I purchased a vehicle from them in 2019. My interest rate was high, understandable due to my financial situation. The vehicle did not have a second set of keys, I was told I had an opportunity to refinance a year after. After 1 month, the vehicle developed a leak - they fixed it. No cost on me. Three months after that leak, another leak and then another leak to the point I was taking this vehicle in every couple of weeks. They have their mechanics they work with, but they do nothing. My vehicle was in annd out of the mechanic at least 10 times. Mac James would approve of repairs they had no right approving. My vehicle was waiting for an oil and anfter it was done, instead of notifying the owner (me), Mac James took it upon themselves to take my vehicle without my permissions and hold it ransom at their dealership. This happened 2 times where they took my car from the oil change location. They also would anpprove of many mechanical repairs I was not notified about annd moving forward with another mechanic loan, with an interest rate of 21%. I stopped taking the vehicle to the mechanic because it was in the shop 3 times in one month. The vehicle was financed for 8000$ and was charged an instalment fee for a tracking device (600) when the GPS is OnStar, which came factory installed with the vehicle.
This vehicle was meant to help build my credit and they have reported payments late, they have never sent me a receipt and the have not posted payments. I’ve had a look at my credit report and they have not closed out a mechanical loan that was paid off 2 years ago.
I was promised refinancing - that was not an option. During the pandemic deferred payments were offered and I did not take them because I was working. I unfortunately had some sick time, asked for the differed payments and I was not given an option. I was told my vehicle came with two sets of keys and that I would get the second set at the end of my loan - I was given them. All in all - I paid between 19,000-20,000 for a $8000 vehicle, year 2012 that had 180,000 km.
The managers are bullies and will gas light, they will hold your vehicle ransom when they were never authorized to drive my vehicle. They have ruined my credit by not reporting payments on time and closing out mechanical loans that have been paid off.
These guys are crooks and money hungry. They are liars.
They have mechanics who over charge and I only discovered this when I finally took my vehicle to a mechanic in Lloydminster and the price difference in repairs and parts were almost three times the standard price.
Financing a 2012 vehicle for 6 years, 21 percent interest, with 180,000km…should not be allowed. This company preys on their customers, they bully and use threats and are extremely unprofessional. They authorized repairs, without my knowledge. There are rules business need to follow - I’ve had to ask every time for receipts of my payments. When I was laying two loan payments they were delegating the money where they felt like it. Some payments it would be all interest and other payments would be 7$ to the principle, there was no pattern to the payments and my payments were $179 dollars, I over paid almost every time but somehow the interest never went down.
They have been one of those companies I have had to work with. I had a remaining balance of $300 and said I’d pay it in my next pay cheque and they threatened to turn my vehicle off. I’ve been directed by almost every person to go after this scam of a company and I just might.
