Review: Failure to deliver a safe, quality service as verbally promised and advertised on website. This business is also known as Long Island Car & Limo Service, MacArthur Car Service & MacArthur Airport Car Service. Made reservation by text and phone, and asked specifically if cars were new model sedans and was told "absolutely". I requested to ensure it was a new, nice car and driver spoke English. Car service arrived to take us from Southampton to Islip airport after numerous phone calls from the driver that were unintelligible. After having to ask driver to help us load luggage into the car, he didn't even open the car doors for us ([redacted] passengers) and the one passenger door was stuck & wouldn't open. We noticed he had the hood open, but he closed it and said he was just cooling the engine. We get in the car and he starts driving & we ask him to turn on the air conditioning. The driver says it does not work and that it broke yesterday (later, after we complained he said it broke that morning.) So, we put down the windows on a very hot August day on Long Island (at 2pm) and ruin our hair styles and start sweating through our clothing. After 20 minutes in the car, and on the highway, he all of a sudden pulls to the shoulder and asks us to open our doors and make sure they are closed (the interior lights of the car went on and he couldn't turn them off). I couldn't open my door because it was stuck so he got out of the car along the highway and tried to open it but it wouldn't open. (This is a safety issue as in the event of an emergency, I couldn't get out.) He says "oh well", and gets back in the car and starts to drive again. We notice the car is making funny noises and is clearly having electrical issues. At this point, we are about 10 miles from the airport&on the highway so we ask him to get us there as quickly as possible so we can get out of the car since we were quite worried we'd break down or be in the car when it caught on fire or just broke down.Desired Settlement: We paid $75 and would like this money refunded due to the stress and mental anguish caused. At the airport, we were requested to pay in cash but we were given a receipt. Fare was quoted to us at $75 + mandatory 20% gratuity but due to problems, only paid $75 with no tip.We would like this Company to be investigated for safety so others do not have the same experience, or even worse, get hurt by this Company's failure to maintain their vehicles and promise a service that they do not deliver

Review: I went on line and googled a car service to drop my family off and pick my family up at the NYC cruise terminal. I found Macarthur Car Service and they had an option to request a quote on line. I proceeded to fill out the requested information to receive the quote and I submitted it. Shortly thereafter I received an email from Macarthur Car Service with my quote. Here is the email response --

"Hello,

We recently received your online qoute for a round trip in a black lincoln town car to pick up 3 people from west babylon and be brought to NEW York City it would be $80.00 plus a 20% gratuity each way. If you would like to book this reservation please call at [redacted]"

So I called Macarthur Car Service today to book the quoted travel. They responded that I could not have that price because they made a mistake? The trip was now going to cost me $110.00 each way + Tolls + a 20% gratuity?

I said that I did not think that was fair since they quoted me a different price and then a gentleman picked up the phone and said he would take $5.00 off and take the no toll bridge. I told him that all I wanted was what I was quoted by eamil and he said could not do that and did I want to book it or not???

I said not at this time because I was diappointed he would not live up to the agreement he sent me by email.

He said - OK byDesired Settlement: Live up to the quote they sent and do it in a professional manner

Not likely to happen but that is what I would like.
