Macdee Cleaners

Review: I asked MacDee cleaners to hem two pair of trousers and take in two dress shirts. They refused to give me an estimate of the cost ahead of time, blaming the computer; all I got was a claim ticket for the cleaning of a pair of jeans (I didn't give them jeans). Based on previous experience, I expected a bill of, at most, $90. When I retrieved the items, they were badly done and--in the case of the trousers--completely ruined. Inexplicably, the clerk became abusive and tried to blame me for the fact that the trousers were ruined beyond wear. The final bill for this horrendous activity and deplorable customer service was $147.64 which I could never have known before I turned up to collect the ruined items.Desired Settlement: I should be asking for them to replace the trousers that they rendered completely unwearable and which have had to be consigned to the bin, but I will settle for a reversal of charges on the credit card. I am on my way now to purchase new trousers, as I require them for work.

(1) Two pairs of cotton denim trousers for hem out and cleanings, and three dress shirts for taper in and cleanings were brought into the store by the customer on 07/18/2014. (2) The ticket was issued and the ticket customarily holds the total cost of cleanings and the future price of alteration (undecided cost due to alternation labor) by computer. The customer accepted the computer generated ticket with the undecided future price of alteration. (3) The total cost of the alteration and cleanings were $147.79: two pairs of cotton trousersfor cleaning were $13.90, for alteration, $29.95, three shirts for cleaning were $5.67, and for alteration, $89.95) (4) We did not ruin any of the items. One inch hem out of the cotton trousers (computer reads as jean) remain the original bottom line crease that any attempts including press may not be possible.The store clerk has already warned the customer and he did not raise any objection at that time. (5) The customer was not complaint about the shirts' alteration and cleanings ($95.62), (6) We are willing to return the one inch hem out to the original condition, if the customer wants. Labor charges were paid toalternators and cleaning company. Lastly, the customer was neither arguing, nor complaint to the store clerk at the time when he brought in to the store. She never spoke any abusive words.
