Reviews Car Window Tinting Made In The Shade

Made In The Shade Reviews (%countItem)

I own a *** Ford F-250 *** truck and I had made in the shade tint my windows last year and the tint began to peel and had defects in it. Since I'm a Pipeliner and travel all over the United States I was not able to have it repaired until august of 2017. The owner Sandy R said she would repair the tint. I told sandy since it has to be removed for repair I would like to just reinstall all new tint around the truck including the front windshield and the visor. Sandy decided she would just take the cost of the tint job and deduct 50$ from it since it had to be repaired for free anyway. I paid sandy 130$ for the tint she installed last year that was not installed properly and she only reimbursed me 50$ on the new tint job that she installed at 300$. So now that puts me at $430 total in the tint job. I get my truck back and the tint has bubbles, trash and very poor workmanship. I did not notice the flaws until the next day when the sun was out and at that time I noticed the flaws. Sandy said give it two weeks it will all look good. I then noticed where they tinted over my expired inspection sticker and I took the truck back to made in the shade to have them repair this problem. Sandy said it was my fault for not telling them to remove the expired inspection sticker and that I would have to pay to fix it. Sandy had her tint guy cut the tint around the inspection sticker and remove the sticker then patch the whole with a piece of poor workmanship. I have tried to get her to just remove all of the tint that is not installed properly and reimburse me my money or repair all of the tint and I would be ok with that. Sandy wants me to pay them more money to fix the tint that they installed poorly. I need help from you guys to correct this issue thank you.

Made In The Shade Response

I am in response to the letter dated Oct. 11, 2017 from the Revdex.com regarding Mr. ***.
Firstly, I was not in the office the week of Monday August 28 thru Tuesday Sept 4, 2017. My husband passed away on August 30th, so there is absolutely no way Mr. spoke with me. He spoke with Debbie who was in charge, the appointment was made on the 29th of August & the job was completed on the 30th.
Secondly, Mr. had all windows tinted and signed the work order stating he was satisfied with the tint (see enclosed) invoice. We tinted the complete windshield. We tried to contact Mr. regarding the removal of the decal. We do not remove any sticker decal or graphic unless the customer asks us to. When I asked Mr. if he told Debbie or the installer to remove the sticker, he said no, laughed and said "Another Person pointed it out, I did not even notice" to be fair, I suggested that he pay 50% as well as I to remove & replace the window film; Mr. agreed. He then called me back a few weeks later and said No, my friends & girlfriend said I should not pay. I suggested that the installer cut a square, remove the sticke and piece in the film. Mr. agreed,
Lastly, I was harassed by 58 people on Facebook from LA, TX, OK because I would not refund, remove and replace the tint for no charg. I went from a 4.8 rating to a low of 1.6; most were giving a 1 star. It is noted n his page that since I will not refund him, he will make sure my ratings go down. It was so vindictive and evil that I had to shut down the company Facebook page. No on should have to put up with this foul falsity and harsh wording. I was made aware that Mr. harrassed another small business in the area as well as ***.
My husband and I built our business on our reputation for 25 years in the Tri-State area. We are known for our outstanding reputation and going the extra mile for our customers in the customer service area.
At this time I refuse to go any further with Mr., the stress that he caused me was something I did not need as I am countinuing to run a business carry on where my husband and I left off as well as fight cancer. I do not need this drama.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely & Best Regards,
Sandy R

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Let's start with I reviewed Sandy R's response to my complaint and after reviewing her side of the story, You guys can see what I am dealing with when it comes to the owner of made in the shade. Sandy R has made it clear that she is not responsible for her mistakes on the poorly installed tint job on my brand new ***' Ford F-250 FX4 *** truck that I paid $60,000 dollars for this year. Sandy R's response has a few things that are truthful and that is she was not at her business when she scheduled me to repair my first tint job that also was not applied properly that cost $130 plus tax to be repaired. At this time I chose to have made in the shade look over the tint job and agree that had to be removed to be repaired due to the peeling, bubbles, and trash trapped in the tint. The lady left in charge of her business told me they would deduct only $50 off of the new tint job that I asked to be installed which is in the invoice that Sandy R provided. In that invoice you will see where it says they installed a 5% visor strip, this is not a true statement. The visor strip was never removed which was a 40% tint, that I actually brought the tinter and the lady running the business outside to look at and I told them I wanted it removed and installed with 5% tint and also to be below the rear view mirror, NOT ABOVE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR as you will see in the pictures I provided. Another false statement Sandy R has provided you guys is that MADE IN THE SHADE was at a 4.8 star rating out of 5 stars before I made my review and sent my pictures out to social media for people to make there own ratings based on what they seen on the pictures and how Sandy R was choosing to treat me. Another false statement Sandy R has provided you guys is that she called me and was not able to reach me on the the removal of the INSPECTION STICKER that she calls a decal and I assure you it is not a decal it is an inspection sticker that should have been removed before tinting over it. Instead of Sandy R trying to make this right she is wanting to use the oh poor me I have cancer and my husband passed away for an excuse for some pity to get out of reimbursing me for the poor quality product she has provided on my brand new truck. Just to clarify the reviews that were made to bring her business page down to a 1 star rating, the reviewers were not only from LA, TX, OK, but also they were from PA, WV, OH, MI, NY, WY, MS, VA, Basically across the united states. The reviews were based on the photos I have provided you guys to look at and please take your time and look over the details of these photos on the cut job and poor alignment and pieced together tint. $130 plus tax and $327 invested into this tint on my brand new truck that I have yet to find anyone agree with what Sandy R has done here. P.S. If you guys need any other photos related to the comments she made in the reviews to her customers that were also dissatisfied and the way she talked to myself and fiance' on social media on her page to get a better understanding of how she really is to the little man on the totem pole, I can easily submit all of the photos of the conversations that took place during the time of trying to get Sandy R to either do the tint job right on her DIME and reimburse me the $130 from the first poorly installed tint job and actually install the new tint job properly or reimburse me for both poorly installed tint jobs and I will no longer pursue this business or Sandy R in my life time.Thank You for taking the time to read this and overlook the photos carefully and feel like you guys will make the right decisionSincerely

Made In The Shade Response

I am in receipt of the letter dated 11/9/17 regarding ***. I am literally dumbfounded how a human being can be so heartless regarding the passing of my husband & me wanting a pity party. In 25 years of being in business I have NEVER had anyone like this. Actually this statement was uncalled for, what does that even have to do with how I run my business?

I had several of my friends who are small business owners & they literally gasped. I am finished with this person who I have proof does this to other companies, beats them down until they give in to get FREE service, items!

It seems like *** feels as if he was wronged in life & the whole world owes him something. I am over the "you owe me" mentality. ***, I kept all of my derogotory & defemation of character words from you also.

Your hate will never stop my solid business.

Sandy R

Sandy R is wrong on this about me doing this other businesses the only business I that I used the Revdex.com for was regarding *** due to them changing the contract without my consent when they switched over from *** radio to *** radio which once Revdex.com contacted them *** immediately come to an agreement on there wrong doing. Made in the shade done a horrible job on the tint that I provided the pictures for justice as well as the public that has seen the vehicle and also said that they can not believe made in the shade will not fix this. Ms. if I need to get a lawyer could you just clarify that I would be better off to go that route? I figured sandy R the owner of made in the shade would own up to her mistakes of using a unprofessional tinter (third partly ) without my acknowledgment. The only thing that will resolve this case will be a refund. Made in the shade does not have the experience to install tint on a 60k vehicle and sandy r*** as you can read through her horrible hand writing is not a professional by know means herself it's just a matter of time before she is out of business. Trying to reason with sandy R is like talking a kindergarten kid that watching cartoons and you want to watch wheel of fortune it's just not going to happen because her mind set is that of a child and she is trying to run a business. Thank you for your help Ms.
