Macejko's Towing

Review: My car was repaired without authorization. Never received an estimate. I had it towed to the shop 7/2/13 regarding a broken upper control arm mounting bracket. In addition I am being charged for a brakeline that the company broke, brakeline hardware, brake fluid, 5qts of automatic transmission fluid, alignment, and $[redacted] labor. When I spoke to the owner I was advised that if welding was involved the price increased to $**/hr which I have no problem with. My car is a 1987 Olds, Custom Cruiser station wagon and I would never have agreed to the total price I am being charged which is [redacted]. I was never notified the my car was being fixed until I went to the shop to check on it 8/20/13 and found my vehicle with the control arm fixed and a broken brake line. I was then informed about the alignment and transmission fluid.Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay for the control arm $[redacted], alignment $[redacted] and $[redacted]

Yes I like my car but I would never agree blindly on any repairs to be done on it. Yes I called prior to having my car towed to Macjecko's but I was never ever quoted any price for anything. As far as driving past the shop, I have not even been in the city of Struthers since I picked up my car. No one in their right mind would approve repairs without knowing the cost. My car was driven into my driveway and parked until I had it towed to the shop. The transmission and brakes were both working. I had someone to look at my car for me but never was any repair attempted. When I was told what the problem was is when I had it towed. There is no way that I would put [redacted] worth of repairs in to a car this old. I would have just bought another car. There is no reasonable explanation for not contacting me to give me an estimate prior to forcing this kind of expense on a faithful customer of several years. This company has always had my contact information and if necessary I will pull telephone records to prove I was never contacted by them. If it is not illegal, it should be, to railroad a loyal customer into these extreme charges with absolutely no owners authorization. Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com called [redacted] requesting explanation of the billed items and requested a copy of the signed receipt [redacted] mentioned in[redacted] response letter. She explained she had verbal permission to do the repairs and the alignment is required due to the Control Arm repair. The labor charge was due to the necessary repair time. See the signed receipt.
