went there 3 weeks ago with my wife/not busy at all that early evening placed our order and waited 1hr plus for food was told several times (its coming rite up) finally food arrived was cold and soggy to the touch/understand we have been there 3 times before without incident/told server the problem said he was sorry and can I get you something else?kinda strange/at that point I said no/ended up paying for complete meal costed me over 35.00 for 2 sodas/real nice/contacted their customer svs dept 3 times with no reply/never again or anybody I know/this was totally unacceptable but u live and learn jan/salem va

In reference to our complaint ID [redacted] I wanted to contact you to clarify the incident.The customer that filed this complaint was not able to provide us with the the correct identification in the proper condition to purchase alcoholic beverages from our establishment.  The hologram had faded...

off his current license which is a safety feature we look for to distinguish actual IDs from fake IDs. We spoke with him to see if he had another form of identification we could use, however he only had an expired license and his other identification did not include a picture which is required.  Once we ask a customer for identification to purchase alcohol they must provide us with an acceptable form otherwise VA ABC laws prohibits us from serving them.  We take these laws very seriously. Review: I went to this restaurant with a few coworkers after work. Everyone orderd beers including myself and we all gave the server our IDs. She came back with beer for everyone except for me. She said she needed to see my ID again to re-check my birthday I gave it to her and she returned saying she couldn't accept it. I have a valid NC drivers license I don't know why it got denied. I provided her with my old licence, my debit card, and my insurance card. She came back and said sorry we can't serve you. I asked to speak with the manager **. He was very passive aggressive and encouraged me to write a bad review of the place as they had recently gotten their liqueur licence revoked and he thought it would be a good image for them denying people service. No effort was made to apologize or make this situation right. Just to clarify I am of the legal drinking age and provided them with several forms of ID to no avail.Desired Settlement: I would like a personal apology from the manager ** and a gift card so I can come enjoy a beer like I originally wanted.
