Maidenbaum Property Tax Reduction Group Reviews (24)

Our customer signed up for our services on October **, As required by law, our agreement gave our customer the absolute right to cancel our agreement within three days, which never happened Also, although our customer claims she sent a cancellation letter on November **, 2010, we simply never received such a letter Such correspondence is kept in the ordinary course of our business and while we diligently respect and honor proper requests to cancel our services, such requests must be received in writing signed by the homeowner. In fact, it wasn't until long after we obtained a property tax reduction for the customer that she provided us with an unsigned "copy" of the letter she says was sent in November of The letter does not indicate whether it was sent by mail or by fax, and it did not even have our mailing address Also, the customer has no certified mail receipt, fax transmission journal or any proof that she actually sent us the letter.Since we did not receive a cancellation letter, we proceeded to do the job we were hired to do and we obtained an approximate twenty (20%) percent reduction in the client's assessment and corresponding property taxes Since our fee is a percentage of the savings, it clearly was to the customer's benefit that the case was not canceled The reduction we obtained saved our client $2,in property taxes In contrast to our 20% reduction, the very next year the customer hired one of our competitors, and she only received a 9% reduction. In short, we never received the cancellation letter, which was dated outside of the cancellation period in any event; the client has no proof of mailing of the letter; and the customer saved more than $2,as a result of our efforts, far more than what she saved the following year with a competitor Nevertheless, we will waive our fee entirely if our customer is willing to instead pay the amount of our bill to one of the local, not-for-profit recognized charitable organizations which we sponsor By waiving our fee this way, we believe we give back to the community and therefore, everyone benefits

Here at Maidenbaum Property Tax Reduction Group, we are very proud of our A+ rating with the Revdex.com and our commitment to our customers We work very hard at reducing our clients' property tax liability and we strive to provide the best possible customer experience We have an in-house attorney who not only educates our clients on the entire tax appeal process, but gives his own cell phone number to our clients for a personal touch We are unaware of any other taxpayer representative that provides such accessibility, information and service[redacted] has used one of our competitors in the past and unfortunately, it appears that [redacted] is confusing us with her prior taxpayer representative We distinguish ourselves from our competitors by having simply-worded retainer agreements which clearly state our fee percentage -- in this case the agreements signed by [redacted] stated that our fee was half of the savings We have previously sent [redacted] copies of her signed agreements with our company but we are glad to send her additional copies to the e-mail address she provided to the Revdex.com.Taxpayers should be advised that since the 2011/tax year, nearly every successful Nassau County property tax appeal resulted in a homeowner receiving reduced tax bills, not refunds We did not represent to [redacted] that she would receive a refund if we were successful, our mailings are not misleading, and we do not have a " [redacted] " working at our company Again, we believe [redacted] has simply confused us with the representative she used in the past[redacted] says that she wanted to cancel our services, but as she noted her cancellation letter only referred to the 2016/tax year We honored her request to cancel that tax year Additionally, when [redacted] advised us of her financial situation, we were understanding and we gave her a substantial discount off our bill for the 2014/tax year Had we not obtained the 2014/tax reduction for [redacted] , she would have paid more than twice our fee in excessive property taxes[redacted] did not cancel the 2015/case, which is a good thing for her as we obtained another reduction for that year In fact, because of the reduction we obtained for the 2015/tax year, [redacted] will save $1,in school taxes for the year There will also be additional savings on her general taxes issued in January It's hard to imagine [redacted] would rather pay more than $1,in excessive taxes rather than half the savings as our fee If [redacted] does not want to pay us for the value of the benefit she received, however, we will be glad to let [redacted] pay the amount of our bill for the 2015/reduction to one of the local, not-for-profit charitable organizations we support in our community instead of to our company We can think of no better way of resolving this matter then to help others and we hope that [redacted] will agree

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: You offer no resolution that I am able to work with, I did not receive any copies of signed forms, as you have stated in your flattering letter about your company, I did not sign anything for 2016/that is ridiculous since the county was not even processing anything at that time, that far in advance of the date when this all beganI already stated that was a "type-O" in my letter in response to our telephone conversation it was meant to read 2014/The telephone conversation that took place in stated " On January *, 2015, after having a telephone conversation with [redacted] I sent her the agreed upon amount for services rendered, which was for obtaining a tax reduction on the property located at [redacted] ***The agreed upon fee amount was $paid on check number [redacted] on For the Nassau County 2014/Tax yearThe payment for services rendered, was reduced from $to $997.86"An agreement was made over the phone followed by a letter from myself, that no further tax reduction processing was to be made on my behalf, and I would send a check for the amount agreeded upon which I paid for services renderedThe EndI never signed anything elsePerhaps, she the person I spoke with ( [redacted] or whom ever), misunderstood? This person in question also told me that refunds were no-longer issued from Nassau County for tax reductions, so companies like Maidenbaum now collect their fee directly from the home ownerIf the terms of the agreement had changed then the first agreement would have been null and void since this payment collection was change and was never conveyed to me, the consumerI owe this firm no money, I even sent another $check for some processing fee, check #***, on 12/*/2015, just to get rid of this companyPlease stop billing meI you wish to send a charity check do so with your own money in the Maidenbaum company name, please leave me alone Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear [redacted] :While we always address our clients’ concerns and seek to amicably resolve any issues that may arise, regrettably, this is nothing more than a customer trying to avoid paying our fee Her claim that it not her signature is belied by the fact that she still does not deny the rest of the information on her authorization (i.e., phone numbers, e-mail address) is her own handwriting, even after we pointed that out in our prior response Finally, she does not deny receiving our confirming e-mail and various correspondence regarding the property tax reduction service she hired us to perform, and that she did not object to our services until after she received our bill

Dear [redacted] :As you know, Maidenbaum Property Tax Reduction Group LLC has successfully represented thousands of Nassau County homeowners in lowering their property taxes over the years We believe we set the industry standard for both the quality of our service and our commitment to our clients On behalf of our clients, we filed 14,applications for correction with the Assessment Review Commission for the 2014/tax year This number increased to 15,for the 2015/tax year In fact, we had to turn away potential customers who did not have a meritorious case for a reduction for these tax years. We are successful in the substantial majority of our tax appeals Most all of our clients are extremely pleased with our services and our customers’ satisfaction is one of the reasons for our A+ rating with the Revdex.com Every so often, however, a customer will try to avoid paying our fee Unfortunately, this is the case here The customer’s suggestion that we forged her name on the authorization form is outlandish and quite simply, defamatory.A copy of our customer’s signed authorization is attached The signature on the authorization matches, but is clearly not a cut & paste of, the signatures on our customer's mortgage documents (also attached) Additionally, the customer does not explain how we could possibly have had her e-mail address and phone numbers, all of which are handwritten on the authorization The customer does not deny that the e-mail address and phone numbers are in her handwriting. Finally, after we received our customer’s authorization form, we sent an e-mail confirming that we had been hired, as well as correspondence advising of the status of the case Tellingly, our customer never claimed that she did not hire us until after she accepted the benefits of our services and received our invoice Under these circumstances, and due to the defamatory nature of the customer’s complaint, we are unable to waive our fee

In response to the complaint which we received today, I reached out to *** [redacted] I provided her with a copy of her signed agreement with our company for the tax reduction services we performed for the 2014/tax year Additionally, because *** [redacted] only received a partial, rather than a full-year tax savings due to the sale of her home, we gave her a discounted fee as a courtesy We believe this matter is now resolved to our customer's satisfaction

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I sent them my cancellation letter after I called and was td I had to put it in writingi sent it to the right address and the right companyi was givin the address when I called the reason I cancelled was because someone told me that they are a scam company In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear [redacted]:I attach copies of your signed authorizations for the 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 tax years.Regards,Mark H. M[redacted]

Here at Maidenbaum Property Tax Reduction Group, we are very proud of our A+ rating with the Revdex.com and our commitment to our customers.  We work very hard at reducing our clients' property tax liability and we strive to provide the best possible customer experience.  We...

have an in-house attorney who not only educates our clients on the entire tax appeal process, but gives his own cell phone number to our clients for a personal touch.  We are unaware of any other taxpayer representative that provides such accessibility, information and service.[redacted] has used one of our competitors in the past and unfortunately, it appears that [redacted] is confusing us with her prior taxpayer representative.  We distinguish ourselves from our competitors by having simply-worded retainer agreements which clearly state our fee percentage -- in this case the agreements signed by [redacted] stated that our fee was half of the savings.  We have previously sent [redacted] copies of her signed agreements with our company but we are glad to send her additional copies to the e-mail address she provided to the Revdex.com.Taxpayers should be advised that since the 2011/12 tax year, nearly every successful Nassau County property tax appeal resulted in a homeowner receiving reduced tax bills, not refunds.  We did not represent to [redacted] that she would receive a refund if we were successful, our mailings are not misleading, and we do not have a "[redacted]" working at our company.  Again, we believe [redacted] has simply confused us with the representative she used in the past.[redacted] says that she wanted to cancel our services, but as she noted her cancellation letter only referred to the 2016/17 tax year.  We honored her request to cancel that tax year.  Additionally, when [redacted] advised us of her financial situation, we were understanding and we gave her a substantial discount off our bill for the 2014/15 tax year.  Had we not obtained the 2014/15 tax reduction for [redacted], she would have paid more than twice our fee in excessive property taxes.[redacted] did not cancel the 2015/16 case, which is a good thing for her as we obtained another reduction for that year.  In fact, because of the reduction we obtained for the 2015/16 tax year, [redacted] will save $1,515.84 in school taxes for the year.  There will also be additional savings on her 2016 general taxes issued in January 2016. It's hard to imagine [redacted] would rather pay more than $1,500 in excessive taxes rather than half the savings as our fee.  If [redacted] does not want to pay us for the value of the benefit she received, however, we will be glad to let [redacted] pay the amount of our bill for the 2015/16 reduction to one of the local, not-for-profit charitable organizations we support in our community instead of to our company.  We can think of no better way of resolving this matter then to help others and we hope that [redacted] will agree.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

You offer no resolution that I am able to work with, I did not receive any copies of signed forms, as you have stated in your flattering letter about your company, I did not sign anything for 2016/2017 that is ridiculous since the county was not even processing anything at that time, that far in advance of the 2014 date when this all began. I already stated that was a "type-O" in my letter in response to our telephone conversation it was meant to read 2014/2015. The telephone conversation that took place in 2015 stated " On January *, 2015, after having a telephone conversation with [redacted] I sent her the agreed upon amount for services rendered, which was for obtaining a tax reduction on the property located at [redacted]. The agreed upon fee amount was $997.86 paid on check number [redacted] on 2/**/2015. For the Nassau County 2014/15 Tax year. The payment for services rendered,  was reduced from $1247.32 to $997.86". An agreement was made over the phone followed by a letter from myself, that no further tax reduction processing was to be made on my behalf, and I would send a check for the amount agreeded upon which I paid for services rendered. The End. I never signed anything else. Perhaps, she the person I spoke with ([redacted] or whom ever), misunderstood? This person in question also told me that refunds were no-longer issued from Nassau County for tax reductions, so companies like Maidenbaum now collect their fee directly from the home owner. If the terms of the agreement had changed then the first agreement would have been null and void since this payment collection was change and was never conveyed to me, the consumer. I owe this firm no money, I even sent another $30.00 check for some processing fee, check #[redacted], on 12/*/2015, just to get rid of this company. Please stop billing me. I you wish to send a charity check do so with your own money in the Maidenbaum company name, please leave me alone.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Our customer does not deny that she has no proof (e.g., certified mail receipt), that she actually mailed us the cancellation letter.  Our customer also does not deny that her unsigned cancellation letter did not even have our mailing address on it, and that it was dated after the cancellation period.  Finally, our customer saved more than $2,100 in property taxes, because we never received the supposed cancellation letter until a copy of it was sent to us after we had already done the work.  Despite all of this, we are willing to let the customer pay our fee to charity.  We cannot make any further accommodation than the above.

Dear [redacted]:While we always address our clients’ concerns and seek to amicably resolve any issues that may arise, regrettably, this is nothing more than a customer trying to avoid paying our fee.  Her claim that it not her signature is belied by the fact that she still does not deny the rest of the information on her authorization (i.e., phone numbers, e-mail address) is her own handwriting, even after we pointed that out in our prior response.  Finally, she does not deny receiving our confirming e-mail and various correspondence regarding the property tax reduction service she hired us to perform, and that she did not object to our services until after she received our bill.
