Maher Bros Transfer & Storage Reviews (%countItem)

Maher Brothers company moved in a new neighbor on *** and when moving truck was leaving and drove the semi truck threw my front yard.
On 11/19/2018 Maher Brothers company moved a new neighbor into the neighborhood. When leaving after they moved them in they drove threw my front yard. I was in contact with them on 11/20/2018 and they claimed they would have someone get in contact with me about fixing my yard from the damage done from the semi driving threw my from yard. I have emailed them pictures of my yard on the 11/20/2018 and tried to follow up with them via email again on 11/26/2018. Still no one will get back with me on what they will do to fix my yard. I have talked to a guy named *** and he was supposed to forward the emails to his bosses Will *** and ***

Thanks

Desired Outcome

I would like Maher Brothers to repair the ruts left in the yard and put sod down where they will have to after they re-grade they yard from the ruts left in it.

Maher Bros Transfer & Storage Response • Dec 20, 2018

The customer was instructed to file a claim form with the estimate for repair. Please send these to ***@maherbros.com

Items were damaged and broken due to heavier items stacked on top. Items left taken apart and in garage not placed in home when clearly communicated.
Items were delivered on 8-8-17. I communicated very clearly with the driver were items were to be placed. We communicated regarding items that were taken apart would be put back together and placed in the indicated rooms. As unloading was in the process, several times I asked the driver about the hooking up of the washer and dryer and uncrating of a items. He assured me that the home office was coordinating it and I would not have to worry about having it.
When I inquired about the hook up and disconnect of the appliances I was never told that I would have to pay additional for hook-up. I was told that it would be included in the price. As well as any items crated would be uncrated.
Once the movers started bringing in stacks of boxes on their dollies, it was impossible for me to check to see if they were in the correct spot because they had 4 and 5 boxes stacked on top of each other. They put the items in the room that was indicated on the top box. I would have had to move every box to make sure they were being put in the correct room at the time. As items were being brought in I noticed that boxes were crushed because heavier items were being placed on top of lighter items (such as garment boxes). I had clothes falling out of the bottom of several garment boxes because of being crushed by heavier items.
Closer to the end of the move, I indicted that I would have to take my husband to the airport. The driver indicated that they were close to being finished so they would need payment so that they could leave once done. I gave them a cashiers check in the amount of $10,713.15 which was the amount that was given to me by the home office.
When I returned home, they had left and I could not get into my garage because of the items that they left stacked 4 and 5 boxes high in my 2 car garage. I do have photos of how things were left and some look as though they were just thrown in and left.
Because my husband was out of town, I had to move enough boxes up a flight of stairs into the house to be able to fit my car into the garage. (as it states in the HOA that cars cannot be parked in the street). Because of this additional stress on us, my husband had to be taken to the ER (out of state)because of stress induced symptoms.
I then contacted our sales contact *** about the washer/dryer not being hooked up and he then sent me the home office contact (*** stated that it was not included in our fee.
I stated to him that I had other issues and concerns that I would like to speak to him about and he never called. I sent him an email the following day(8-9) and he never responded. I emailed *** and Mike Kabela on 8-10. I did receive a very curt email from Mike defending himself, however no apology or willingness to solve the problem. I did receive an email from *** stating that she was sorry for the problems that we had and included the website to file an insurance claim for broken items. She also offered to coordinate hookup of our appliances for a fee (I declined) and did say that the uncrating should have been done by the driver.
I have emailed and called several times with no response from their office. I waited a week for a response of any kind and did not receive one. I then placed a review on their facebook page as well as another fb page on 8-15 stating my dissatisfaction with their service. They replied stating that someone would contact me shortly. As of today 8-23-17, I still have had no contact from them. I did receive a text on my personal phone from their driver (8-15) asking me not to "bash" him (which I did not) online. I simply stated my dissatisfaction with the entire experience. Other than this I have heard nothing from the company or any of their representatives.
I have copies of all correspondence/paperwork/emails and texts from the company and their representatives. I also have photos, witnesses and other documentation to substantiate my claim.

Desired Outcome

I would have liked to have resolved this issue between the company and me without involving the Revdex.com. However since I am getting no response from them, I had no other recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. I would like to have a refund for services paid to them that were not performed as promised. When I paid to have my items moved, I was under the impression that they would not only get to my new location but get there in good condition, not broken and damaged. I was also promised that items would be put back together, placed in the rooms where indicated and not just put in my garage where I eventually had to pay someone else to come move into my house, not to mention the damage to items in boxes left in a garage at 102 degrees. This has been a very stressful time for my husband and I, as well as my entire family. We all have had damaged and broken items that have had to be replaced along with the additional costs of more movers, hospital bills, and extra expenses on top of the $10,713.15 that we had to pay. When I paid that money to Maher Bros, part of that was to have a less stressful move however, they made it completely opposite of that. A refund of my money would be the resolution that I am seeking from this.

The sales representative quoted moving weight to be 5,012 lbs., which was over-inflated by 1,500 lbs. I asked about refund, which was declined.
The sales rep indicated that the total weight for the freight was 5,012 lbs. When the driver arrived in Las Vegas, he told me that there was 3,500 lbs. I asked the company for a refund and they indicated that because I signed the estimate, the charge of $5,625 was binding and that I had to pay it.
I am complaining because I think the sales rep over-inflated the weight by @ 1,500 lbs, which caused me to pay more than I should have. I have a strong feeling that I'm not the only consumer who has been treated in this manner. If this pattern of practice is determined, then the company should not have any affiliation with Allied Movers.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a reduction in the amount charged because the freight weight was @ 1,500lbs. less than what I was quoted and given as the estimate. It is very unfair for the company to indicate that the charged amount was binding based on over-inflated weight.

Maher Bros Transfer & Storage Response

We have a customer signed binding order for service and it was explained to the customer by the salesperson that with a Total binding price guaranteed move, that the price will not go up or down, that is the meaning of a guaranteed price.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
A guarantee pricing based on artificially inflated rates. I was never provided with other pricing options. Their "contract" assumes the sales representative isn't inflating the quote.

Maher Bros Transfer & Storage Response

Our pricing policy on a TPG, total price guaranteed, is based on the estimated weight.

Packers and driver very professional and helpful.
