I am rejecting this response because: Why would have to lie about the reimbursement of $and it is understandable that when I purchase the headstoneI left it in the hands of the owner if he knew that he was deceiving me when he wrote the order up he should have fully made it known that the headstone was going to be laying on the groundAs for the refund of $I had my husband, my brother and my son listen to him offer to refund $and in turn explain that I needed to pay an additional $to place a bench out thereTo me business practice is to ensure the family has a full understanding as to what the headstone that is being place not discuss about the property be sold for lost of a love oneThis man has still not place the vase out there and let alone make it seems as tho what is out there is what I purchaseBefore I gave him the total payment he ensure me, my sisters that it would be standingAs for a footer he did not show us gravel he showed us concreteSo there fore I felt my family and I have been rob of what was shown and further more I have no reason to lie when it comes to being deceive by an individual that did not deliver the correct items that was explain to us out in front of his officeEvery mortician I showed here in Texas as to what this owner did has no respect for when it comes to explaining to the families what they are purchasingI have the brochure and there is nothing in there showing gravel for a footerYes, I made a mistake when I wrote and that it was but where does it say on my invoice that the footer was going to be gravelI want it fixIf it is to be layed on the ground put my footer that you showed me(cement) with the vaseOr remove the gravel and refund me my $ Regards, [redacted] ***

The decorations in the video are only from Section 4-D, her son is NOT buried in that section, the only decorations removed that week were in Section 4-DWe removed NO other decorationsAs Ms*** has suggested her son has been interred in the cemetery for years and for those years we have removed the decorations as per the cemetery rules and posted notice at the cemetery entranceThis policy has not changedRespectfully Submitted, Thor T

I am rejecting this response because:My name is Ms*** *** *** in response to MrTresponse, AArtifical flowers and grave decoration not permitted from April to November 1.BBut ALL HOLIDAY DECORATIONS WILL BE REMOVED WITHIN ONE WEEK. It was a Holiday it was the weekend June 17, Father's Day.CFRESH CUT FLOWERS are PERMITTED IN A SUNKEN VASE ANYTIMEPolicy has been effect since June 21, The video has nothing to do with the location to where Ms*** Son Is buried I explain to MrTmy sons Decorations that I put on his grave site for Fathers Day on June 16, was not on my sons grave site when I went back on Friday June 17, However MrTtold me the pile of decorations that was is in the pile, had been piled up like that on Thursday June 16th he ( MrT) had left the decorations in a pile, so if any of the family members came to the grave site from anytime starting at 3:30pm Thursday June 16thuntil the morning of Friday June 17, so if any of those Family members came between those times they could savage through the pile and see if they could find any of there love ones decorations and they could retrieve them, before he(MrT.) proceeded to TRASH them the morning of June 17, MrTwent on to say the area that the decorations in question were in was a new area and that people that was buried in that area they start using the are in 2010. MrTtold me they started using the area in 2008.Ms *** was unwilling to give her sons name . I felt uncomfortable with that question, I do not want my sons grave site to be Vandalized that is where this situation at hand has my mindset todayI am very upset about this.MrTstated the video in question has nothing to do with the location to where her son is buried. In a way it does because my sons decorations was not on my sons grave site when I went back on Friday June 17, MrT.t went on to say that the items was removed because they are not in compliance with the rules and regulations. I explained to MrTthat is not true because a lot of the flowers that is seen on that video was FRESH FLOWERS, which as MrTstated the rules and regulations states FRESH FLOWERS are PERMITTED in a sunken vase ANYTIMEMrTtold me that all the flowers that is seen on the video were ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS, as I told MrTthat was not true and I advise him to take another look at the video If my sons decorations was TRASH this past Fathers day weekend, and that was not the location in which the landscaping was doneWhat happen to the Cemetery being locked up at a certain time? Is that not done anymore? Because my sons grave site was violated on the same day and time I never got an explanation of my sons grave site. Respectfully Submitted Ms*** *** ***

I am rejecting this response because:There was never a question as to how much MrT*** benches or any other headstone, nor was there clarity needed on the sections of cemetery, etcMy complaint and problem is that MrT*** has grossly inflated and changed his pricing for accepting a bench or other headstone type to EvergreenI was quoted a price and he should be held accountable for honoring itHe keeps mentioning internet vendors, etc, that is irrelevant and not the issueMrT*** is familiar with the cemetery business and I'm sure he understands clearly what my problem is

The requirements for memorialization of a grave in Evergreen or Eastlawn Cemetery in Section 4-A, 4-B, 4-C, 4-D, 4-E or 2-13, with a bench type memorial is as follows: Seat-Length 36 in, Width 16 in and 4 in thick, Legs: Length 14 in, 4 inches wide and 14 in tall. Our price for this gray granite...

bench is $1400.00 including lettering on the seat surface and a design of the customers choice. The foundation or footer fee is calculated by square inches @.82 cents per square inch, so 36 in. length and 16 in  width equals 576 square inches, multiplied by .82 equals $472.32. Sales tax is .075, which totals 140.42. The grand total for this bench is $2012.74. This price point has never changed in our discussions, it is the same as quoted. If Ms. [redacted] has shopped on line I have no idea what prices that she was quoted, but I did send her a text stating the size required to memorialize the grave. She insisted that she would like to purchase a bench which does not conform to the size of the other 400 benches in this section where her loved one is interred. The size that she has found on the internet is: Seat-Length 36 in,14 in wide, and 4 in thick, Legs- 12 in long, 4 in thick, and 14 in tall. Please read the warning on your internet quote, suggesting that the customer must consider requirements and restrictions of the cemetery. This size is not permitted, we have attempted to establish a uniform appearance of markers or monuments in this section. I am quite sure that any of the vendors on the internet would be happy to quote her a price for the size bench that the cemetery requires. Further, there is an installation fee for work that the cemetery would do to install internet monument sales. All Columbus local monument vendors, Evergreen included, do not have a separate surcharge or installation fee to install monuments that we manufacture and deliver to the cemetery, this fee is built into the price of the monument. However, a internet company must rely on the cooperation of a local cemetery or independent contractor to install the monument when it arrives in Columbus. The monument is delivered on a semi-truck, so someone must have a forklift or front end loader tractor to remove it from the truck, uncrate the monument, inspect for damage, notify the purchaser of the arrival, take the monument to the grave with the tractor and assemble it at the gravesite. Evergreen/Eastlawn are the only cemeteries in Columbus to accept outside internet monuments, but we do charge a fee to receive and install internet monuments depending on size, weight and complexity. Ms. [redacted] can purchase the stone from anyone who sells monuments, contrary to the suggestion that this is an odd size, every monument dealer, whether local or internet has access to the size we require. Ms [redacted] does not have to use our staff or equipment to erect this memorial, I'm sure that some independent contractor would be willing to accept delivery and place the memorial for a fee perhaps less that what we charge ($350.00). Also, we cannot change the memorialization requirements 'mid stream' in these sections to suit each individual circumstance, that would be unfair to those who have already purchased monuments and are adhering to the rules. Finally, we do wish to offer condolences to Ms [redacted] and her family for their loss of a loved one, and do not wish to compound this stress

All cemeteries in Columbus Ohio have essentially the same decoration policy as Evergreen/Eastlawn Cemeteries. There is a sign posted at the entrance of the cemetery approximately       3 feet high by 4 feet long. The sign states A) Artificial flowers and grave decorations are NOT...

permitted from April 1 to November 1.  B) All holiday decorations WILL be removed within one week.  C) Fresh cut flowers are permitted in a sunken vase any time.  This policy has been in effect since 1926.  I am in receipt of the complaint filed by Ms. [redacted] and additionally I spoke with her on the phone this morning (June 21, 2016). And while I am saddened to know of the loss of  Ms [redacted] son ( of which she was unwilling to give me his name) I understand that he passed away 18 years ago.  The video which she is referring to has nothing to do with the location to where her son is buried. This section where the decorations in question were removed was opened in June of 2010, only 6 years ago so therefore he cannot be buried in that section. Additionally,  I offered to provide a copy of written rules and regulations regarding grave decorations at the office and to meet at the cemetery entrance to review the rules on the posted sign.We make great efforts to keep our cemeteries in a respectful condition. The recent clean up is an effort to maintain not only the aesthetics of the cemetery, but also helps us to properly maintain the grounds (with the use of tractors, backhoes and mowers) and ensures the safety of the visitors and groundskeepers. We removed the items because they are NOT in compliance with the rules and regulations. We ask for everyones understanding and assistance as we maintain our cemeteries in good condition. Respectfully Submitted, Thor T.

Evergreen Monuments - Complaint ID [redacted]--------- Forwarded message ----------From: [redacted]Date: Thu, Oct 12, 2017 at 2:12 PMSubject: Evergreen Monuments - Complaint ID [redacted]To: Revdex.com [redacted]Hello,Attached is the response and supporting documents for complaint ID -[redacted] against Evergreen Monuments.Respectfully Submitted,Thor T[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Why would have to lie about the reimbursement of $100.00 and it is understandable that when I purchase the headstone. I left it in the hands of the owner if he knew that he was deceiving me when he wrote the order up he should have fully made it known that the headstone was going to be laying on the ground. As for the refund of $100.00 I had my husband, my brother and my son listen to him offer to refund $100.00 and in turn explain that I needed to pay an additional $1000.00 to place a bench out there. To me normal business practice is to ensure the family has a full understanding as to what the headstone that is being place not discuss about the property be sold for lost of a love one. This man has still not place the vase out there and let alone make it seems as tho what is out there is what I purchase. Before I gave him the total payment he ensure me, my sisters that it would be standing. As for a footer he did not show us gravel he showed us concrete. So there fore I felt my family and I have been rob of what was shown and further more I have no reason to lie when it comes to being deceive by an individual that did not deliver the correct items that was explain to us out in front of his office. Every mortician I showed here in Texas as to what this owner did has no respect for when it comes to explaining to the families what they are purchasing. I have the brochure and there is nothing in there showing gravel for a footer. Yes, I made a mistake when I wrote 390.00 and that it was 320.00 but where does it say on my invoice that the footer was going to be gravel.. I want it fix. If it is to be layed on the ground put my footer that you showed me(cement) with the vase. Or remove the gravel and refund me my $320.00
Regards,

Good Afternoon, I am at a loss to reconcile the suggestion that the cemetery has changed the cost for the installation of an internet purchased bench. It is 350.00 and has been 350.00 for two years. Again you do not have to use our services to accept delivery and install this monument/bench you are certainly able to use an independent contractor to perform the same service. Perhaps the internet provider has a list of persons in certain geographic areas willing to do the work at a less expensive rate. Ms [redacted] was told that the concrete foundation fee is $472.32, which the cemetery will install, this fee does not include the installation of other providers monuments, it is for the foundation only !! Respectfully Submitted, Thor T[redacted]

Revdex.com complaint ID – [redacted]Evergreen / Eastlawn Cemetery & Monument Co.Good Day,The contract signed by [redacted] to manufacture a headstone for [redacted] dated May 18, 2017 (Attached) describes:A) Material to be used: Grey GraniteB) Size of marker: 2-0 x 1-0 x 0-4C)...

Design Code - [redacted] – photo attached “In God’s Hands”D) Layout provide to customer (Attached)E) Signature of [redacted] approving contract (Attached) The headstone was completed and installed at the grave in 69 days, well within the 60 – 90 day guarantee offered to [redacted] for the completion date. Subsequently, I spoke with [redacted] via telephone regarding her concerns about the headstone and I told her that she received exactly what she paid for on the contract. She insisted that the headstone be placed upright. I told her that the stone she purchased was not designed to be placed upright, and that the section (of which over 2,000 people are buried there) is specific to types of memorialization that can be placed at the grave - either flat or flush markers or benches. (Photo of section attached). There are no variations or exceptions.Further, I offered [redacted] two options:A)  I would give her full credit for what she purchased - $1,064.75 to be applied for the only option for an upright memorial, a bench, and that [redacted] would have to make up the difference in cost for that upgrade. This would be an additional $1,000.00. She could then keep the headstone which was already completed and we would reposition it as a footstone, at no charge.B)   Give her a refund for what she paid, but understand she would not be able to get a headstone that did not conform with requirements of the section, either a flat marker or a bench.I would like to make it clear that I never offered [redacted] a refund of $100.00.Regarding the Footer – there are concrete cubes at the bottom of the thirty (30) inch deep footer, with 57 crushed limestone gravel over top as a leveling feature for a flush marker, and gravel placed around the stone to rd grass growth. It is important to understand that all of the headstones in the cemetery have foundations underneath and that the cemetery has a responsibility to maintain the grounds for perpetuity. As you can see the footer fee for this marker (on the contract) is $320.00 – Not $390.00 as Ms. [redacted] has stated in her narrative.
