AUG 2015To Whom It May Concern, This is in response to the Revdex.com complaint filed against my business on 8/5/with an ID of ***I am aware of this situation and had been in contact with Ms*** on this issueWe are sympathetic to Ms*** as this is very unfortunate for her.My stance
on this is that I do not see how this could be directly pointed back to my responsibilityI spoke with my employees that were involved, I spoke with other technicians with several years of experience, and I also spoke to “***" at the *** dealer where Ms***'s vehicle is atMy employees insisted that they properly installed the oil filter as they have done on thousands of previous vehiclesWe hire skilled, ASE-certified technicians that have multiple years of experience in the industryFurthermore, I spoke with other technicians outside of our organization whom all agreed that if the oil filter had been loose it would not have lasted weeks after the oil change was completedindustry experts seem to concur that a loose oil filter would fall off almost immediately, if the oil filter was loose, I would think that Ms*** would have noticed oil spots under her car, which she never stated to usLastly, *** at the *** dealer agreed and also stated that he has “never seen this happen in his time doing this".With all that said, to me it was unclear that full responsibility could be drawn back to our repair facility, especially with weeks passing in time between our oil change and the said event as described by Ms***I wanted to help her by offering to pay for half of the repair in the amount of $2,I arrived at that amount because Ms*** made the statement to me that the repair was going to cost $5,I was clear with Ms*** as she states in her complaint that I was only offering because of kindness and I felt for her but that I did not feel as though I should be held responsible based on the info received and the week time frame that had passed betweenMs*** seems like a very nice person on the phone and because of her honesty and kindness that I felt for her on a human level, that is why I offered to pay for half of the repair bill.If you have any questions and/or would like to further discuss this, I can be reached at: ###-###-####.Sincerely,Nicholas T***Doylestown Auto and Tire Center
