Revdex.com to resolve this, this customer was inconsistent with his claim, now stating oil damage, never mentioned before this review. On June 19th, its July 29th now, I did ask this customer to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, This claim is still open as the customer knows, I have also given this customer my personal home address which the Revdex.com has to send me any pertinent information. My family's humanitarian causes are mentioned for several purposes. The list of damages I mentioned on my first response is what the customer emailed me, but not all items listed are necessarily our liability. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. Brent Owner

This was my second move using M & M Moving. To be honest, this time Brent was my one and only call. I did not bother to get any other quotes because I was confident from my first experience that Brent would give me a fair price and that his employees would do a great job. Again, I was not disappointed. The move went without a hitch on the promised date, and the crew was respectful of us and our property. Some of our larger furniture presented some challenges to the crew due to some tricky stair situations, but they worked through it diligently and got the job done with no complaints or grumbling. At the end, the job finished at the quoted price and I was conveniently able to pay using Interact E-transfer. Thanks again to Brent and crew for another job well done.

Thanks Kenton! I wish more people would take the time to do a review when happy. See you next time, Brent Owner

I called Brent and asked for a quote. He came to our home and went through each room. He answered all questions, regarding insurance etc. The quote was the second lowest that I received. I felt comfortable from the beginning that going with M and M moving was the right decision.

When moving day came we had 3 men cane who were very professional. All furniture was wrapped. They were on time and very efficient and didn't waste any time. I was very pleased with them

M & M Moving Response • Dec 03, 2018

Thanks Marilyn, I know most of your quote's were much higher. Most people don't take the time to do a review when happy, so much appreciated, I can't please everyone but 97% is good

Brent visited my home and we went through each room and the garage. He took notes, did some calculations and wrote a quote. It was the lowest of all the quotes I had received to date. Made me leery so called some of the folks he had previously moved. They were honestly and genuinely pleased with their moves and had nothing but praise for M & M Moving. My move was a long haul to a town just south of Windsor from Brampton. I had also checked this site which concurs with the others. The movers arrived Aug 19 on time and filled the 26ft. truck completely and professionally. All of the belongs arrived at my new digs and were placed where I asked. The crew, Ali, Gabriel, and Amir worked with few breaks. I tipped them for working so laboriously. The bill was as per quote .I would not hesitate to reenlist Brent R.'s services again. They say there is death, divorce and moving...the biggest stresses in life. Moving stress was considerably lowered by hiring Brent's services. Highly recommend.
Terry W. now happily ensconced in Amherstburg, ont.

Thanks Terry! Nice review, I personally do the quotes and have less overhead than large companies so my prices will be better , we have 6 trucks and keep them busy with volume as well offering good service for less money. Thanks again for the review, most people don't take the time to do a review when happy. Brent

M & M Moving Response • Aug 22, 2018

Thanks again

I called Brent and asked for a quote. Right from the start, he was very professional. He came by my house and quoted me a very fair price. On the day of the move, 2 of his employees did an amazing and prefessional job. They were both respectful and very professional. They wrapped all my furniture to make sure nothing was damaged. I could not believe how effecient they were. I recommend M and M Moving to everyone. I kept Brents contact info for future use.

Thanks George for the review, I wish more people would take the time to do reviews when happy. See you next time you move. Brent

I had to do 2 moves, first was from my home in Mississauga into temporary storage and then 3 weeks later from the storage to new home in Prince Edward county. Both moves went very smoothly, the guys are really hard workers, showed up on-time, used a lot of plastic wrappings for protection and were very careful when handling my belongings. Brent was very easy to deal with and there were no surprises on the final bill as it was exactly what I was quoted in the estimate he provided, he even arranged the temporary storage which was unexpected and a really good price. Would definitely recommend using them.

Brent from M & M Movers went through the whole process on how the move was going to go, He gave me great advice on how to check on other movers insurance etc. I was really impressed with Brent and had him quote my parents and move them also.
The truck came on time and the moving crew where careful, caring a understanding.
If I was to move or knew anyone that was moving I would recommend M & M moving as my only choice
Thanks Brent
