The program was great at first until I got to the end that's when I found out about all the lies and about all the extra fees that I was going to have to pay no one tells you that it's beginning of the program then when you asked to know what your payoff would be if you asked that question and you don't have the money You could be sued which never was said to me the company as a whole is OK but most of the employees there are a bunch of liars the manager does his best but we had certain people running our account that were just full of lies and never return phone calls

MADISON MONROE & ASSOCIATES Response • Jun 13, 2019

Mr. and Mrs.

Please allow me to clarify that we do not earn any additional fees as we are a Federally Regulated company. We simply charge a flat % fee based on the total amount of debt enrolled. In reviewing your account, I can confirm that we earned the exact flat fee down to the penny that was explained in the enrollment process and stated in our agreement. Moreover, we only earn our fee if we settle a debt; therefore the two accounts you removed during the process we did not earn a penny from. Our fee structure is very simple as we do not earn a monthly fee, enrollment fee or any other fee unless we settle an account. After which we earn our fee for that particular account once you have received the savings. My team is available to go over your fees and show a breakdown if you wish as we are very transparent with our clients. We successfully settled your $38,467 of debt down to just a fraction of what you owe and hopefully you now are enjoying a debt free lifestyle.

Additionally regarding the contact comments, I personally remember on our phone call discussing our 11 attempts through phone calls, emails and even mailed a letter asking for you to contact us that all went unsuccessful. I apologize that we did not meet your expectations and will discuss with my staff other avenues in which we could contact a client.

Finally, I apologize my team wasn't able to communicate properly that the reason why getting a payoff without intention of settling the debt will hurt future negotiations. When I spoke with Mrs. Mcnutt back on 1/25/18 the call ended with Mrs. Mcnutt telling me she now understands. I wish she would have contacted me back to further discuss as I was under the impression she understood. Remember, If we contact a creditor and arrange a settlement but then do not have the amount of funds, that creditor will offer us a higher settlement in the future. If we do this multiple times, it could hurt our relationship with that creditor and could result in a creditor becoming more aggressive once we agree and then do not deliver on the settlement.

Id like to wish you both the best and good luck in all your future endeavors, we apologize for not meeting your expectations and will use your review as a method to improve our company.

Madison Monroe & Associates are professional, friendly, and efficient. All staff members that I have dealt with have answered my questions promptly and honestly. They have truly looked out for my best interest and have made negotiations with my creditors that I have could never have done. Alicia, Joe, Mary, and Lily have worked with me and for me and have helped me look towards a brighter future. They are ALL AMAZING individuals!! As each creditor is being paid off, my credit score was lowering, but it is now steadily increasing once more. I highly recommend this company for helping you get out of debt instead of turning to bankruptcy. I also used this company for my student loan forgiveness. *** is the nicest, most informative, and a wealth of information when it comes to student loan information. He kept me informed every step of the way and made great efforts to see how I could get the best deal with my loan forgiveness. Great company, honest people, worth every penny to be out of debt and repair your credit. God Bless them.

MADISON MONROE & ASSOCIATES Response • May 06, 2019

Mr. had the unfortunate situation where one of his creditors *** sued him, it does not happen often, but there are times when a consumer can get sued by his/her original creditor. We are not Attorney's but we still assist our clients if a law suit is filed on an account a client has enrolled into our program. We reached out to the Law Offices of *** who was representing *** and began negotiations with *** the Attorney handling the case. We had instructed Mr. that we were in the middle of negotiating a fair settlement for him and his spouse, he requested the contact information of who we were negotiating with. We provided Mr. with *** phone number and contact information. Mr. contacted the law offices of *** and worked out his own settlement with *** for 100% of the balance. Mr. then asked us to pay for the settlement with the funds he had available in his trust account. We agreed to send the monthly payments for the settlement he had agreed upon, but made it clear that he would need to extend the program because he signed off an a 100% balance payout and we did not have that amount of money collected. At that point Mr. demanded that we pay the difference from the amount of money he had paid into the program, to the balance owed for the law suit. We explained to Mr. that would be impossible as we did not agree to the settlement that he signed off on, he interfered with our negotiations and agreed on his own to the terms. We did not even charge him a fee for the work we had done, we even sent payments to the law firm every month for him, again for free, since he is a valuable client of ours. We can do a lot for him, but we cannot pay his debt for him. We have made it clear to MR. that we have no problem continuing to send the payments to the Law Firm for him every month, we wont even charge him for the service, but we need him to continue drafting so we have the funds available to send them. We have made it clear that it is extremely important that he make a payment or he will null and void the settlement and loose all the money already paid to them $5,139.47. The total settlement that Mr. agreed to was for $7,508.09, we have been begging him to resume drafting, as we do not believe he is understanding the consequences of missing a payment. We wish Mr. understand the seriousness of this matter and understand that we are not at fault, we just simply want to help him finish the settlement and put this problem behind him.

If you read Mr. complaint, you can see where he states that we settled his Bank of *** account to his approval and he was happy with the program. Unfortunately *** filed a Law Suit, we attempted to settle it for him, he took matters into his own hands, ended up taking a settlement he later regretted and wanted us to pay for his actions. Unfortunately that is not something that we can do for him.

It is mandatory for the working staff of MMA to obey and respect the agreement made in the Debt Resolution Program in its entirety. However, MMA willfully ignored the whole agreement described in No.2(engagement section) of the Client Service agreement by failing to work out a compromise agreement with *** from the very beginning. Their disobedience by not abiding to the agreement is the root cause of the ongoing problem. I dare say that if MMA faithfully acted according to the agreement in the program, this kind of problem should never happen. MMA stated in their letter, quote, "Unfortunately American *** filed a law suit, we attempted to settle it for him, he took matters into his own hands"
This statement is totally false, because MMA always ignored my repeated requests to communicate with *** and to convince them the actual situation of our ongoing program in order to avoid misunderstanding between us. If MMA acted as requested, *** would never hire the law firm to sue me, because *** should have been removed from the program in April or May, 2016. The problem arises only after *** hired the law firm thinking that the debt still belonged to me and I was responsible for the payment whereas, the debt problem had already been taken over by MMA on 04/21/2016. The problem was mainly due to lack of communication between MMA and *** It is not my fault at all from the beginning. As a matter of fact, MMA kept me at the end of the rope and later pushed me in to a trap where I had to struggle out by myself. As such, I was compelled to sign an agreement with the law firm to save myself when there was no help as MMA turned their back against me even after the *** hired the law firm to sue me. I really didn't know what to do. I didn't want to be indicted. MMA is
fully responsible for this problem because it is theirs. They wrongfully try to make it my problem.
They are not trustworthy. There is no truth in them. They are SCAM artists. I want to add the true story of my debt problem in the attachment to support my claim.

MADISON MONROE & ASSOCIATES Response • May 15, 2019

We are deeply saddened that we are not able to make any progress on this matter with Mr.. We have tried everything within our power to help him understand, that we do not automatically assume his debt. Mr. refuses to understand, that a person cannot go and enter into a settlement on their own and then force someone else to pay for that settlement. We have spoken to Mr. over 50 times on this matter, we have begged him to please make the payments to the program so he does not void the *** Settlement, we even told him that if he does not want to work with us, to simply contact the Law Office of *** and pay them directly, but to please do not skip a payment. We are begging him, not to blow the settlement. We truly care about our clients and hate to see them lose money. but Mr. is very unreasonable. He wants us to pay for the settlement that he agreed to out of our own pocket, that is not how things work, that is unrealistic.

We have been in business over 10 years and have never been in a situation like this one. We have done everything right, we did not even charge him a fee since he worked out a bad settlement on his own. We even agreed to send the payments for him, again for free, just because we felt bad of the situation. But for Mr. to now demand that on top of everything we have done for him to pay off his debt out of our own money because he regrets the settlement he entered into on his own is ridiculous and unheard of. No company can be forced into paying someones debt for them, that is not how things work, that is frankly illegal. And, now he want's to file a complain with the Revdex.com, thinking that will force our hand and have us pay off his debt, that is just wrong, on every level.

In conclusion, we have tried to help Mr., he did get sued by ***, that is accurate, we were unable to stop the law suit because all his funds were tied up with the *** of *** settlement, that he applauded above. We did not know *** was going to sue him, we have hundreds of *** Accounts enrolled in the program, and not all of them sue. *** of *** gave us a better settlement at the time and we accepted it, Mr. was happy. Then *** sued him, that was unexpected, if we knew they would sue him, we would not have taken the *** of *** settlement first. But, like we have stated before, it was an unfortunate turn of events. That did not stop us from helping him, what that did was throw the settlement percentage off as with a Law Suit the settlements tend to be higher. We were working with the Law Office of *** to come to terms, Mr. panicked, which he admitted above, disregarded our orders not to interfere (we had already settled his *** of *** Account) why would he not think we could help him? He went ahead, contacted the Law Firm, agreed to a settlement on his own and now wants us to pay for it out of our own money, not his. None of this makes sense, quite frankly its unbelievable. We are actually at a loss for words here at Madison and Monroe as we could not have handled the situation any better.

We apologize to Mr., this is not the ending we would have liked, our goal has always been to see him eliminate his debts and we are truly saddened that we were unable to accomplish that for him. We would have loved to see him complete his *** settlement, he is on his way to voiding it as he is refusing to make payments, we have begged him not to void the settlement as a lot of money has already been paid to them. If we did not care about Mr. or our clients we would not be pleading with him to honor the settlement. We wish nothing but the best going forward to Mr. and hope and pray that he reach out to *** and continues making his timely payments, so he does not lose the money already paid to them.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have told you about my problem with MMA in detail on 5/9/19; 5/10/19 and 5/11/19. The responses given
to my complaints were only fabrications to hide their faults and to upset me. They never tried to help me on my debt with *** from the very beginning. Instead they always ignored my request to contact and to convince
them about our ongoing program. But, MMA ignored it.
When we made a deal on 04/21/2016, MMA promised me that they would take care of my debt problem. So, I paid $431.45 every month for 33 payments making a total of $8,097.85. My original balance with American *** was $6,742.98. MMA insist that I must continue my payment till 10/2019 to make the total payments of $18,120.90. Now, they are forcing me to serve two masters concurrently. How can I do that? unless I were insane. It is truly an act of scam and fraud. If you read all my complaints with all the attachments you will find who is right and who is wrong.

a great company to work with first class customer service the only negative I found was they didn't tell me that every thing that is written off counts as income and your taxed on it.

Madison & Monroe pulls through with everything they have told me they would do, they are professional, courteous an so very helpful, they have taken away a lot of anxiety I have had due to financial issues. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM ALWAYS.

Amazing company that have helped several in my family get out of debt and back on track. They are knowledgeable and understanding to your individual situation. Always available to answer your questions and keep you updated on the the progress. Would definitely continue to recommend to anyone looking to get out of debt and stop the harassing calls from bill collectors. Call today and find you relief . Tell them I referred you also and they will take care of you. Good luck and god bless

Madison and Monroe was superb in getting my debt resolved. Follow up credit repair services are currently underway and so far I am pleased with the support and help. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants to clear up debts and clean up credit scores.

Very good company. Helped me and my husband. I strongly recommend this company. Thanks

When I saw their advertisement I was skeptical but needed to try something with my finances. They were absolutely wonderful to me. They explained everything how it works and answered any additional questions. I have throughly enjoyed working with the company. They are awesome!â?¡ thank you!

I am having a very good experience with this company, I can sleep at night , my worries are gone. They took care of me, I should be debt free in one and half year versus paying the minimum and only in interest.
This is a company you can trust, the employees are polite, competent and interested in working for you. I really recommend Madison Monroe & Associates, Inc.

Madison & Monroe are real people that have been through their own program with their own debts so they understand! I have had 'life' happen & couldn't pay a few times. Alicia A. went above & way beyond to help us. She is always there for me & genuinely cares. Not many will say God Bless & have a good day! Alicia does & it means a lot!!

So far I am very satisfied with the results that I have gotten from Madison Monroe & Associates. They have been able to settle several of my accounts already.

MADISON MONROE & ASSOCIATES Response • Feb 21, 2019

Thank you very much for the kind words Mr. Vincent. I am thankful that you put your trust in us to get you debt free and you can see we are very motivated to accomplish that goal for you. Thank you again for being a valued client and I look forward to when I can personally call you to congratulate you on becoming debt free.

Vice President

Madison Monroe and Associates refuses to settle my accounts. My contract is ending and they have not settled all my accounts and refuse lump sum.
I emailed Madison and Monroe because the ending of my 30 month contract is nearing (2 months away) and they refuse to let the contract end on the date agreed to, they keep extending the payment time after time and they have already collected their exorbitant fee of 18% of my debt which was ($4,637.00).
I sent this email below:
From: ***
Sent: Saturday, March 10, XXXX XX:XX AM
To: ***
Subject: Settling these accounts
Mr. ***:
I wish to resolve all of my current existing debt with Madison Monroe via one lump sum payment. Please declare the amount of my total existing debt owed as of March 10, 2018. Upon receipt of the aforementioned amount, I will remit payment as a single lump sum, thus absolving my entire remaining debt & obligation, therefore satisfactorily terminating our debt-settlement agreement.
Madison Monroe Responded:
Good Morning ***, I hope this email finds you well. You bring up a very interesting question, one that requires us to answer, but unfortunately we will be giving you a ball park figure as we have an idea of what the creditors will settle for, but we will not have a final number until we agree to the actual settlement and work out the settlement terms. We have to negotiate with them and it's usually a back and forth, and depending on the day that we call them, we can get different percentages. If you have funds and would like to deposit $7,000.00 into your Global Account to play it super safe, then please do so. Keep in mind that any money unused will go back to you, you will never risk loosing that money.
If you would like to start by sending a few thousand and letting us settle some accounts first and then keep adding funds, we can do that also. The problem that we face here is that collection companies are smart, they know if we call and press them for a settlement, they will know the client is under duress and therefore offer a higher settlement. When we are allowed to call with no pressure, nonchalantly speaking, then the pressure is on them. If we call today and ask for a settlement, they may give us a low settlement, but they will want to money TODAY. If you send us the money, we will work out settlements knowing we have the money on hand to pay them that day and we will reach out to you before we send them the money to let you know the exact percentages so that you may better track your funds.
This process is never ending with them......
I also spoke with *** who added a Chase account and them Mr. stated it was settled...see below
Good afternoon Ms.,
I hope you are having a blessed day!
As friendly reminder, you are currently in a settlement with Amazon ending in *** until 10/06/2018.
You currently have 4 accounts left in the program:
Chase ending in *** balance $1,838.00
Dillard's ending in *** balance $902.00
Love Loft ending in *** balance $6,190.00
Pier 1 ending in *** balance $1,540.00
You enrolled in the program for approximately 30 months making payment of $543.47 on the 1st of every month. Starting on 5/27/2016 and per your request, your monthly payments were reduced to $493.47 and divided into two monthly payments of $246.74. The payments were accommodated to be drafted on the dates you provided. Said change increased your program length to approximately 34 months out of which we have received full payments for 28.
Please keep in mind that, as discussed by all previous representatives in charge of your account and as stated on your agreement, the program length is an approximation. It depends on the offers we get for the accounts you enrolled. We will only know when your last payment will be once we have the offers for the last 4 accounts enrolled (mentioned above).
Feel free to email me with further questions or concerns.Thank you for being a valuable client and I hope you have a great weekend! This company upon further examination has many many clients with similar com

Desired Outcome

I would like all of my credit card settled by the end of the agreed upon 30 month period without any additional extensions of time that cost me 500 a month for every month they extend. Madison Monroe said that if I did not keep paying them that all the accounts that they had previously settled will be considered unsettled and that I would of paid all that money for the last 3 years for nothing. They have already received all my payments on time and I have never missed a payment, and I know they have collected their 18%. This company is a fraud. They swindle you into signing quickly and then taxing on an exorbitant fee. They sent sending numerous bothersome emails and numerous phone calls agitating me to settle my debt with their company. I believe it is only fair to end the contract on the date agreed upon with all my accounts paid off as agreed. Every time I email I get different responses from different people. I originally emailed the Revdex.com 2 years ago with my hesitations but the company seemed to start effectively working to eliviate my debt as agreed but now that the contract is ending, and they are saying that they have accounts that haven't been settled yet and they have been receiving my money every month. After dealing with this company and paying them all this money I would of saved NO MONEY and I will have paid more money than i should. i was trying to do the right thing in paying off the debt that unknowing accumulated while getting my Masters Degree but now they are trying to take advantage of me and I cant afford it and I just want my contract to end accordingly with all of my credit cards paid off as originally agreed.

MADISON MONROE & ASSOCIATES Response • Mar 20, 2018

First and foremost, we need to clarify that Madison, Monroe & Associates is fully regulated in which we only collect our earned fee on accounts we have settled with no upfront or monthly fee. We are performance based meaning if we cannot achieve a settlement, we do not earn our fee. Ms. is mistaking that we have earned any fee on any account we have not saved her money on. Ms. is also mistaken that she enrolled into a 30 month program, as on May 21st 2016, she added an account to her program extending her plan to a 34 month term. We have attached that document here as it is irresponsible for a client not to mention this aspect in a complaint; fortunately we have the signed document. All of this information has been relayed to Ms. by the owner of Madison, Monroe, & Associates including that she altered her plan by lowering her monthly payment. Obviously a program would need to be extending, but again the attached hand signed document clearly shows Ms. was aware of this change to her program terms that she requested. Ms. even copies the email from our client service department reminding her of the 34 month program term yet her desired resolution is for us to complete the program in 30 months. Again, ignoring the program change when we acted responsibly by achieving a hand signed document so the client is aware of the new changes.

With respect to the complaint of the client not saving any money or us being a fraud, please allow us to remind the client that to date we have settled 8 of her 12 accounts from $22,719.02 down to only $11,083. Once again, all of this information has been provided to Ms..

It is also unfortunate for the upsetting words Ms. used to describe our company considering just 60 days ago she gave us a positive review to the Revdex.com:

01/11/18 *** S.
PositiveI am a believer. I am coming upon my 30 month mark (4 months away) of paying off the credit card debt that I accrued while my receiving my Masters in Healthcare Administration. I did not even honestly know that I had accumulated that much debt in the 2.5 years time, but I had and Madison Monroe & Associates, helped me work through it all. We developed a plan and its almost complete. I was hesitant at first but once the process started and I started receiving notifications from the companies themselves of the payments being made to them directly and that they had agreed on a settlement, I started breathing a lot easier because I knew that the end was near and it was only a matter of time that I had to buckle down and stay diligent on my monthly payments and clear this credit card debit up. It has been a lifestyle change and a struggle, but most importantly has been a RELIEF. I am free and clear and ready for a fresh start.
60 Days ago she was a believer in our help and that we are a huge relief, but today she believes we are a fraud?

It is greatly disappointing that our efforts have not been able to meet Ms. expectations. Throughout her program, she has been assigned to every single account executive we have here and has spoken to the majority of the managers, the vice president and even recently the owner himself. While we want to make every effort to satisfy every client, we feel that the A+ rating we have held for years with the Revdex.com, over 200 five star reviews on Google and face book, along with our award winning no upfront fee debt relief program; we have acted in the clients best interest to get her debt free. We have successfully enrolled over 11,000 clients into our debt relief program and have settled over $65 Million worth of debt for clients resulting in a savings of $34,541,271.00. It is truly unfortunate that through our best efforts, we have been unable to meet Ms. expectations but happy to announce she is almost debt free.

We'd like to remind Ms. that it is her own funds that is needed to complete the accounts enrolled, not the unwillingness of MMA to complete her program; however if she would like to cancel our agreement to please inform our staff. We do not charge an upfront fee or a monthly fee, therefore any accounts Ms. would be removing are accounts we have worked on for free without compensation. She has that right to cancel at any time and can settle her remaining accounts on her own if she elects to.

Madison Monroe & Associates have been excellent in helping me get my students loans manageable/forgiven. Their communication has been very professional and all matters were taken care of in a timely manner. Sheldon, Joe, and Estela answered any and all of my questions to make sure I understood exactly what I was signing and what to expect from their services. Their monthly newsletters giving tips and information about how to manage your finances have been so helpful. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for help with student loans or any other financial matter.

Mr.

Your Debt Relief program is set for 36 months in which you are only 11 months into the program. If you would like for the program to work faster, please contact your assigned customer service agent so we may adjust your monthly payment to have you graduate debt free sooner. Since your enrollment 11 months ago, we have successfully settled 2 of your accounts and we are well on the way to delivering our promise of having you debt free based on the program months you signed up for. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to graduate you faster however each program is custom made with options during the enrolment period for the client to choose what plan is best for them.

I have also noticed that your assigned customer service agent has spoken to you and emailed several times since your enrollment. However, many of our clients have different expectations as to how often they would like to be contacted. Some prefer monthly while others only want updates if there is any new information. Your customer service agent will be contacting you via email and phone to discuss how we can provide better customer service and provide you with payment options to graduate faster. Thank you for your time and providing your much value feedback
