Our store personnel states that Mrs*** informed them that the AC was not working and only blowing warm air and only out of the defrost on her Astro Van. After checking the vehicle, which I did not see a charge for on the order, they informed her that the fan wiring and a
vacuum line needed repaired to get the fan and any air to blow out of the vents correctly. Once that was complete they would need to charge the A/C system with approximately lbs of Freon and that it would include dye to determine if there were any leaks and why it was blowing warm air. The customer was informed that if the air blows warm then they would recheck the system and advise of any leaks and costs to repair. This is what was done, and when she returned they found the AC compressor leaking and provided an estimate to the customer. The customer was asking for more to be done. Our manager offered to apply the $evacuate, recharge and $Freon charge towards the price of the compressor and related service charges. The customer declined. After reviewing this case we believe that our personnel took the proper steps in diagnosing and explaining to the customer the options. The fan / blower was not working properly when it came in and was the first place to start in the diagnostic and repair process. The fan / blower is working properly now but blowing warm air due to the leak at the compressor. I understand that the cost to replace the AC compressor can be costly and the customer may not want to invest the money in those repairs, but we did fix the fan wiring and diagnose the leaking AC and thus will not offer any refund. With that said we would extend a good will store credit to Mrs*** for the costs of AC evac, recharge, Freon, fees and related taxes in the amount of $140. This credit can be used for any repairs or tires on any vehicle she chooses at the *** ** location. Sincerely,Joe D***

We will review this issue with our store personnel and a manager will reach out to the customer to try and resolve this in a fair and timely manner. Thank you

Damage or marks on vehicles and/or wheels are sometimes more noticed after a vehicle has been serviced.  The customer may not have actually noticed prior marks, scratches... until after service.  We can usually tell with some certainty if the wheel was scratched or damaged with fresh (not...

dirty or rust forming) markings that could have been made by improper installation.  If we thought it was probable that our machine could have made the damage we would have notified the customer, as we have a few times over the years, and had the wheel refinished.  This does not sound to be the case.  One of our managers at the store wrote the below response.  With the information known we feel confident that our tire machine did not make that kind of damage to the wheel.  I do understand the customer may not have been aware of this prior and thinks we caused the damage.  We would be willing to split the price of having the wheel replaced or refinished thru one of our vendors, which I recommend refinish or a refurbished wheel, as that would cost the customer about $85 and it would look like new.  Of course the vendor would need to see a picture of the wheel to confirm that it can be done. From our ast manager:  I am the one that talked to the customer when he came back to the shop on Saturday, the 8th.  The rim in question is on R/F wheel.  When he took me out to the vehicle, I was expecting to see light scratches, a ding or possibly a dent.  What he showed me was a mark about 8” long that looked like rust and you could feel in the surface of the wheel.  In looking at it, it appeared to be damage from parking against a curb (while I can’t say that for sure, that’s the look and feel it had).  I took him back in the shop and showed him that scratching a wheel would still be the same color as the wheel.  I had a core in the shop, took a hammer and scratched, showing him that it was the same color.  If this was anything that I thought we did, there would have been no question, I would have taken care of the customer.

Apparently you did not receive my last response due to internet / email connection...  To summarize, our region manager, Alan G[redacted], is in contact with the customer and our store.  We have some concerns and questions regarding the tire being repaired properly by the other...

shop.  Our employees tell us with confidence that there were 2 concerns with the tire and one was a grey drywall screw in the edge of the tire that was in a non-repairable area in the tire.   We hold our people and reputation to a high standard of ethics and values.  I'm surprised to hear we used the words "against the law" to repair a tire and nobody recalls that.  We would like to see the tire and how it was repaired.  I believe the customer will be going to a dealer for their opinion and will contact Alan.  We will always try to do the right thing for Mr. [redacted] and all of our customers.  Warm Regards,Joe D[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have several issues with Flynn's Tires in [redacted] and with Mr. D[redacted] who addressed the situation without ever responding to my initial complaint.  When I took my vehicle in to Flynn's I asked that they checked out my air conditioning and call me before they made any repairs.  Flynn's called me and told me that they had good news for me.  They told me that my air conditioning needed a wire replaced and that it would only blow on one level (it would not work on low, medium, and high).  I said fine.  I was never told that it would take a few days to see if I had a leak.  The cost was $244 and some change.  I picked up my van and had air for approximately 30 minutes.  I started my vehicle on July 3rd and had no air.  I called and told them I would bring it in on July 5th.  Flynn's called a couple of hours later and was told that I needed an air compressor.  I told them I would not be repairing the air conditioner.  I asked for a partial refund.  I was told that I could only get an $89 refund if I allowed them to repair the air conditioning.  I told them no.  I wrote to Flynn's Tire on their website and did not ever receive a response.  I realize that it is 2016 and the customer is no longer right.  The situation with Flynn's did not happen as Mr. D[redacted] said and he never once contacted me, the customer to inquire.  I would not have invested over $200 for a maybe it works and I don't wish to do business with a company that treats customers as I have been treated.  I am floored that no one from Flynn's bothered to investigate all parties involved.  I want a partial refund - not a store credit.  Flynn's has poor customer service.
