damaged shown in the photos that were provided were related to thecrankshaft failure. At this point we would sugges that a certified [redacted] service centerprovide a failure analysis of the damaged crankshaft.If it is determine to be a [redacted] issue, they would be responsible for repair. July 17, 2017Dear [redacted],We are in receipt of the above complaint. Here is our side of the dispute.[redacted] did purchase a chipper-shredder from a lawn and garden dealer, not MacKissic directly. Our records indicate that he purchased this on May 5, 2013. We received his product registration...

on June 12, 2013.[redacted] sent an e-mail discussing quality issues on December 5, 2016. Our warranty (copy attached) is limited to two years from the date of original retail purchase for consumer purposes. His complaint was received 3-1/2 years after original retail purchase date. (1-1/2 years past the covered warranty period.)We did have internal discussion and it was determined that the product was out of the warranty period. Unfortunately we cannot locate any documentation that this was relayed to the Consumer.At this point if [redacted] wishes to take his unit to a dealer for failure evaluation we would review his claim. We are not interested in providing a refund, but after the dealer's evaluation, we may consider getting the unit in operational condition based on the dealer's determination of failure.If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,Richard D. President
