*** had a service announcement regarding failure of the terabit hard-drives, of which my computer was oneThey contracted with MacLife out of Boise who sent a technician named "***l" up to replace the driveWhen I quested him about losing my data he informed me that I shouldn't have any concerns as I have "Time Machine" with automatic bato an external hard-driveUpon completion of the installation he told me that he had started the baprocess and due to the size of the data it would take "4-hours to complete." I had errands to run and when I came home before my softball game at 6:pm the computer said there was still (paraphrased) "hour and minutes to completion." When I can back from the game at 9:pm the "back up" had finished and there was NO data backed up and my computer was basically a clean boot as seen with brand new computers!!
A phone call to MacLife in Boise lead me to the owner "***" who said there must have been an "error" on the baand, most importantly, that their contract with *** only states "that we replace the hard drive and we are not responsible for data recovery." Classless act, which doesn't surprise me considering they represent ***, who has become an arrogant anti-customer service corporationWell ***, you are a unethical and immoral individual who hides behind the "black & white" of contracts versus standing up and doing the right thingI feel sorry for your family!

They contracted with MacLife out of Boise who sent a technician named "[redacted]l" up to replace the drive. When I quested him about losing my data he informed me that I shouldn't have any concerns as I have "Time Machine" with automatic back-up to an external hard-drive. Upon completion of the installation he told me that he had started the back-up process and due to the size of the data it would take "4-6 hours to complete." I had errands to run and when I came home before my softball game at 6:45 pm the computer said there was still (paraphrased) "1 hour and 20 minutes to completion." When I can back from the game at 9:20 pm the "back up" had finished and there was NO data backed up and my computer was basically a clean boot as seen with brand new computers!!

A phone call to MacLife in Boise lead me to the owner "[redacted]" who said there must have been an "error" on the back-up and, most importantly, that their contract with [redacted] only states "that we replace the hard drive and we are not responsible for data recovery." Classless act, which doesn't surprise me considering they represent [redacted], who has become an arrogant anti-customer service corporation. Well [redacted], you are a unethical and immoral individual who hides behind the "black & white" of contracts versus standing up and doing the right thing. I feel sorry for your family!
