March 15, 2018Revdex.comN UniversityPeoria IL 61615Re: Complaint ID *** In response to *** ** *** allegations, my personnel did not tell the truth about our ability to apply ceramic coatin** Attached are six past invoices from customers that used our company for
their ceramic needs, and if need be, we can furnish hundreds moreThey are 100% satisfied customers. We did apply the ceramic and it did not pass our quality inspection to ship out to ***We informed him that we would need to re-apply the product to achieve a coating that our quality inspection would sign off on.He went off on a tangent saying that we didn't know what we were doin** After a couple conversations to get him to understand, we only ship a product that is 100%, he had a few choice words to say to two of personnel and myself.*** the requested we remove the coating and send his headers backHe was under the understanding that he pays all freight associated with getting his headers doneHe then wanted us to credit his freight backThis will not happenWe were trying to provide a flawless product and in his disrespectful way he could not see thatFor his headers not being stripped before shipping, again this is 100% wron** I personally got the headers from the blaster and took them for packaging for their return to ***I'm guessing *** was expecting the next coater to cut some cost off because we had stripped his headers before returning themHe has no clue on the prep before applying the coatin** They would need to be refreshed due to being handled and body oil on the headers will cause a defective coatin** He made all of his own decisions and his freight is his responsibility not oursHis misrepresentation of his parts being stripped is another ploy to get something for nothing. We have been applying Ceramic Coating for many years and can provide many invoices from customers who appreciate our quality of work.Sincerely,Mark HicksCEO Powder Coating Unlimited, DBA Ceramic Coatings

I am rejecting this response because:Did I fail to mention when I threatened to pick up my parts, that they had lost/misplaced a piece of my exhaust (albeit found later).  My opinion their Revdex.com reply simply tries to shift blame, they need to own up to it;. A simple sorry and commitment to have fixes in place to improve the process is all that's needed.

Most Motorcycle enthusiasts walk around their Bike all winter and never give a thought to their plans for chrome or ceramic or even repairs. Then in the spring, most wait until they see on the local weather it's going to be 70 or above and they all bring their projects in for repair or coating....

Every year all shops doing chrome o ceramic get back logged. As for Scott Schonert's statement "There goes my spring motor cycle riding", this was not a concern when he was called on May first. It took 13 days for him to come in and yes he was not satisfied. So with our guarantee, we sent his pipes back through the process. He then called wanting his pipes and his money back, therefore we stopped his project and started on another. Later that day he called saying go ahead and do them, most likely because he found that everyone else was backlogged too. this again caused time lost. The 13 days he took to pick up and 1 day lost on his call is a total of 14 days. As frustrating as it is for him, if he would not have waited until it was motorcycle season to bring his pipes in , he would not have missed his spring rides.Just a note, there is only about 6 certified Ceramic Coaters in the Central Region and chrome platers run 16-20 weeks back logged due to the same last minute rush.Sincerely,[redacted], Maas Radiator Shop Inc.DBA: Powder Coating Unlimited

From: [redacted] [mailto:[redacted][email protected]] Sent: Monday, April 02, 2018 4:41 PM To: Revdex.com <[email protected]> Subject: Re: You have a New Message from Revdex.com Serving Central Illinois, Complaint #[redacted]   Mr. Mark Hick is attempting to mislead everyone that his company has successfully applied ceramic coating by producing a receipt when he knows that the subject of this complaint is about the application of a different coating called cerakote chrome w-400, or cerakote glazier chrome.  Powdercoating Unlimited misrepresented itself by claiming it was capable of applying correctly this new special product called cerakote chrome w-400 and achieving the highly polished chrome appearance with a higher heat resistance than other highly polished coatings, specifically offered by a company called [redacted] in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma ([redacted]).  The company that makes the cerakote chrome coating has a web site that specifically states and describes that all applicators of the cerakote chrome product has to have special training in the application of this product and the Powdercoating Unlimited applicator employees didn't have this training.  Powdercoating Unlimited had me to send my headers to them via a company that Martin (employee) informed me would charge me a lower shipping cost than other shippers.  The shipping company is called [redacted] Delivery.  Powdercoating Unlimited misrepresentation of its ability to correctly apply this new product called cerakote chrome w-400 is the cause of me shipping my headers to them.  My headers were shipped to them as I was instructed by Martin, and they were not heavily soiled and greasy.  All companies that do this type of work do not rely on the customer's cleaning and prep work of the product, and the cost of all cleaning and prep work done by the companies is worked into the total cost of the finished product.  The company that makes the cerakote chrome w-400 product has a web site, [redacted] that can confirm what I have been claiming.  I have had a company to clean and sand the headers since I got them back from Powdercoating Unlimited.  They quoted me a price of $100.00 but gave me a discount and charged me $75.00.  None of these events would have happened if Powdercoating Unlimited had not falsely claimed they had the ability to apply this new special product correctly, and Powdercoating Unlimited is responsible for all cost ensued.
