Review: had magee repair roof leak had to come out tree times. asked 3 times if the roof needed to be replaced was told no.was told they fix right no matter how many times.roof still had leak in it same spot called them on 4/29/59 was told that they could not do anything more, that nails were poping out and I needed new roof.I feel I was lied too I let them put a sign on my lawn for a week still was up 2 weeks later. was told thw roof was in good shape but now I need one cause they wont or cant come to resove the issue.needless to say I will not recomend the, to anyone.Desired Settlement: like my money back the roof still leaks I need to hire someone else now

Magee received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] on 3/24/2014 inquiring about our services to address a roof leak issue that he had and whether or not it could be fixed or whether or not he possibly needed a complete roof replacement. Magee’s admin. staff informed him that a Magee Estimator would need to visit his home and evaluate his complaint in detail to see what was apparently failing and causing his leak.

A Magee rep did meet with Mr. [redacted] and discussed that a surface evaluation could be completed within the Magee service call. The service policy was disclosed to Mr. [redacted], highlighting the minimum service charge and what was being attempted to be done to his roof. Mr [redacted] agreed to have Magee perform the service/repair to the areas that were identified by the responding Magee rep.

On 3/24/2014: Tech performed and inspection of the entire roof and found two small holes in the roofing shingle in the reported area of the leak by the bathroom. Tech sealed the holes with [redacted], no other visible areas of water penetration were discovered. A time and material invoice was sent out for $113.08

A Second phone call was then received by Mr. [redacted] complaining of continued leaking, and on 3/31/2014 a Magee rep was re-dispatched back to the home. The roof was again checked (at no additional charge) and some additional areas for concern were discovered. Apparent defects and possible water penetration points were found due to various high nails beginning to break through the surface of some shingles, and areas that were originally installed and fastened with nails not in line with the manufacturers recommended installation procedures or standard practice were also found.

Approximately two to three weeks later a third call was received from Mr. [redacted], stating that a leak was still active. Again, Magee dispatched another tech and another evaluation was completed. Upon the arrival of the third response, no additional problems were evident.

Mr. [redacted] called a fourth time stating he was still experiencing a slight leak and was informed at that point Magee would not attempt any more repairs to another contractor’s work (Magee did not install the original roof), as base layers, flashing and other proper installation procedures could not be verified without stripping the roof off and completely replacing it. The overall evaluation by Magee tech found the original installation was an inferior quality as compared to standard practices and manufacturers recommended installation procedures. Magee tech did inform Mr. [redacted] that the apparent issues should be addressed by way of a service/repair before deeming the entire roof in need of complete replacement, thus saving Mr. [redacted] thousands of dollars.

It was explained to Mr. [redacted] that all service efforts have been exhausted within the original call and charge, and the only further option Magee was willing to offer was a free estimate for a complete roof replacement. As Mr. [redacted] still apparently does not feel that a Magee rep being dispatched on 3 separate occasions and completing multiple service repairs, for a total cost of $113.08, Magee will refund him his charge of $113.08 and request he does not contact us in the future, as Magee does not make it a practice to do business with unethical, unreasonable consumers. This is another perfect example which highlights the need for a BCB (Better Consumer Bureau) which would track all consumers like this that Business’ could review before choosing to even call a prospective client back.

[redacted] ill take my money back dont like being called unehtical or unreasonablr.some how I am to blame for the job not completed correctly thats insulting. in one sentace they saving me thousand then another I need new roof. well cant be both.they offered me no estimates for a new roof that just a lie. all I wanted was done right. its not my fault if they had to come out twice.if was done right we wouldnt be here
