Client agreed to a charge of $639.95 on 8/**/2014 and then changed mind so I issued a refund for $639.95 today, 8/**/2014.

Madison Who's Who has been trying to reach [redacted] to discuss his complaint and reach a satisfactory resolution. Can this be arranged? Perhaps the moderator can arrange a conference call with MWW, Revdex.com and [redacted] - Please advise.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made...

by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and I probably have not responded by phone because, as I have stated to the MWW solicitors, I work every day in places where my phone does not have service.  I would be willing to have a moderator from Revdex.com arrange a time for a phone conversation between MWW, myself, moderated by Revdex.com.  It would be best to make this arrangement with email, because I don't have good phone service consistently.
Sincerely,

Review: I was being called by a sale representative of Madison Who's Who in July. I spoke at length with a rep on July **, 2013. The rep went into a spiel eventually getting wanting to sign me up for $700.00 yearly subscription to be listed with their registry. I declined and said I'm not interested and hung up. I was called again on July [redacted], 2013 at 10:10am and as soon as the caller identified herself as representing Madison Who's Who, I very clearly stated DO NOT CALL ME ANY MORE, I'M NOT INTERESTED. I then hung up. I got another call from them at 10:16am and again as soon as the caller identified herself as representing Madison Who's Who, I stated I DON'T WANT TO SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LISTING, STOP CALLING ME!!!. I got called again today, August [redacted], 2013 and the same thing. They seem to not want to take me off their calling list.Desired Settlement: I want them to STOP calling me. I don't want their service, yet a different sales rep keeps calling me.

Review: I was called and told I have been selected for inclusion in the next Madison Who's Who book. I received subsequent calls requesting a signing that I don't recall signing. I received bothersome calls stating that I was chosen for some special additional inclusion which would require more info and another $400.00 I was told the first payment was for the book, and then for some membership on another call, and that there was some press release which I never received, called to inform me of a glass plaque which was being sent, requiring another #300.00+ dollars, and recently called to verify information and another $400.00 was required for the actual book. I was told, and I have emails stating so, that they tried to send the plaque to me but could not send it because of the P.O. Box address, and I gave someone that address when called. My complaint is simple. I believe this company is not operating in good faith. So far, I have paid $200, plus $332, plus $400, (not including the $400 mentioned earlier in the letter, which I did not pay because my card was blocked by my credit union because of a hacking), and have not received anything but a promise that something will be coming in March. I know that phone conversations are simply my word against theirs. I have a printed copy of every correspondence I have received, and I believe simply viewing them is evidence of foul play. The invitation is not readable on my computer. Just 2 small icons, which show nothing when I clicked on them. What I would like is for this company to be investigated, and for my money to be refunded if there is any evidence of foul play, misrepresentation, or other illegal activity.Desired Settlement: A refund if there is any evidence of foul play, misrepresentation, or deception. So far I have no reason to believe they are really producing anything that matches their representation of what they are doing. I don't believe it is legal to say you are selling someone a ford mustang for $800, and they never state that the ford is a plastic model car. If the product they claim does not match their claims, then I want a refund. A $3.00 glass plaque is not valued at $300.

I went to the confirmation page which ended up being a registration page for this supposed "Global Professional Network" - I noticed the it confirmed NOTHING and this website was a complete information gathering site and was completely misrepresented in the email. I then got a call from [redacted] at ###-###-#### and he wanted to registered me with a few more clarification questions into Strathmore's "Who's Who". I told him I wasn't interested and to please stop calling me. Today I received a call on my work cell from from ###-###-#### who claim to be "Madison's Who's Who" They have relentlessly been dialing me while I am at work on my work phone. It all stemmed from this original email that sent me to : http[redacted] website. I do not take soliciting lightly especially at my job and when all my telephone #s are on the do not call list.Desired Settlement: Any one related to any WHO's WHO product, service, company etc. needs to leave me alone and STOP contacting me immediately.

Review: Madison Whos Who sales representatives charged my discover card for $219.95 without authorization. When contacted I was informed that purchase of the registry was expected of members and that it was already printed and being mailed to me. A customer representative negotiated lowering the price to $99. An e-agreement was forwarded to me. Less than 24 hours later, I learned that the registry was not being mailed to me. Therefore, I decided it was a scam. I never signed the e-agreement and I forwarded an email to customer service requesting a credit of $219.95. Madison Whos Who only credited $120.95 to my account. I spoke to [redacted] on 7/**/13 and was informed that because I disputed the charge with my credit card company, they have done all that they can for me. She would not let me speak to a representative in the finance department. Her statement was that she was instructed not to give me the number or forward my call to finance because they were busy. My credit card company is unable to assist. Customer service stated that Madison Whos Who must agree to credit my account. I do not understand how a company can insist on forcing an individual to purchase a product they do not wish to receive. I am not interested in the registry and have informed several customer service representatives of Madison Whos Who that I am not interested in conducting business with Madison Whos Who and to remove my name from the registry (As of 7/**/13, the registry has not gone to print. Sales representatives are calling to obtain updated information from members) if that is what's needed to credit my account.Desired Settlement: Please credit my Discover Card the $99 and warn others about this scam. Some may think that $99 is nothing, but for hard working individuals it is something. Businesses should not get away with charging a hard working consumer's credit card without authorization.

4/**/2013 Received a credit card dispute for Registry $219.95

4/**/2013 Issued credit of $120.95 for the Registry and fought dispute - Credit card company resolved this dispute in our favor

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I did not sign an e-agreement for purchase of the registry for $99. My decision to not sign the e-agreement was because a sell representative from Madison Whos Who falsely indicated to me on March *, 2013 that I had to purchase the registry becuse it was already printed and mailed to me. The registry was not mailed to me.

Again, Madison Whos Who is pressuring me to purchase an item I do not wish to purchase. Please see attached for a chronology of correspondence.

As of June **, 2013 a sell representative ([redacted]) contacted me via phone and stated to me that I would be credited the $99, because I filed a complaint against the organization. To this day, I have not received the credit on my discover card.

I do not understand why I am forced to pay for a registry I have not received and do not wish to purchase.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

This charge was disputed with the credit card company and resolved in our favor. She can arrange a time and date to call in and speak to our Finance Dept. if she wishes to resolve this matter once and for all. Please advise. Thank you.

Review: After cancelling my membership with Madison Who's who, I emailed this business and clearly stated that I do not want to buy their services. They tried to sell me their registry book with about 3 or 4 phone calss. I told them that I would not buy it. In December 2012 despite my negative answers and statement that I do not want to be a member they witdrew the membership fee from my mastercard. After many calls they returned the amount. The Finance Director [redacted] assured me that there would be no charges taken from my account ever again. I have now realized that, again, without my permission this business took about 20 Dollars from my Mastercard in: * February 2013 * March 2013 * April 2013 * May 2013 * June 2013 * August 2013 I have been e-mailing them but noone answers. Do I need to cancel my credit card everytime I buy a product from USA? If you wish to see I have e-mails that will support my statement here.Desired Settlement: I want Madison Who's Who to be punished for this unethical behavior and want the refund to my credit card of about 120 US Dollars.

Response:

Today, six credits, each in the amount of $19.95, have been issued back to [redacted]'s account as requested.

Review: This company contacted me, telling me that they were a free professional listing service. I was told that there was no cost at all. So I spent ages on the phone with them, giving them my information, only to be told at the end of the call that in order to be listed there would be a substantial cost. I was incredibly frustrated, but chalked it up to my own foolishness. I told the person I was not interested, that I believed they had misrepresented their product, and that I was no longer interested in being contacted by their company. The person argued with me, and I eventually ended the call. Since then, I have had no fewer than 6 calls from the company, each time from a different person. I have asked each time to be removed from their call list, but clearly I am still being contacted. This company is a scam and they are harassing me by telephone.

Business

Response:

Review: This company calls me repeatedly to offer their sales pitch. I declined their first sales pitch and received a second call. I forcefully declined the second sales pitch, and the following day received a third call. This company's sales tactics cross the border into harassment. Their company might also be a scam. They wanted me to pay an enormous sum of money to be listed in their supposedly professional network directory, and when I tried to decline their "lifetime offer" they offered me several cheaper options. Then came the follow up phone calls. This company will not take "no" for an answer. (They have also been repeatedly calling a colleague of mine, who has not taken any of the calls.)Desired Settlement: I would like this company to stop harassing me (and my colleagues).

Review: Greetings, We spend resources on security awareness: attempting to raise awareness in our University community to be suspicious of people or systems requesting their personal information. The report below is from one of our community to our abuse email: "Just checking in about a phone call I received a second ago on my work line. I was told that I had been nominated for listing on a professional organization that included many [University] students and employees, as well as representatives from [another] University. The caller was very pushy about asking me to confirm my personal information with her. I asked her to provide me with a web link, and she directed me to this site: [redacted] After I refused several times to give out my personal info, she said she would have her supervisor contact me and hung up. You might want to see if other employees/students are receiving these calls." She received a second call: "The supervisor did call back, and repeatedly pressured me to confirm my information. She mispronounced the name of our school twice. I told her that I thought this was a scam to get my personal information and asked her not to call me again. Maybe inform others that if someone calls from this organization, they are very pushy."Desired Settlement: The company web site at [redacted] lists a Revdex.com rating of A+. That is misleading given the company's recruiting tactics. They should change it, or Revdex.com should request it be changed. Otherwise, no settlement really needed, just reporting.

Response:

Madison Who's Who is a networking company. We contact people who have expressed interest for inclusion. Naturally, like any network, we create profiles for our clients. Nothing about this equals strong arming people for information. When an individual is not interested, we place them on a do not call list and they are no longer contacted.

Review: I was told by Madison Who's Who that I would receive round-trip airfare for two to a variety of destinations. However, the terms & conditions of the Travel Agency booklet (One Stop Travel) Madison sent me had an expiration date of December **, 2010, even though I signed up with Madison in 2012. When I called the travel agency on three occasions they never answered my call or returned my phone call after I left a message with my phone number. Madison did not honor the service they offered and that I paid $308.95 for. I was also enrolled in a virtual networking chat room at a cost of $19.95 monthly, which I did not request and was not informed about when I purchased the services of Madison Who's Who.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $308.95 which was the initial fee I paid for their services.

Business

Response:

Madison Who's Who is a business networking company. The complimentary airline voucher/travel packet is simply a free gift offer we send to our valued clients. The travel packets we have are all stamped however, they do not expire. had [redacted] contacted us, we would have informed him and assisted him in regards to the free gift offer - not the service he actually purchased.

Secondly, [redacted] was never charged the monthly fee of $19.95 because he opted out of that optional, additional service.

As previously stated, we offer business networking. We did not sell him airline vouchers. We sent the packet as a free gift. However, a full refund was issued in the amount of $308.95 today, 9/*/2013, in order to resolve this issue.

Review: Multiple lawyers in our firm are reporting that they are getting strong solicitation calls from a company called Madison Who's Who. They are also asking for credit card information directly and aggressively. They have been told not to contact our firm again, but continue to do so.Desired Settlement: Our desired outcome is that Madison Who's Who immediately ceases to contact any [redacted] & [redacted] attorneys or staff, in any of our offices.

Business

Response:

Kindly provide me with the phone numbers or names of people we are contacting and I will remove them as requested.

Review: In order to resolve a previous complaint against Madison Whos Who for unwanted services, I submitted payment for $99 on 8/**/13 to receive a registry of contacts. I have not received the registry. I have been disputing this company for about a year. I wish to no longer conduct businees with this company.Desired Settlement: Credit my discover card account with $99

Business

Response:

Discover card agreed with us in regards to the dispute process and resolved this in our favor however, to resolve this once and for all, we issued the $99.00 refund as requested today, 10/*/2013.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for a 1 year membership and paid in full. All of a sudden I noticed a charge for $19.95 on my credit card for a few months. When I called to inquire they told me it was for a PERK and that they tried to reach me by phone and email and when I didn't answer they began charging my credit card that I gave them for the membership payment. They did not have authorization to charge me for some PERK that I do not want or ask for. They began charging me on May [redacted]. This is a scam!!Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the $99.75 they charged me. They were not authorized to do this.

Consumer

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Madison Who's Who of Executives and Professionals Throughout The World, Inc regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: The company has made 2 charges, one on August [redacted] for US$199.33. I was on travel and they never told me about any charge, and had no Internet and no way of checking my online credit card account. Today, a person identifying himself as [redacted]) called me about a service, and I specifically asked if any charges were to be made. He told me no charges were to be made untill I approved them, but nonetheless, 5 min later an email from [redacted] arrived with a receipt for $639.95 for an order number [redacted]. I tried contacting them via phone, and they told me no one was available; so I also contacted them via email, and said that I had approved the charge; I replied that I wanted to hear the audio of the conversation... on a subsequent mail they offered to lower the payment $.300.00, something I do not wish, so I told them to reverse the transaction. I have not heard from them.

I had to cancel my credit card to impede any other fraudulent transactions.Desired Settlement: I want a complete refund for the aforementioned transactions (total $839.28), to rescind my membership, and also a refund (preferably full) for any and all payments I have made to these crooks.

Business

Response:

Client agreed to a charge of $639.95 on 8/**/2014 and then changed mind so I issued a refund for $639.95 today, 8/**/2014.

Review: My daughter, who is part of our family cell phone account, keeps receiving several telephone calls each day from Madison Who's Who. She has told them repeatedly not to call anymore, i.e., to remove her from their list, that she does not wish to do business with the outfit. The reps say they will remove her from the list, but the calls continue. If she does not pick up, the calls continue throughout the day. This has been going on for weeks. It interferes with her postdoctoral work. It is so extreme so as to rise to the level of harassment. We know that this is a documented scam. She has reported this business to you. She told me today that you replied that this matter is beyond your scope.Desired Settlement: Please comply with my daughter's stated wishes: Stop calling, and otherwise contacting, her, and certainly do not contact me or any member of my family.

Business

Response:

Please provide me with the telephone number being called so I can add it to the do not call list. Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The matter will be tentatively resolved when the business forwards an Email address that enables me to respond to their proposal. [redacted] They request my daughter's telephone number; I see no Email address in their response to which I should reply. At the point at which I Email my daughter's telephone number as they request, time will tell whether they desist; as my complaint indicates, they have failed to desist upon oral requests by my daughter. Should you wish to relay her telephone number for me, I can give it to you along with her name. I will not do so here because I do not know whether the text of this Email will appear on your website; I want to protect her security. I am sure you understand.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Please email [redacted] with the telephone number(s) you would like us to put on the do not call list and we will d s immediately. Thank you!
