January 12 or 13 customer called in to check status of vehicle, and was informed of the repair; which was vehicle was running but still low oil pressure along with light coming on at times, and we would have to do further testing (at this point oil pump was reading correct PSI at idle and under...

load). Customer stated that he needed the car back as soon as possible due to that he was paying for a rentalcar.   When testing the oil cooler (which now could be tested with the correct PSI coming out of the oil pump) we notice a Crack on the radiator, I left a message for the customer that the radiator would have to be replaced and possibly the oil cooler. We spent several hours cleaning the oil cooler with chemical to wash out the sludge and. re-install it and remove and clean-again, continued with this process several times and could not the cooler to respond correctly, at the end replaced the oil cooler.Once the oil cooler was replaced oil light no longer came on and the knocking had stopped when driving at speeds 55 mph plus. When buttoning up all the loose ends on the vehicle the mechanic bumped the heater by-pass hose and it cracked, which was replaced. I contacted the customer informed them the car was ready and the price for the repairs. The customer wanted to go over the invoice with itemized details, which we did go over all the details, all parts shown to customer and explained why we took the route we did, customer stated that we could only pay $2700.00 at the time, if we could hold the vehicle until he is able to come up with the rest, I did offer the customer a payment plan so he would not have to keep paying for a rental car, which he excepted, in which he signed. The following day the customer came in and paid the $2700.00 and signed the payment agreement, and asked for oil cooler (the only part he wanted), which he stated was replaced about 6 months back. I informed the customer that we cannot rule out internal issues in the block, but the oil pump is working at the proper PSI.On February 20, I contacted the customer in regards to 1st payment, and he stated that he would not be making a payment, and his attorney should be contacting us, as well as the "Revdex.com". Customer came in on 12-18-14 due to check engine light, oil light on and knocking from engine. Customer stated that she just had put two quarts of oil. Some of the issues were addressed see invoice number it 87663 (service remarks).A work order was created on 12-20-14 to run a diagnostic test to see why the oil light was coming on as well as the knocking sound (knocking only when driving at 55 mph plus). It was discovered that there was an oil restriction. At this point the customer was notified of the issue, of an oil restriction which showed signs of the oil pump not working correctly; the customer was made very clear that we would have to replace the oil pump, but could not rule out any other problems. At this point we were going to try to correct any (if) internal problems as far as sludge buildup with chemical (BG Products) and stronger detergent oils, which would hopefully brake down any sludge build up internal before we replaced the oil pump. The customer was given an estimate of $2800.00 plus tax (12-22-14), and this point the customer was informed again that we would not know if any other parts that are needed until we have it completely apart. The customer gave approval via phone (###-###-####) and was given a completion date of 01-05-15Customer came in approximately on 12-29-14 to check status of vehicle; customer was taken out to bay one and informed we were waiting on several parts (0-rings, timing chain tensioner, etc...). At this point customer was informed again that a lot of these parts were taking several days for the parts to come in due to the dealer did not stock them and the holiday between for shipping. One example that was given to the customer was the timing chain tensioner, the tensioner is good, but they manufacture does not sell the 0-ring for the tensioner separate and the only way to get the 0-ring is to purchase a new tensioner, which is not part of the originally estimate. Customer left at this point.Approximately first full week of January starting to put the oil pan, timing cover back together, the mechanic informed me that he could not get the oil pan and splash guard any cleaner that what it was. I had left a massage for the customer to give us a call to inform them. I located a recondition pan and splash guard, which was in better condition and we were able to clean so there would be none to very little sludge or burned oil caked to the pan.
