(the person I made the check out to, although not one of the two persons that performed the service - her niece and her mother-in-law), came to my home on 2/7/20 to provide a quote for cleaning services. She stated the services were $30.00 per hour. She also stated she would send two women. I specifically asked if it was $15.00 per woman per hour, or $30.00 per woman per hour - and she said $30.00 per hour (but not per woman per hour). We then agreed on a start date.
On 2/19/20, two women showed up and performed cleaning services for 2-1/2 hours. Prior to leaving, the two women demanded payment of $150.00. I said no, it should be $75.00 - *** quoted me $30.00 per hour. They quickly got *** on the phone. She then said, it is $30.00 per hour, but it's for 5 hours since there are two women. I said to her, you scammed me with semantics, and that is not what you quoted me.
I paid the money, as I was home alone and I am disabled and substantially older than those two women. Also, it was obvious by their behaviors (stopping right at 2-1/2 hours - which was *** idea of how long it should take them - not mine, their willingness to get *** on the phone without fuss - I didn't even have to ask, offensive body language - cornering me), this type of "one and done" scamming is customary for this business.
We are *** and *** owners of Maid To Be Clean LLC. We are responding back to the complaint generated by ***.It has come to our surprise that this complaint was generated since the disclosed charges of services to *** on 2/7/2020 were"understood", as stated by her.I am *** who went to *** residence on 2/7/2020 to give a quote to clean her home. Her husband was present also. Normal procedure is to ask questions pertainingto how often they are looking for their home to be cleaned and what exactly they would like to have cleaned. *** mentioned that she would like the kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms (one used as office) and bathroom cleaned. *** also mentioned that should like assistance with her laundry due to a back injury that gives discomfort. *** did stated that she would like a weekly cleaning.I told *** that we will be happy to help her. So then I disclosed how we charge. I told her that we charge $30 per hour and I have a team of 2 ladies. From my experience I quoted the first cleaning to be 5 hours and then there after 3 hours weekly.The 5 hour total would be $150 and then there after for 3 hours would be $90. *** then asked me if she is paying $15 per hour per lady. I told her "no", I told her that we charge $30 per hour and gave her the example: This is a 5 hours cleaning duration, for 1 lady she will bein your home for 5 hours. But I did tell her that I will be sending 2 ladies to cut the time in half to be in her home cleaning. I explained that each lady will be cleaning 2 1/2 hours and that equals a 5 hour cleaning. I remember that I needed to explain this 2 times and then I did ask *** if this made sense and she did say "Yes". I even looked at her husband and he stated "it makes sense". *** then did say that she will need to make the cleanings then every other week because the amount charged bwouldn't fit with her budget. I said that is fine. We then confirmed a starting date of 2/19/2020.On 2/19/2020 my team of 2 ladies arrived and cleaned for 5 hours, physically each lady cleaned 2 1/2 hours as explained on 2/7/20. I then received a phone call from my cleaner and asked me to speak to *** and she passed the phone. *** statedthat the $150 wasn't agreed upon and they were there for only 2 1/2 hours. Again she asked if she is paying $15 per lady per hour. I told *** that I explained how we charged on 2/7/20 and that she told me she understood, but I did take the time to explain again.I told her that we charged $30 per hour. The 2 ladies cleaned each a duration of 2 1/2 hours the total cleaning time is 5hrs. She then said ok I will write the check out and also she mentioned she is including a tip of $15 per lady. *** also mentioned that the ladies did a very good job. I stated Iappreciate her kind comment. The conversation then terminated.We are a very honest people and reputable cleaning service. In my years of experience I have not yet received a complaint from our clients with understanding of how we charge for our service nor claiming that we are scamming. I am sorry that *** wasn't able to comprehendour system of charge per hour. I will send to her a courtesy refund of the $75 that she believes that she was overcharged. This will then discontinue the every other week service that was agreed upon.Thank you,***Owner Maid to be Clean
