Ms. [redacted] was charged an overdraft fee on June 29, 2016 for a withdrawal on her savings account. The Market President for MainSource Bank attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] on July 6, 2016; however, he was unable to speak with her at that time. business on May 20, 2016 [redacted] became MainSource Bank through an acquisition.At that time, Mr. [redacted] had a checking account with Cheviot that came to MainSource with a negative balance of$3.60. MainSource Bank’s standard overdraft practice is on the 7th, 14th, and 21st consecutive calendar day followingthe overdraft occurrence, we will charge a $35 Overdraft Notification Fee to the account if it remains in overdraftstatus. This policy was sent to all [redacted] customers prior to the acquisition.Mr. [redacted] did not bring his account to a positive balance until June 6th; therefore, he received a $35 OverdraftNotification Fee on the 7th and 14th consecutive calendar day following the date of acquisition. After the fees, hisbalance was negative $73.60. Mr. [redacted] made a deposit of $300.00 on June 13th leaving his balance at $226.40($300-$73.60). During the time frame of June 14 - 20, 2016, Mr. [redacted] made an ATM withdrawal and severalpurchases with his debit card for a total amount of $45.95. He also purchased a cashier’s check from MainSourceBank on June 17th for $190.04 and made one additional deposit on June 20th for $9.59. As of the end of the businessday on June 20th, the account balance was $0 and Mr. [redacted] signed an account closing form the same day. Theaccount is closed.On June 14th Mr. [redacted] opened a new checking with MainSource Bank and on June 17th made a $50 cash deposit.Mr. [redacted] made another deposit on June 20th for $190.04 with the cashier’s check he purchased from MainSourceon June 17th. On the same day, he also transferred $9.59 to the old account leaving his balance in the new accountat $230.45.After the account was opened, the decision was made by Management to close the account due to inappropriatecustomer behavior. According to MainSource Bank’s Deposit Account Agreement, the customer and bank agree thateither may close the account(s) and terminate the agreement at any time with or without cause. I would like for the total sum of over draft's fee's re-payed to me as a settlement to my current dispute. It's unfair for MainSource Financial Group to automatically shut my account down for the reason(s) mentioned.
