I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I was perturbed by Mr***'s response, as he completely misrepresented my involvement in attempting to resolve this complaintFor example, he claims that "Ms*** [sic] ....has refused to speak verbally regarding the claimShe has also refused to complete a claim for for the damages, a legal requirement for any insurance claim."In fact, from and including the day of the move in September through February 2015, I had many telephone conversations with Mr*** about not only the extensive damages, but the frequent and lengthy disappearances of the movers when they were supposed to be packing the truck, the intimidating treatment of me by his employees, and the vast overcharge for Mabey's servicesEach time, Mr*** stated that he would "make things right." He also instructed me (again, over the telephone) NOT to fill out the claim form, but to send him a simple *** of items that were damaged. I will paste below the email exchange I had with *** *** of ***'s *** regarding all of my attempts to resolve thisI will be happy to send you hard copies of the exchange at your request. We are in receipt of the complaint filed with the Revdex.com by *** ***Our insurance company, *** ***, has been reviewing the complaint from Ms***’s and has made a determination of legal liabilityOur coverage limits are based on $cents per pound per article, per the terms of the
Order for Service and Bill of Lading under which Ms***’s shipment was transportedIn further explanation, prior to the move options for additional coverage were offeredA detailed explanation of coverage options was presented to Ms*** (copy attached)These additional coverage programs would have allowed for repair costs and/or replacement of broken itemsMs*** specifically declined to purchase these added coverages, indicated on both the Order for Service as well as Bill of Lading. When we received Ms***’s original complaint, December 2nd, 2015, we spent a great deal of time reviewing it and held several meetings discussing it internallyNot only did we meet privately with the men that were on the move to talk to them about the problems, we in turn called in all of the movers within our organization to discuss the issues specific to this complaint and hopefully prevent any similar problems in the future. We have made several attempts to contact Ms*** via telephone and email following receipt of her complaint and damaged items list, with no response except for through complaints to ***’s *** and the Revdex.com websiteOur insurance company has also advised us that Ms*** has refused to speak verbally regarding the claimShe has also refused to complete a claim form for the damages, a legal requirement for any insurance claim. On March 19th, an inspection was done by *** *** ** *** *** *** to review the items damaged and in turn, weights of the items assessed have been determined by the Joint Military/Industry Guide to Weights and Depreciation for household goodsAfter careful review, our liability has been determined by *** *** to be $183.00, copy attached. In an effort to resolve this complaint, and in consideration of the problems that occurred during the move, Mabey's Moving & Storage would like to offer a refund for amounts collected that were beyond the original estimate, as a good faith gestureOur estimated cost to service this move was $The actual cost on the day of the move was $We have since refunded $in correction of an error on the rate and we are here within offering to refund an additional $Please note, per specific instruction from our insurance carrier, we cannot issue any payments to Ms*** until they receive the signed release presented in settlement for damages to her household goodsWe strive to meet world-class standards on every move that we do, and deeply regret that there were any problems during this move.Sincerely, *** *** Mabey’s Moving & Storage, Inc
