Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] The detail presented in this response was never offered to me, verbally or written All messages left with Madison Automotive were left unreplied In order to better understand the mechanic’s stance on the repair, I am requesting a checklist of what repairs were recommended, performed, and / or denied during each of the two repair sessionsI dispute the business’s account of the level of noise left with the car after the final repairThe noise is significantly worse than when the car was originally brought in Regards, [redacted]

Went into Madison Automotive with no problems, simply needing an oil change & left with truck bucking & trying to quit every time I slowed.I left Madison Automotive after getting an oil change with serious mechanical problems. My truck started bucking & trying to quit every time I came to a stop at a light or slowed in traffic. I called them within minutes & was told sometimes they hit a hose or inadvertently knock something loose when doing the oil change & to bring it back in. When I brought it back they claimed they put the emergency brake on (even though they left it on a flat surface & never warned me that it would be on)& that it was my fault the truck acted up for driving with it on. I did not believe them because the lever for the emergency brake was not up & the light never came on where it is on my dash. Only the check engine light came on. I called back after I left the 2nd time & spoke to the owner[redacted] who was extremely rude, belligerent & condescending. He said that it was my own fault & that I couldn't complain anyways because my truck has 200,000 miles on it. He did not care that my truck was fine when I brought it in & barely running when I left. I was horrified to be treated this way after coming there regularly for over 3 years. Never again would I trust them with my vehicle. They do not care at all about losing business or making things right.Desired SettlementI don't want a thing for them but to be accountable & warn others how they operate!!Business Response Im am sorry Mrs.[redacted] is dipleased with her services. We did do an oil change on her vehicle and we did apply the parking brake on her vehicle when we parked it. When she left she did not release the brake and it did cause some issues when she tried to drive with it on. She is also correct that the car was parked on a fairly flat ground but that doesn't mean that you should or should not use the parking brake. Different people have different habits and the tech that worked on her vehicle uses the parking brake in his normal routine. Unfortulately Mrs.[redacted] did not notice that it was on even though the lever was pulled and the light was on. When she returned the light was on and the lever was pulled and as she stated above she wouldn't use it on a flat surface so obviously it was still on from when the tech parked it. We cannot be responsible for her negligence or lack of knowledge of how her car works. The check engine did come on and the reason it came on is because the fuel pump is weak and when she drove with the parking brake on it over worked the pump and caused the check engine light to come on. 99 times out of 100 this would not happen but with her car having XXXXXX+ miles on it the pump is going to be weak. We did reset the light and let her know why it was on and the sequence of events. We also let her know that the fuel pump was working good enough for normal operation and that it may be fine for sometime but to prepare for it go fail in the near future. Again I am sorry about her experience but we cannot be responsible for her negligence or lack of knowledge about her parking brake. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As the response shows [redacted] Automotive chooses not to take responsibility & go further by blaming the victim. They were flat out lying about the brake light being on, only the check engine light came on. For this reason & the fact that I had to reach over the emergency brake area to sit my purse in the passenger seat & the emergency brake handle was not up I believe they did something wrong & are trying to shift the blame to me the customer.I only took the time to file this complaint so if someone researches them before going back they will be aware of how they operate since there is no chance I will ever go back.

I had Madison automotive to do some auto repair work on a 2007 Chevy Malibu. I was told after the work was done I needed a new engine. Madison automotive should done an compression test on the engine before performing any repair work. They put timing chain on the vehicle and then told me the engine wasn't getting any compression. They charged me $979.93 total price for repairs that still wasn't fixed. I recieved my car back from them still not running, I don't understand why I still had to pay almost a thousand dollars for somethings that's not running.Desired SettlementI'm asking for half of my money back from the business due to car still isn't working. If not a half refund a store credit or explanation of why they still charge me so much.Business Response When we received Mrs [redacted] Malibu someone else had already been working on it and the engine was disassembled. We were very descriptive in telling her that we could not diagnose the vehicle without reassembling the engine first. She approved that portion of the repair and said she understood. When we started assembling we noticed that the timing chain was installed incorrectly and engine was out of time. Once we removed chain to install correctly we found that it was the wrong chain. We then purchased a new one to install. We kept her informed of the process every step of the way. Once the correct chain was installed correctly and the engine was assembled we were able to diagnose correctly. Engine was in time and had 0 compression and would not run. Unfortunately it is not possible to do a compression check with engine out of time. Infact with engine out of time the compression reading will be off or incorrect. Im sorry she is having so many issues with her car but we helped her the best we could. We performed a service for her and kept her informed the entire process with her approval so we will not be able to do any type of refund.

Rude owner/poor workMy car was placed there by my collision shop. When I picked up my car, the stearing was off. The next morning I was at Madison Auto. Spoke to the owner, who was rude. He drove my car twice and called me over. His first words to me were "let me tell you something, we only did the alignment". I took it to the collision shop. My bill stated madison charged 500..for an alignment?I took my car to my tire shop because the tires were wearing wrong. They tested it and showed an alignment was never done.Desired SettlementTo stand behind the work they do and treat the people that keep them open with a bit more respect.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] ManagerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]Mrs [redacted] has never been a customer of Madison Automotive. We did however work on her vehicle at the request of her insurance company and [redacted]. Mrs [redacted] was more than rude when she came into our facility she was using profanities towards [redacted] in front of other customers as soon as she walked into our office. The profanities continued on her second visit and before she asked if we could help her she stated that we damaged or broke her vehicle. I then expressed to her that we were here to help her out of the situation that she created not us, and yes at this point I was rather rude about it. We then test drove her vehicle and found that it had a bad wheel bearing that was not due to the repairs or the collision that she had. I have since found out that she has hit something with the new right front wheel that was replaced and most likely knocked it out of alignment again. We aligned her vehicle twice for [redacted] and have all of the specs on file showing the alignment was in spec. Im sorry that she is upset but I don't think anyone is going to make her happy. We would gladly refund the $65.00 that we charged to align her vehicle if it would make her feel any better, but we have know desire to help her as a customer for any further repairs or assistance.

Air conditioner was suppose to be reapired, but was not repaired.I visited Madison Automotive on 4/3/2014 at that time I descussed with them the issues that I was having with my air conditioner, which was when I put Air Conditioner Freon into my car it would allow my vehicle to provide cool air for at least a month and a half and then would return hot. They told me that I had more than likely had a leak and that they were able to check my system and tell where the leak is. At that time I had the repairs made, which was the High Side A/C Hose [redacted], A/C Oil, Dye and the Refrigerant and Air Conditioner Hose[redacted], which all totaled $565.00.On 5/22/14 I Returned to Madison Automotive due to my air blowing hot air again. (This is approximately the same amount of time that my A/C unit gave when I recharged it myself with freon at [redacted], so I was out of 565.00 for the same results)Madison Automotive told be then that the leak was now in the[redacted] A/C Shradder valves and was going to charge me $152.22 more to repair the issue. I asked them not to repair the issue because I could not afford to pay them more money for the same problem that I had paid for already. I then took my car to another place and was informed that what they were attempting to charge me for a part that should have been inclusive with the High Side A/C Hose Assembly that I purchased. My initial repair order was 16492 on 4/3/2014 and the estimate they gave me on 5/22/2014 invoice number is 16880. If needed I can fax any information needed over. I just feel as though they did not complete the job because I had the same results as I did before they touched my vehicle. Desired SettlementI would like for my money to be refunded to me so that my A/C would be repaired properly. I would have been fine at the time of the second visit if they would have just repaired the issue with no charge to me, but due to me having these issues I would prefer to do no other business with this establishment.
