Review: Four weeks ago, I had my hair chemically/ permanently straightened here (she claims in her advertising to specialize in Japanese Straightening). It is a long hair processing treatment, and I spent several EXTRA hours waiting for the owner to service multiple clients at the same time -- but what are the options when you have serious chemicals on your head that require a professional's ministrations?!? The other clients were also irritated by the excessive overlapping bookings -- she was attempting to service 5 people at the same time. Collectively, everyone was irritated but being patient and still polite. My hair when it was fresh-from-the-salon looked pretty great ... but after a few washes and a week or so later, I realized that she had not put the product close enough to my scalp and that the newly straightened hair was clearly visible at a significant distance from the root of my hair. I went in to show her and politely/calmly asked what could be done, as the straightened hair was AN INCH AND A HALF to TWO INCHES away from my scalp/roots and only four weeks had passed (so this is not consistent with new hair growth rates). She tried telling me that human hair grows 1 to 2 inches every four weeks. This is an utter lie and a very lame and DISHONEST effort to not take responsibility for her mistake. The average human hair actually grows approximately 1.25cm or 0.5 inches per month. That would make me a medical marvel -- growing nearly FOUR TIMES the average amount of hair in a 4-week/one month period. She refused to do anything and instead patronized me with telling me that SCIENCE was wrong and that hair does grow that fast. Very disappointed. She had a chance to fix this, chose to lie instead, and consequently cost me a good bit of money (this process is not cheap, and I am a very good tipper because I respect that it is a process that involves a lot of time and work). I feel like I have been cheated out of an expensive service.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back. I went there politely asking her to fix the problem (I quietly waited until the shop was empty so as not to embarrass her in front of customers), and she mocked me and basically told me too bad. It wouldn't seem prudent to allow her to then apply chemicals -- that could potentially seriously damage my hair and scalp -- to my head if she offered to perform the service again, particularly if she is/was angry about the filing of this complaint.
