Maids of Honor Reviews (4)

1. Hours/work: Cathy knew we had a bud**t to stay in, but additional employees were sent culminated in additional hours that were not agreed upon. On the day, Cathy called me on 12/28 stating if they start to clean the 3rd bathroom it would be almost 9hrs of labor. I told her not to clean the 3rd bathroom to stay in bud**t of 6 hrs. Cathy showed on 1/6 to review the previous work and agreed there were things missed. Ultimately less areas were identified to be cleaned, more man hours were used, we were billed for more and areas were still missed or skipped. 2. Microwave: I lightly brought up the microwave on 1/6. At the time, I did not want to push the issue knowing the ** technician was coming on 1/7 to assess the microwave. I did not blame anyone without knowing the facts. ** stated moisture got into the touch panel. You can see scratches along the microwave touch panel and surface itself (ima**s 3/2). Cathy continuously states it’s too greasy, so to her, we haven’t cleaned it. Then, the only individuals to touch our microwave to clean it is Maids. Maid’s insurance company stated to refuse liability, but how can this be determined if no one from their side has the same dili**nce to assess the microwave. 3. Cathy has stated on many times it is our fault the microwave is greasy. On her 1/6 visit, she stated it was greasy. Doesn’t this means they did not do a good job cleaning the first time? That reflects on the company itself, as the initial employees did not do a good job or they skimped on effort. If they did do their work, Cathy didn’t need to come out. 4. You cannot take personal shots at customers. We just had a child during this incident. I did not [redacted] a chance to clean our kitchen prior to my child's birth. I called Maids for assistance while attending to other parts of our lives. It is not our fault that we had a child nor should you bring that up. The microwave was not functional when we got back from the hospital and I needed to use if for my child.

I will refund the whole amount of the cleaning $342 to settle this issue.

When [redacted] contacted me I was quite shocked at her reason for calling. She had no idea that I even went out to the house after her husband called and evaluated and fixed the things that were missed. While I was there I re cleaned the cabinets fronts and the front of the microwave...

which was so built up with grease that I had to switch to a white eraser/Ammonia cleaner just to get them cleaned. [redacted] mentioned to me about the microwave not working but he wasn't even concerned that we had anything to do with it and was very happy that I came out to fix the things that he felt needed more attention. His wife apparently was upstairs tending to the children and never came down to meet me.
So you can imagine my shock when she called me several days later to tell me we broke her microwave and had no clue I was even there and spoke with her husband.
I feel like the we didn't do anything out of the ordinary cleaning the microwave front panel and we shouldn't be responsible for replacing it or repairing it. In my opinion it was a faulty panel and the manufacture should have been notified of the issue. If the client would have cleaned it themselves it would have happened anyway.

Review: 1. Week of 12/21/15, called the company for an estimate to clean 3 bathrooms and 1 kitchen. The estimated cost over the phone for approximately 2-3 hrs with 2 individuals (6hrs). They charge $38 per hour/person.

2. 12/28/15, the employees showed up with 3 individuals (more than estimated). My sister in law was present. Cathy from Maids called me and let me know that they could only clean 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen to keep close to the original estimate. We were still charged for the extra hours, 9 hours total instead of 6.

3. When I returned, I noticed that certain cabinet faces (which is a part of their service) was not cleaned. I also noticed, scratches on the microwave and it's touch panel did not work. The buttons did not respond. Upon further inspection, there were scratches on the touch panel as well.

4. On 1/3/16 I left a voice message for the company with the issues.

5. On 1/6/16 Cathy came by the home to review the work and she agreed there were cabinets missing. Also stating they could not clean the cabinets as they were exceeding the original estimate (which were exceeded anyway). I also brought up the microwave issues and she changed subjects quickly.

6. 1/7/16 - Contacted GE (microwave manufacturer). Technician assessed moisture entered the panel and need to be replaced at a cost of $927.24

6. 1/8/16, my wife called to speak to Cathy on the microwave issues and was met with negative comments and finger pointing at us. Cathy initially agreed over the phone to cover the repairs, but when given the estimates, she refused, stating she would contact her insurance and hung up.

7. 1/13/16 - Cathy emailed, stating her insurance company's findings were inconclusive, but did not send an rep to review the microwave before making any decision.

8. 1/14/16 - Wife called again to reason with Cathy, but was met with personal and harsh criticism. Cathy said it was our fault the microwave was greasy and that caused them to use a harsher chemical on the microwave.Desired Settlement: Maids of honor should be responsible for all costs to replace or repair my microwave.
