I went to this place for an inspection. I was told I needed $1400 dollars worth of repairs in order for it pass. Mechanic show me a wet fuel filter and said it was leaking. I took it to another mechanic in NH who said there the items that were mentioned that needed to be fixed were fine and surprise no leak. Went to another mechanic in Maine for an inspection and he agreed and passed my vehicle. Leaks don't just go away on their own and the loose tie rod they said needed to be replace was deemed fine by two other mechanics. I would stay clear of this place. It is a shame. I used to go here all the time when it was *** who provided go service. I'm only giving one star because there is no option to give ZERO stars.
We inspected Mr. truck for a Maine State Safety Inspection. At the time we looked at the vehicle, there was a leak in the fuel line, near the fitting for the fuel filter, and a strong odor of gasoline. Also, a tie rod end was loose (had excessive play). We brought him out to the truck and showed him these areas of concern. Both of these items constitute reasons for failure under the *** Inspection Program. The fact that someone else put a sticker on this truck does not change that fact, and we stand by the results of our inspection. We did not provide him with a written estimate at that time, as he indicated he wanted to return later, so we do not know where he got his "$1400" figure. We regret if there was any misunderstanding, and we encourage Mr. to contact us directly, or return to the shop so we can discuss this matter in more detail. However, we are confident that our State Inspection was conducted accurately and properly. We have been in business for over 30 years, and take great pride in our work, and commitment to customer service.
