Marcello Construction was hired to do some carpentry work in my kitchen and to fix a leak in the master shower on the 2nd floor . For the shower project, they were to install a copper tub and then re-tile the floor and about 2 feet up the shower wall. It has been five years and the shower began to leak into the kitchen below. I had a contractor and insurance adjustor come to the house and both agreed that the cause of the leak was due to how the copper pan was installed - specifically the tile over it was not done correctly causing water to leak through the tile and to the side of the shower. It has caused considerable damage and the repair will involve taking down a wall since the inside wall is wet.Desired SettlementI would like the money I paid for the shower to be refunded. I was not an owner or officer, I was a paid employee. I do however remember the project in question quite vividly. Work was contracted for and performed in the kitchen area and entrance from garage. The work being complained about was in the master bedroom shower. The leaking was something that was inherited and was not created.The plumber on the job and I explained the copper pan originally install (not by us) was the problem but not removing all of the shower could not confirm this. She was given a price to replace what the plumber did and also to replace all. She chose the less expensive option knowing it was not a certainty. Unfortunately, this didn't work out. She never paid for the kitchen back splash which was completed because she was unhappy with the shower situation which clearly was not my fault.I've been in business 25 years and this is the first complaint I have received. His guys cut two joists and didn't nail another support board to it. These joists are the support to the attic - they are support for the house. Because of the cut joists (I have photos if necessary), there was unnecessary pressure put on the copper pan and the copper pan failed. The entire shower did not need to be replaced. The issue was the copper pan. Mike sent in young workers and did not supervise his workers. I have photos if you would like themFinal Business Response In response, the joists in question were not cut by me and probably were cut by the original installer. Also, if there was an issue with the work I would assume I should have been contacted phone or email and given the opportunity to re-visit the issue. That's how this should have been handled, not 5 years later when someone else has already fixed the issue. As I've previously stated this is my only complaint and I have a very good reputation for quality and 100% satisfaction.
