We had them inspect and clean our fireplace, and their service was prompt and courteous

I requested Mad Hatter company to replace chase cover on my chimneyAt the time this was scheduled, I spoke with the office manager, Ms*** *** and requested to please make sure its done absolutely right and send me the picture after the installationMs*** sent me a picture of installed chase cover and I noticed a dent in one corner of the newly installed chase coverI was afraid that dent would have a crack where water can leak and that may create a leak in the chimney and will result in water damage to my houseI contacted Ms*** and explained about the dentMs*** responded stating that “That's not a dentThe chase cover is made to slope so the water will run off.” I was not convinced with her explanation and later I sent her a picture of all four corners and an explanation of how one corner is dented and different from other corners and that this could cause water damage through the chase coverI requested that it need to be replacedMs*** responded that sh

I contacted this company for an inspection as I was going to be selling my homeThe company came out and said we needed to installing a flue liner which they quoted us $for this serviceI had another company come out and do another inspection and they said that I didn't need anything done and that installing a new flue liner was totally unnecessaryI feel they tried to just make a saleAlso, this ended up making the purchaser of my home back out because they didn't want to have to pay for the service

The company came out to clean my chimney sweep and I told the salesman that I had chimney all in one that needed cleaned out He proceeded to try and clean from the inside and I suggested doing it from the roof because of the way my chimney sweep was and the way it opened from the insideHe proceeded to tell me that he always does them from the inside so I stood by and watched He looked up in chimney and suggested it might be better to clean it from the top So he took his poles and sweeper on the roof Took pictures and did the sweep from the roof I know the one side of the chimney was cleaned out fro the bottom and the other was not because I could not get the chamber open myself and I told the guy thatI know for sure he did not clean the other side because he did not even go over there or Ever turn his vacuum onI proceeded to ask him times how it got cleaned out if he never took the vacuum up on roof or even turned it onHe said oh yes its been cleaned out I did it

So, I was asked for a chimney inspection due to my home being under contractMadd Hatter was called and asked to inspect itTheir technician made a long list of repairsI wanted to appease the buyers but wanted to get a second opinionI called another local chimney sweep company and had them do another inspectionAfter further review, half of the work was not neededI truly feel that this company was trying to gouge us to make the buyer happy and to put some extra cash in their pocketTheir bid on the work to be done was over $The company I used was under $and they did alittle extra work on the roof flange for meLast but not least, I have called the Madd Hatter twice with no return callI would not recommend this company to anyone
