Maddy's Pool Supply & Service Reviews (4)

My experience was extremely frustrating. In October 2013, our family returned from a short vacation to find our pool had turned green at our home in Scottsdale. Our regular pool guy had recently moved to Michigan, so we did not know who to call. I remembered that I had heard an advertisement on [redacted] Christian radio for "Maddy's Pool Service," so we called and set up an appointment. A technician came out and indicated that the pool needed salt for the salt water chlorinating system to start working, but he did not have any salt on his truck. He stated he would return that week with salt. Despite my call to Maddy's, noone ever returned with salt. Now remember that we are in the middle of an Arizona summer with kids and a green pool for over a week, so I called another pool service who came out and fixed everything in one visit. I cancelled my $183.14 [redacted] payment to Maddy's because they did not provide me with any value whatsoever. So now, 6 months later, I am receiving collection calls and have already received 4 letters from collection agencies. I am going to pay the bill just to preserve my credit rating. I thought that I was doing a good deed choosing a company that advertised on Christian radio. But, as they say, "no good deed goes unpunished."

I purchased a new home in March of 2016 with an existing pool expecting it to Sparkle and be swim ready on a weekly basis considering the amount I pay monthly to Maddy's. I continually have to call to get someone back to either brush or vacuum the pool when I requested full service at Inception. I recently had a broken pool drain cover, found Maddie's and left 3 messages as well as two emails to have the gentleman cleaning repair since this is part of the service. Not only did I get no response, the man came and went two weeks in a row never mentioning anything about the cracked pool cover despite Arizona state laws. Needless to say I've dropped of them due to lack of customer service, they only answer the phone when it's time to collect payment. Definitely do not recommend this service to anyone!

I tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt, I asked all the important questions when I called, what services were included what the $105 dollar a month fee covered since there was no contract and the website gives little to no information; at that time I was told by Heather" Everything is included, you wont have to worry about anything. Well that was indeed a lie, I questioned the technician about pool related issues to which he had no knowledge, could not tell me what the levels should be, basically stating he just skims the pool; poor guy. Anyways this company managed to lie on multiple occasions , that latest and last incident came when they attempted to charge $5 a bag for shock- in addition to a chemicals that " were needed" per Heather. I questioned as to where or why all of a sudden after 2 months of service would these items be an additional invoice? Have anything to do with me complaining about and asking to remove the hidden $90 service fee they attempted to charge the month before to fix a $12 gasket ring --hmmm? Well needless to say Heather's attempt to an explanation fell short, she insisted the fee be paid as if it came right out her paycheck. This was the worse experience with a company I have ever had. They were trying to nickle and dime me every chance they got, and overcharge for simple tasks. That's no way to build relationships.. They also over billed when my husband paid the last invoice, something we disputed and was refunded by the bank. Customer service is not a priority and with their poor business practices I do not foresee this company lasting long. I trusted them with my home for 2 months to long.

I am extremely disappointed with the service received by Maddy’s Pool Supply & Service. I had entrusted their expertise to care for my pool for the past 13 months. However, I am now faced with having to pay over $6,000 to resurface the plaster of my pool that is just over 5 years old, which seems to be mainly caused by the water chemistry being off.
I originally contacted Maddy’s in January 2013 and the pool technician came out to let me know about the services they offer. At that time, I also asked if the pool water needed to be changed out and was told that it wasn’t needed at that time. I decided to go with their Full Service Pool Cleaning plan with weekly cleanings, water testing and addition of pool chemicals. After a few months in, I noticed a decline in the appearance of the pool and I contacted Maddy’s to let them know of my concerns. I was assured that our pool was being cared for by one of their best technicians and that the water testing levels were all okay. I also called a few more times over the period of their services and was again assured and no problems were ever reported to me.
I then contacted them in February 2014 to have someone come out to look at the pool itself and see if there was something that could be done about the appearance of the plaster. They sent out their remodel representative who I later learned is also the President of the company. He seemed a bit surprised at the appearance of the plaster. He then took a water reading and they were off the charts and asked who had been maintaining the pool. To his shock, I told him I had been using his company for the past 13 months. He told me he would get in touch with me the next day to let me know what my options would be. Well, it’s now been a month later and there has still been no return call. I did call Maddy’s a few days later and was even given [redacted]’s direct cell phone number as they said I would need to communicate with him directly. I left messages a few times over the following 2 weeks and again no response.
Therefore, I cancelled my weekly service with Maddy’s and contacted my original pool builder to see what they recommended. I asked them the same question I had asked Maddy’s about what is going on with my pool. They explained the issues I was having with the pool and the causes of them in full depth, something Maddy’s never did. This other company will not even drain my pool due to the condition of the plaster which they state is due to poor water maintenance.
I now realize I should have gone with my gut when I first noticed the decline in the pool condition and I wanted to warn others to do the same so that they are not faced with similar issues.
