Review: I ordered a garage door from Home Depot. Home Depot failed to send Magic City Doors to the house to measure and accurately describe the scale of the work to be completed. I paid for the Installation of the Garage Door and Garage Door Operator through Home Depot and even signed a Contract for the work to be completed ($700). I waited almost 2-3 months for the garage door to be delivered to the store. Magic City Doors picked up the materials and went to the job site to find that they ordered the wrong size door. I then was given the measurements and was told I had to order a custom sized door and track, ( an additional $400 dollars). I bought my own operator from sears (Craftsman $175). MCD then waited another 2 months for the supplies to come in and then scheduled an installation date. I called my property management company and told them to let MCD into the garage. On the install date Magic City Doors canceled and rescheduled another day (Property Management fee lost $100) . Finally he started work and my property manager opened the door and told MCD to complete the already paid task. 2 days of work went by and 1 of the tenants complained that the garage door worker started a verbal argument with him. I was notified by my property manager that the garage was complete and the garage was shut with the clickers in side. No final inspections was signed off on. I notified the install department at Home Depot about a week later that the Garage door does not properly close. About 5 months later I received an invoice for $700 from Magic City Doors for work that I already paid for through Home Depot. I contacted Home Depot and Magic City Doors and he decreased the bill to $400. Once I received the invoice for $400 I contacted Home Depot again and question the charges with the Head Manager again. They told me that I already paid for the Installation and parts and he should not be charging me anything. Magic City Door has other reviews online about doing less than desirable jobs and charging way to much after the job was complete. In my case It was 8 months later and I have contacted my Lawyer for legal advice
All Charges that I have been Billed by Magic City Doors is Inaccurate and Home Depot should have been notified if additional fees were associated with the scope of the job. But they were not notified and Magic City Doors went around the company policy and is trying to complete a very unethical business practice.Desired Settlement: I would like Magic City Doors to stop all communications. Nobody gave instructions to go ahead and rack up a bill and double charge me for labor. Tenants at this building have been notified and Cameras have been aimed at Garage Door. Police will be called for Trespassing and if adjustments are made I will file for Destruction of Private Property.
