Check number [redacted] for $250 was still with our Accounts Payable clerk until today.  There was some confusion about the address for this consumer, but this was all cleared up today.  The check has gone out via [redacted] (tracking number [redacted] and should get to Mr. Berg’s...

residence by Thursday, August 13th.

Dear Sirs,
the information the customer received from his dealer or our local representative is correct. The product has been purchased and installed in 2009 and is out of Warranty.
Technically the problem described can have different origins and is not necessarily linked...

to a defect in material and workmanship anyways. We are sure that the local dealer, from whom the spa was originally purchased from can work out a discount on the repair or a rebate on the purchase of a new product. We as a manufacturer would support our dealer in one of these processes, customer satisfaction is our outmost priority.

Review: This also includes customer service issues. I purchased a HEET model spa from [redacted] (now a subsidiary of MAAX Spas) on 26 November 2014 and it was delivered on 4 December 2014. During delivery it was noted that a panel was cracked. I was assured that a new panel would be ordered and installed upon receipt. It was also noted that they had delivered plastic steps when the contract specifically called for wooden steps. On 3 January 2015, the main circuit board went out and the spa was inoperative. I called [redacted] and spoke with the manager, [redacted] and also reminded him of the cracked panel. He asked that I take a picture so that a new one could be made which I sent out immediately. He went on to explain that since the purchase of [redacted] by MAAX Spas and the subsequent move to a new manufacturing facility from California to Arizona, there was confusion on the manufacturing processes. A new circuit board was installed 3 weeks later on 23 January 2015. At that time I again inquired about a replacement panel. [redacted] said he had lost the pictures and asked that I resend them which I did. On 17 May, the main circuit board failed again. I called [redacted] on 18 May and reported the problem. I was contacted by their repair contractor on 19 May 2015, and confirmed that it was the same problem as before. I heard nothing until I called on 8 June 2015 and spoke with Mr. [redacted]. He knew nothing about the matter... I also inquired about the panel replacement and he said that they could no longer provide the panel as the manufacturing process had changed (my spa model is now obsolete). I have still not received the steps from the original contract either.Desired Settlement: Although the spa is still under warranty, I don't see how they can execute the warranty the model is no longer manufactured. Additionally, the spa has been inoperative now 6 of the 26 weeks since delivery. That's almost 25% down time with no estimate on when or if it will be repaired! Based on this and the information above, I believe a replacement of the spa with the newest, equivalent model is warranted.

We're very sorry to hear about the issues that Mr. [redacted] has had with his [redacted]. We have shipped replacement parts to his dealer ([redacted] in Las Vegas) and their service technician ([redacted]) is scheduling the replacement of these parts with Mr. [redacted].

Review: This is the first time we have ever complained about anything on social media and/or with the Revdex.com. It’s that bad, and we are truly disappointed with these two companies: Presidential Pools (spa distributor, Tucson), and MAAX Spas (spa manufacturer, Chandler, AZ.)

While these two companies make the point that they, in fact, purchased/took over for LA Spas: Presidential Pools is a local distributor and Maax is the new manufacturer, neither of them over the past eight months had any interest in honoring our warranty or working with us. They focused on pointing fingers rather than confronting this lemon of a LA Spa or their abysmal customer service.

Our spa was about one year old when it started “delaminating” (i.e. blisters ranging from the size of a dime to a dollar bill.) The spa also developed leaks from the plumbing (also under a one-year warranty, which would have cost several hundred dollars to repair.) It may be that the glue throughout began to fail. We could not determine definitively if the “structure” was leaking (five year warranty)--despite more than fifty of those blisters below the water line--and Presidential refused to push it and Maax denied any responsibility.

We commonly consult the Revdex.com when looking at major expenses, e.g. repainting our house or pouring a slab in the backyard. We hope that this complaint will help others when considering Presidential Pools and Maax Spas in the future.Desired Settlement: Since they will not stand behind their warranty, ideally, Maax Spas will reimburse us the $225 that we incurred to determine that this spa is a lemon ($80 to LA Spas and another $255 to Tucson Hot Tubs) and have it hauled to the dump.

One month after installing my MAAX 471, it began leaking and lost about 3 inches per day. It took a week to get the warranty repairman to my property, after two days of searching he said he has to remove the bottom and parts to get to the center of the tub...and now it has been two more weeks to get the part. The dealer doesn't seem to care whether this is resolved or not, the MAAX warranty repairman is professional and nice, but responsiveness on the part of the MAAX group and those sending parts is lethargic at best. The part was ordered over a week ago and won't be here until a weekend when the repairman can't install it. MAAX and the dealer don't seem to mind that they have sold me the largest paper weight in history. My frustration level is high.

Review: Called Maax to discuss warranty issue. A return phone call to tell me my particular swim spa is out of warranty. I was first told I had to submit my serial number as other spas are warrantied differently. A six year old tub! On a service call for the repair with my Maax dealer. He informs me I have a 10 year warranty on the shell and saying it was a leaking shell. After repeated calls to maax I was finally contacted by the midwest representative of Maax and informed me that my spa was out of warranty and suggested that I find a boat repair man since I live close to a lake. A questionable warranty, and questionable service. This company advertises they service what they sell. I was sold a manufacturers defective product and they know it. They also informed me that they "Never have a blistering problem with their vessels!" I will gladly supply the pictures to prove the acrylic has separated from the fiberglass.

Review: I recently purchased a MAAX tub from Top of Utah spas in Logan, UT. After the first day of installation there was a foul smell, like ammonia, coming from the heated water. The water itself was a kind of greenish color and when the jets were on the bubbles were like laundry soap bubbles. The maintenance personnel from Top of Utah Spas stated ours was not the only tub that had this problem, they stated there were three others that had to be emptied and refilled. They emptied and refilled the tub...it continues to be a problem with stink and some excessive and unusual bubbling and on occasion green tint to water. Top of Utah Spa personnel have been unable to correct these issues and I believe it is a tub issue, internal to the product. I have contacted the owner of Top of Utah Spas and left phone messages, he has not returned my calls. His technician Jordan answered the phone today and stated he would come to the house to look at the tub, he did not come to examine the tub. We want MAAX tubs to take this product back and return the money to the Top of Utah Spa business so that they can repay us and remove the tub.Desired Settlement: We want MAAX tubs to take this product back and return the money to the Top of Utah Spa business so that they can repay us and remove the tub.

Review: LA Swim Spa (Serial#[redacted]) purchase 5 Oct 2012 stopped working on the weekend of 18 April 2015. I contacted the manufacture via their phone number. Manufacture (now bough out by MAAX Spas) said consumers need to contact the local distributor who the swim spa was sold/purchased ([redacted]). I contacted the local distributor (multiple times). After aggressive pursuing [redacted]s; an independent spa repair service was requested to come to my residence and repair the swim spa ([redacted]). The spa was repaired (heater element burned out) on 27 April 2015. Repair service man expected payment on the completion of service; I contacted [redacted]s who spoke with [redacted] telling him that he needed to file a claim under the warranty with the manufacture. Since [redacted] was not employed by [redacted], I paid the repairman and attempted to file a claim under the warranty. I eventually contacted my attorney who sent a letter of demand for $250.00. MAXX Spas called me 13 days after the date of the demand letter...telling me on the phone they would send payment immediately.

No payment has been received to date.Desired Settlement: repayment of $250.00 for warranty work.
