It cost me over $1700 to get my property back and olny $390 to get the truck the inventory list is a page and a half of unreadable scribbleDesired Settlement: Be charged a reasonable rate for storage and the inventory

Response:
This vehicle was repossessed on 3.11.14. State law requires that the repossessing agency remove, inventory, and store all personal effects in the vehicle at the time of the repossession. This pick up truck was full of personal effects. We charge $100.00 per hour to remove and inventory personal effects and $10.00 per day storage for a contractors 34 gallon trash bag or equivalent. It took over five and a half hours to removed and inventory this vehicle. We only charged $400.00. There were twenty-five bags of personal effects. We only charged for nineteen, or $190.00 per day. This individual called on 3.13.14 to inquire about his fees. At that time, his fees were $970.00, but he stated he couldn't come to get his personal effects then. He picked up his personal effects on 3.17.14. His fees totaled $1730.00 for his personal effects, which he paid. Had he picked up his personal effects on 3.13.14, he would have saved $760.00. We had already discounted our services from $550.00 to $400.00, and from $250.00 to $190.00 times seven for a total savings of $570.00. This was all explained to Mr. X several times, once on the phone and once in person. He also received two letters that clearly stated our fees.
Thank you for your help in this matter. Please call if I can be of further service.

Response:
I am rejecting this response because:
I attached a picture of his inventory list. There are a total of 49 items he has listed that he stored and a picture of the bags there was maybe 10 bags and most were not even a 1/4 full. I put all of my property in the bed of a Toyota short bed pickup with room to put twice as much and not have anything above the sides.I don't think he would have tried to charge that much if the property wasn't worth so much.If it had Ben a bunch of old clothes that took up just as much room and took just as long to inventory he would never ask that much or he would be storing it for 60 days and get nothing for it .you could rent a storage unit that would be safer and hold 20x that amount of stuff for a month for 1/2 of what I paid for a day.
Sincerely,
