Review: We have had our PT Crusier in there shop on Jan 8,2014 because the engine light came {this is the 3rd time by the way same problem] we picked the car up on sunday Jan 12,2014 drove it home and parked it in the drive way until we went to go out on Sunday Jan 26, 2014 backed out of driveway and went 5 feet and the engine light came right back on so we charged for repairs and the car is not repaired. The shop charge us for a fuel line, drain plug, and 2 wipper blades that we did not tell them to put on, we did tell them to change the oil which is part of the 74.14 part charge. but they charged us 251.87 for the check engine light, the total bill for parts and labor came to 357.71 and our car is not fixed and they told us the car was fixed and they check it out and is good. but how could they have fix our car and we drive 5 feet and the engine light came right back on because it was not repaired but we paid for repairs and now we want our money back for repair that was not done . so we can take it to the dealer for the repairs . we will let they keep the 14.99 for antifreeze,29.80 for oil. 3.79 for oil filter, fuel line, drain plug oil, 2 wipper blades we did not ok,they have checked the engine light 3 time each time we were charge and told the car was fixed 3 times it has not been and this type of car repairs has to stop. we want our money back for repairs not done in cash as this is how we paided.Desired Settlement: want refund for car not being repaired

I just want to follow up on this issue even though I feel like there is no issue. In August 2013 was his first visit to our shop and it was a check engine light, we scanned and told him that the turbo was bad that we could clean and clear the light but no guarantee. He agreed and we preformed the service. The second time 3 months later he return for service and also told us his check engine was on but he had an aftermarket turbo put on his car since the last visit, this time the check engine light read to need a solenoid for turbo we followed same procedure and he agreed and we preformed the work. Both times and fix's were below our standard shop rate because of him being associated with a current employee of mine, we done the friend rate.

The last time [redacted] came in shop was in January 2014 for the check engine light, we had a discussion with him to what he wanted to what we told him to it would not do any good until he put the factory replacement turbo on his car, but he insisted we correct what the light stated which was the oil cooler lines for turbo in which we replaced them. We ran continuously for the recommended time per All Data and Mitchell program that use to diagnosis's and trouble shoot the check engine light. Once again we told him it was guarantee to correct in which he understood and again our charges were below any other repair shop.

Since this last visit I have had no call from him nor have I had a chance to hear his complete until I received the letter from you all in which this will be the first that my business has ever gotten. I have called [redacted] and discussed what would happen if he had of came by and talk to me and we would have gotten his vechile read the code and corrected at OUR Expense if indeed it was related to mechanical error in our shop with out question. He said would think it over and get back to me and he has NOT called me back.

Please take this in consideration and understanding that we do not and will operate in such manner to take advantage of anyone. If they are ever a customer that is not happy with our service I will do what ever it take to make them happy I GUARANTEE IT. Thanks for your time, Main Street Tire & Collision, LLC Jerry Perry (owner)

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Follow to MR.Perry

First let me state that we did speak to [redacted] about the problem in which he just blow me off.I have spoke to Mr.Perry twice on the phone about this problem in which he has told changed what repaires were done to the car.Now to get to the facts which I have all repair paper work. Our first visit to his shop was in 2/21/13 to have the engine light check{this already shows that MR.Perry is making a mistake} . said there was a oil leak around the turbo were one of the seal was lose , fixed leak and cleaned oil around leak. that was 71.54.Car

2. visit was on 4/6/13 again to check engine light they put the part on we paid and left. Now let me say we did not have the after market turbro on in between visit we had the turbo put on in July of 2012 which came all gaskets and 2 new oil lines with heat shields.Which we have the invoice to show, so that is an untrue statement by Mr.Perry.And it was not a solenoid that was put on [redacted] his employee said it was a wastegate not the same as a soleniod. and that cost with check light 71.54 is the shop normal price for everyone and parts was 89.79 for a total of 169.93 paid and left, Now Mr.Perry keeps talking about the after market turbo, fact that has nothing do to with the check engine light because I know that to be true because when the turbo went bad in may of 2012 the check engine never once came on the was blowing white smoke out the tail pipe and we took the car in to a repair shop here and the repair man put the car on there big computer and the computer never showed that the turbro was bad and the repair man called a friend of his at the dealership and talked to him about the problem and the dealership said it was the turbo gone bad and that it will not show up on the computer .so thats a untrue statement by Mr. Perry. Its a untrue statement that the problem that the problem want be fix until we install a factory turbo thats just so not true talk with dealership and were told by there repair man that has nothing to do with engine light.MR. Perry states we I was told that nothing would fix the car until a factory turbo was put in that is a untrue statement nothing like that was said by [redacted], I was told by [redacted] that the car had 4 oil lines on it 2 on the upper and 2 on the lower and that the 2 om the lower side was bad thats what there computer said. thats a false statement I talked to the repairman that put the turbro on and there is only 2 lines a oil feed line and oil drain line.I talked to Mr,Perry today first he said they put oil line on then said no they didn't order the line and put them on, so no ones stories match as for discounts we pay the same as everyone else I am not friends with anyone that works just know them in passing. the oil line that one min they put on and the min didn"t.If Mr, Perry thinks that its reasonable to charge 279.86 in labor for a normal fee to check engine which the normal charge at there shop by our last 2 bilks is 71.54 and 74,14 for which part of the 74.00 I did ok. so this point we have no idea what was done to my car and by what I was told today either dose MR.Perry. we were charged parts and labor for parts that were put on. I think Mr.Perry in stead of placing the blame on us should take a long hard look at what at going on in repair shop. I dont have a problem paying but when when a shop come up with misleading statement and misleading statement then I do.The Revdex.com is not the only place to file a complaint. Theres a lot more facts to all of this but this is the short form. As I have stated over and over again and can prove the turbro, oil line there is not a oil cooler line to the turbo only to oil line feed line and drain line have dia. not 4 like [redacted] and the repair man said. [redacted], there repair man and MR.Perry stories are not the same. Am I the only one that sees a problem with in there bussiness. Would you take your car back here if you have been told so many differ I no longer have any trust in this company and think I am entitle to a refund for the parts and labor of 279.86 for non repair. If the shop spend all the hours on this car as Mr.Perry would have you think then and guarantee that [redacted] said it was repaired as per his statement than I would not have drove 10 miles from there shop home parked the car, got in the car on the 26 backed out of the driveway went 5 feet and the light came right back on this tells me that it was not in fact repair as [redacted] said and Mr.Perry stated did order oil line then didn"t order oil lines. Don't have to be totaly stupid to to figure this one out. I was giving no discounts paid the same as everyone else and not friends with any one there only in passing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Response:

I have read the reply, I see alot of misleading statements mostly out of anger. First of all the three visits were on different issues all dealing with check engine like on most vechiles. All repairs were discussed with owner prior to any corrections and the charge and all was agreed upon and with the understanding that it was no guarantee with any of it. We do offer workman ship warranty in other words we stand behind what we do if indeed we are given the chance to. The only way we would charge each trip or visit for check engine is when the repairs donsn't over lap and is indeed a different code. To sum all things up we would like the opportunity to correct anything that Mr. [redacted] insist's on we done incorrect, just refunding the bill isn't the correct way of warranty work at any shop. I regret that Mr. [redacted] feels the way he does, but once we had the oppurtunity to service his vechile he had made a statement of the last garage had done him wrong as well, we have worked on other vechiles of his with no issues. It is just this vechile with the check engine light problem is complicated issue that we stated to him in the beginning.

Thanks for your time and please if we can provide any more information just let me know. Jerry

Regards,

[redacted] and [redacted]

This is not out of anger but because the car was not fixed and we paid for repaires that even the shop there selfs can not tell us what was done to the car , first said they put oil lines on the car then said they didnt . they said there were 4 oil lines on the car and in fact there are only 2 lines which could not have been bad as they were already new lines. the only oil lines on this car are in fact on the turbo which is new also, as we have stated the engine light will not come on if there is any problem with the tubro. whenthe tubro firdt went bad on the car the check engine light never came on, this just tells me that they dont know what they are doing. we have had the car at the dealer ship and have had it repaired all that was worng with the car engine light coming on was a vacum hose and not the oil lines. as I have stated why keep taken your car to the same place and paying for work that as soon as you drive it off there lot you have the same problem as when you took it in. I do not want to see the same thing done to other hard working people and seeing how the car was not fixed and they have not showed me any invoice for the parts that we paid for or a break down of the 257.00 I still think we are entile to a refund and I will keep posting a bad review for this company as long as I need to.

Review: I took my car in to replace a power steering pump. I was over charged for the pump and labor. My pump is still broken. I was lied to numerous times and charged for more repairs that were the fault of the company. I was threaten because of this being a small town the company pushes their weight at me and says they are buddies with the police and not to go to them. I am out of 237.54 for the total charged and they kept my car on purpose without even working on it for an extra day, just to show me they can bully and get away with it. They broke my Power steering hose and a tube on my alternator and now they want me to pay for a rack and pinion that my car does not need totaling another 567.00 and they lied about repairing the power steering pump the second time they claimed to have done so. Now I have no more money, I am scared to go back to the company as they have told me to my face that they will not fix the power steering pump again.

I have since went to 5 other mechanics in my area including the Ford dealership and they all say the only thing wrong with the car is a faulty pump and that Main Street Tire and Auto is ripping me off and bulling me. At this point I am stuck with a very broken and dangerous car and no money and I will not go back to the company because I am scared of them and who they know. I was lied to many times and I would like a full refund so that I can go to another mechanic and get the part fixed that I need the right way. I will even give the old power steering pump back to the company after the new one is replaced so they can pretend to have fixed it and get the warranty and labor refund. One of the other mechanics told me to go to the sheriff, and the other told me to mark the pump itself and see fi the guy is actually going to repair it this time. I am not going back to Main Street Tire and Auto again.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the power steering pump and labor because I was lied to about the labor and time and I want the money for the hose and labor plus the fluids that were bought during this. As I have a broken car and it was not like this when I brought it in. I would also like to not have half the town threatening me for telling the truth. I also reserve the right not to have to step foot in their doors ever again, because I am not comfortable with the staff and owner. I also want to be safe in my own home as I live in town and do not want to be harassed.

Response:

This is a customer that called on the phone to shop wanting to price a power steering pump and labor. We did not diagnosis this problem! We responded with the quote. A few days later she called back and accepted the estimate in return we installed exactly what she ask for. With in a weak the pressure hose started to leak when she returned. We then replaced the hose and pump under warranty. Since then she complains of no steering or tight steering which circulation problem with steering rack. She came with several others shops and people's diagnosis telling us what is wrong so we did what she ask and now we are to blame because of what other people and shops told her it needed. I don't understand why she did not let them fix? Then they would to deal with her. I will try to contact her with a correctional action. Thanks

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company has called my home number, it was not the one I have, filed for this, complaint. The company is less than a mile from my home and I will not let my son outside alone. The man that contacted me still lies to both the Revdex.com and myself. The offer made on the phone this morning was left on my answering machine, since . I refuse to answer and be bullied without evidence. I was told to let the mechanic fix my power steering pump, while me or a some one I trust is there to watch. No one in town let alone my family,

Wants to get involved and I have been told that people who complain get hushed. I do not want direct contact with this company again. I want safety in my town as well. I point out that the company never asked or required a diagnostic until the third time looking at the car, and charged me more then other people to have it done which I did as soon as they told me to and I paid in full. I will never go there again. I want refund so that I can go get my car fixed by a safer reliable mechanic. I also left and honest review on another site. For fear of my safety. I am taking it down, not because it is a lie , but because I do not want my family or friends hurt.
