September 27, 2016Good morning,In response to the complaint filed by a former resident, I have provided documentation that the resident did receive and signed, or has confirmed receiving, which states that she was to keep the utilities in her name until the end of her lease, which in
this case, was 7/31/The utility addendum included was signed by the resident on 5/22/at the time of her last lease renewalIn this addendum I have highlighted the areas clearly explaining that if the resident does not have the utilities in their name, that they will be charged a $fee for that specific billing.The physical move out date of any of our residents, once we receive their notice, is at their choice and discretion, but the lease contract will extend to the end of their notice date by legal guidelines Our resident was told that the move out inspection can only be done Monday through Friday between the hours of AM and PMShe was not asked to alter the physical moving day in any manner, but was informed that our maintenance team would not be able to inspect the apartment on 7/31/due to the fact that it was a SundayWe did offer to do the inspection on a separate day of the week.I do express all apologies to this resident she may have misunderstood the information conveyed about the inspectionHowever, she was notified of all details related to the utilities in her apartment and how to handle the move out procedures.Sincerely,Jody W
