Finally, in late September, after many e-mails back and forth we cancelled them outOur big mistake was we had given them a check to hold some granite We asked for our money back We ended up taking them to small claims court to recover it However, since we did not have a contract in writing the judge ruled that we were fresh out of luck Kevin Stevens got half our money and the granite In my opinion they are disreputableDon't deal with them Or if you do, you better have everything down on paper This was truly a bad experience for us and my advice is DO NOT DEAL with DBR construction [redacted] ***

But that was only the beginningThey did all of the finish work so it was livable and beautifulThe crew was respectful professional and pleasant every step of the wayEven more scary is how good Kevin isThere is virtually nothing he can't work through My only regret through all of this has been we didn't hire him from the startWe could have avoided months and months of headaches and finished the project on time and on budget If you are looking for quality work at a fair price and unmatched attention to detail, give Kevin a call...you won't regret it

When General Contractor Kevin S*** first came to look at the house we recently purchased, we told him what changes we wanted to make; he listened and made suggestions as to what could be done to make it look, not only as good, but, better than we planned, and at less expense Having worked in construction since he was 16, his experienced eye picked up things that needed to be corrected which we had not even noticed; like poorly installed kitchen cabinets that slanted down 3/inch from the back to the front (which he said was so distracting to him that he would fix them for us without charge)
Being new to Arizona and having heard horror stories of people hiring companies whose time schedules were long drawn out and workmanship questionable, we searched diligently for three weeks to find a contractor with whom we felt comfortable and confident Fortunately, we noticed the DBR Construction sign in a yard across the street from us Upon further investigation, we learned that Kevin’s company had a good standing in our community and they had done extensive projects in our area ranging from renovation to completely new construction The more we learned, the more we knew Kevin’s company was the one we wanted We have not been disappointed at any point!!
The professional craftsmen he has working for him not only did their jobs with great care and skill, but they went out of their way to do extra things that came up during the project, and we were not even charged for the extra labor The friendly, courteous manner with which they worked was exceeded only by the skill and accuracy of their work We have had several guests visiting and EVERYONE has commented on the high quality of their work
They removed all the old tile and carpeting in the house and replaced it with porcelain planking; remodeled two bathrooms, removing and replacing one tub, and removing a cut down tub/shower and creating a tiled shower (the tile work is phenomenal!); wired in three ceiling lights and fans, put in additional workspace outlets; removed drywall to check out signs of a leak behind the washing machine, then replaced and refinished the drywall (all at no charge!); reset the kitchen cabinets (no charge!); replaced two old mirrors outside of bid (no charge!); wired in and installed an over-stove microwave Once again, we found Kevin’s company very friendly and accommodating, and we continue to get compliments on the high quality of the work done by Kevin’s professional craftsmen
NO, Kevin is not my brother-in-law, nor have I been paid for this sincere and honest review; we are simply very grateful to all the men that worked so hard to make our home beautiful and a place we can truly enjoy the rest of our life
Not only would we recommend DBR Construction, but we hired them to do our atrium, and will not hesitate to hire him for any others projects we want done in a professional way by workers who rightly take pride in their work
