I had a leak in my irrigation system which had six stations with a timer panel. I had dug just deep enough to view the coupling joint with the leak. I shared that information and sent photos to Vaca Landscaping. They sent two workers, one could not speak English and the other spoke only limited words. I pointed out the coupling joint where the leak occurred but was careful not to dig deeply to endanger the cable wiring. They continued to dig the hole deeper without caution for cable, and cut it. They tried to blame me to cover themselves. Jamie called the next day and refused to come out and rewire the system.
I am a retired builder and designed and built my home. I've dealt all my career with subcontractors. VACA LANDSCAPE IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
During the week of March 21, 2022 Jamie badgered me with calls as he had just become aware of my Yelp review and claimed he would call Yelp and have it cancelled. Today, March 28, 2022 Yelp mailed me and said they were removing my review because "it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this location."

Yelp, I live in the attached photo in San Anselmo, and all photos are all on my property. Yelp, you didn't have the courtesy to contact me. Whose side are you on, the customers of businesses or the businesses?

The photos display the way Vaca Landscaping left the job after they damaged my irrigation system. This owner, Jamie, of Vaca Lanscaping continued to call and harass me with calls when he viewed the Yelp feedback. He said he'd contact Yelp and have them remove the feedback, as if that would be an easy thing to do.

Review: Representative/owner of MV LANDSCAPING provided me with an estimate to install a sprinkler system and sod based on my requirements on March 13, 2013. After extensive explanation of my requirements - good soil water coverage and sod to accommodate the activities of an active dog (either a Border Collie or Australian Shepard), he provided me an estimate.I paid him $500 on 3/18/13 and $900 balance on 3/20/13 when he said the job was completed and everything was to spec.His installation and execution of the work was poor at best.1. He installed the WRONG TYPE OF SOD - non-thatching sod (unsuitable for animal traffic) that left bare spots and dead areas because of bad sprinkler design.2. He left out two sprinkler heads we discussed as part of the design. The result was inadequate, uneven and dry areas of moisture.3. He installed the wrong sprinkler types - arching and not arching and horizontal spraying heads. This resulted in inadequate water pattern over-lapping.4. He failed to level the underlying soil resulting in extremely uneven and dangerously bumpy lawn areas. Divots were up to 6" deep in areas.5. He left me with inadequate watering instructions and what to expect as to what to set sprinkler setting on as the sod took hold.6. When called and asked to examine the lawn he blamed everything from my lawn mower type to weather conditions to "settling" of soil. He stated that maintenance was not his responsibility and the sprinkler system was correct. He failed to provide any follow up or attempts to correct the system defects.I would never recommend him to anyone to do landscaping. I an upset at his poor "attitude" and lack of concern over customer relations. I feel like I was sold a bill of goods - his statements of his "superior" abilities to do quality work were nothing more than a "come-on". Never once did he say anything about being sorry for my disappointment or him trying to resolve the situation to my satisfaction. His work and attitude was unprofessional and inferior.Desired Settlement: I would like a complete refund for the cost of the sod - $500, and 50% refund for the sprinkler system - 1/2 of $900 = $450 in addition to the $375 I had to pay another landscaper to repair/replace sad and sprinkler heads to undo the damage. I would also like $500 in damages for the time and effort required to find someone to repair the situation and oversee (1 day's time) that was required to make the situation correct. The total I am seeking is $500 + $450 + $375 + $500 = $ 1825.
