account closing form. The bank is not opened to full operations on Saturday so the account closing form would be processed on the next business day, which was Tuesday. January 19. 2016. Monday. Jan. 18th the bank was closed for the Martin Luther King federal holiday.
1/19/16 (Tuesday): An automatic debit from the customer's account was posted for $47.00, which overdrew his account; and therefore, the account was charged a $37.00 overdraft fee. The account closing form was sent to the operations area on Jan. 19th at 8:29 a.m. by the branch; however, due to system requirements. official account closure cannot occur until the next day. Therefore the account was attempted to be closed on January 20th at 11:20 a.m. At that time, the account closing form was rejected because the account was at a negative balance due to the automatic debit of $47.00 on the 19th and the account was not closed.
The Branch Manager attempted to reach the customer several times between Jan.19th and Jan. 25th. The Branch Manager left messages stating he would refund the overdraft fee, but the customer did not return the calls.
1/25/16 2:37p.m.: The customer came to the branch to make a deposit of $84. 00 to cover the $47.00 automatic debit as well as the $37.00 overdraft fee. The fee was not refunded due to misunderstanding.
1/26/16 8:1 1 a.m.: The account closing was completed.
At this time, the fee and charge will be refunded to the customer as a showing of goodwill. MainSource apologizes for the inconvenience to the customer.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. In addition,
I will state here as I did in the Revdex.com complaint that the Bank does not owe me anything. I repeat the Bank does not owe me anything. That the Bank owes me anything, was not my concern or intentions. I understood that the there could be items outstanding pending processing. This happened and I made good on clearing any debt owed the bank. With that said, if the bank sends anything to the customer (me) for good standings in would be over and beyond their responsibility. I merely, became concerned that the bank intentionally did not closed the account. Obviously, I was wrong. I suppose I must accept that I will occasionally get emails and mailings that I am not required to respond to. My local bank (while under other management) was gracious and let me out of a couple of deserved NSF fees over my time there. Therefore, the Bank does not owe the customer (me) anything. That my account is closed is satisfaction enough. Please mark this complaint as satisfied and inform the bank I am satisfied without further resolve. Thank you Revdex.com and blessings!
