Magazine Service Center Reviews (%countItem)

The company did not accurately represent their relationship with the Atlantic; I am current want to discontinue; I would prefer no fee for that.
When I was contacted in October, I spoke to someone who was training, who was very confused about my address and the status of my subscription. I told her I believed I was current and she said this was not accurate, so I did agree to an extension, but it turns out I was current. I do not want to continue with this company, and I do not want to pay their cancellation fee, nor do I want to be referred to collections for something I have not received. Thank you.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking cancellation of the future subscription with no fee, and an agreement that this is resolved.

The magazine company advertises that is has an A+ rating with your company.
The company said that if I pay 2$ per magazine I would get a yearly subscription. After paying with my credit card they changed the 2$ to $14.95 per magazine after 2 weeks and that it would be automatically charged to my credit card.I called and cancelled and they told me that it takes 48 hours to show up before I could cancel. I know that I will probably have to close my account be fore they begin taking out $14.95 per mag every 2 weeks!

Desired Outcome

Cancel my order, return my money and stop contacting me.

The company has taken the hold off my credit card, problem solved, I hope. Please be advised the magazine company is continuing to use the AAA rating of your company.

Telephone number doesn't work.

Charged for a magazine subscription that I did not order and never received
Noticed a charge on my bank account dated 1/11/2019 (when my February statement arrived). Called my bank to follow up; there was no address or number attached to the withdrawal. I attempted to do some investigating over the next 2 months by looking up "Magazine Services" that was on the auto check but would not find them or a number to contact them. Looked up the 4 subscriptions that we currently get and none of them had been renewed this year. Called the bank back; the bank agreed to do some investigating mainly due to my husband's name on the auto check was not spelled correctly and address was printed incorrectly, as well. Bank was able to find a number to call with an account attached to it. I called X-XXX-XXX-XXXX to follow up on account number XXXXXXX. After some initial "$100.00 offers" I was connected to a male who I told I was calling to get asked if I was speaking with "Magazine Services"? He said "Yes, I can pass *** on to my supervisor to help you out with that but he again offered me a "chance at a shopping spree"; when I declined it before hearing the whole description he sternly told me I would not be passed *** to his supervisor if I did not listen to everything. I didn't immediately answer and he stated "I said something so you have to answer"; I said "ok"; so he went on to go through his shopping spree explanation and when I still said I wasn't interested he started to question why I wouldn't want to and then said I don't get to to talk to his supervisor and hung up.

Desired Outcome

Refund of 59.50 and no further changes in the future

Horrible! You get this thing where you can sign up for magazines and don't realize that it automatically renews! THESE MAGAZINES ARE EXPENSIVE!! And when you call after renewal fee's hit your statement, you get charged full price for 2 months. it is RIDICULOUS!! Don't do it!!

In January, I received an offer of two free magazines of my choice, but no details. Foolishly, I accepted, got one issue each, followed by a $35 charge on my bank report, I called the phone number embedded in the charge item and spent 1/2 hour going through robot automated "options" that never led to an answer until I screamed "representative!!!" for the tenth time, and finally got to speak to a human being, from "Magazine Service Center." After I reported my incident and demanded a refund, the woman promised to credit the refund within seven business days. If it doesn't come through, I will take action to prosecute these trashy people.

Stay as far away from this magazine company as possible. I got hooked up with them when I was offered free magazine subscriptions after a purchase through another vendor. I received 3 free magazines for one year. This company also started sending me a 4th magazine (People) for no reason. When I received the notification that the other 3 magazines were up for renewal, I immediately called and and canceled and kept records of my cancellation. I received another notice about a month later and when I called, I was advised that all of my magazines had been cancelled and no magazines were showing on my subscription. My debit card was just dinged for renewal of the People magazine subscription that I never subscribed to begin with to the tune of $140. If you call, you get an automated system that tries to get you to recommit to subscribing by telling you that they will refund your money if you accept another magazine. You have to listen very carefully to what is being asked and you are only able to respond "yes" or "no". Sounds simple, but in the same question, you are asked if you want a refund AND if you want to continue your subscription. There is no good way to answer these questions. By the way, the number shown on this website for Magazine Service Center will only get you to their "rewards center" where they attempt to "gift" you with more magazines. Beware, beware.
