On 12/28 Glen *** and Ronnie *** came to give me a bid on some work that I needed done. I had seen their add on Facebook. One job- Bathroom-Hand Sheetrock tape & float. Build a shelf unit for towels and paint they also would install wall reciprocals and put in 3 lights. Remove and attic fan repair area and repair the damaged Sheetrock in the hallway and paint bathroom and hall. The bathroom is approx 10x10. They gave me an estimate of $3000.
The second part of the estimate was to tear out and replace all rotted fascia and sofit outside and paint everything. the cost of this was quoted as $7500
I agreed and paid $3500 I was to pay another $3500 after the bathroom was complete and the remaiming after jobs finished.. They would show up for a few hours and leave. They made no attempt to keep a neat work space and told me they would clean up the paint on the floors. On 1/17 Glen asked for more money and I gave them a check for $2000 and again asked on 1/25 stated *** needed to pay his house note and I gave another check for $1500. weeks later the bathroom is not complete no work has been started on the outside. The work done is very poor quality and will have to be corrected. Will not come back unless I give them $1500. I am out so much money with no job complete and very poor quality of work done. They also called a electrician after the job they did was throwing the breaker they told me it would be about $150 to which I agreed and then had to pay the electrician $426.
I understand that it was stupid of me to give someone money upfront but this is the first time I have hired outside workers and thought people were better than this. My husband had a heart attack in November and I needed some help getting the work done. At the recommendation of the Revdex.com I filed a report with the OPSO.
Desired Settlement ID: Refund I would like at least $5000 back because they never started the exterior job and the interior job is not complete.
In response to her complaints we were contacted by Ms *** about finishing her bathroom fixing holes in hall way and covered the ceiling fan put new lights up Sheetrock bathroom paint tape and float everything had to call a electrician due to the fact that she had wiring problem we contacted her she told us to call one we did he found wires that were tied to ground wires as well as breakers were needed to fix the problem so he did ms *** was aware that we could not do any outside work due to the weather we were coming back until she called us to complain that the work that we completed wasn't what she wanted but as we stated before she was happy when we left had no problem at all she paid us in full for everything except for the outside work which is where the last $3500 would come from as for right now we offered to come out look things over and try to resolve her issues but she told us no do not come back ever thank you for letting us tell our side.
