Maintenance Free Window Company Reviews (%countItem)

We needed 20+ windows replaced and Maintenance Free Window Company did a fantastic job. It was also very affordable and reasonably priced. Any delays by the manufacturer on the creation of our windows was communicated to us in a timely manner. As for the actual installation, Florencio who was the team lead did a great job communicating and answered any questions we had. Florencio and team were all professional and great to work with during the installation as well. We love our new windows and would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

Completely happy with our new windows from the "Maintenance Free Window Company." From the initial consultation with Greg, the price, the delivery and install by Chris and his crew were were all great. They were very efficient in their removal of our old windows, install of the new and cleanup. Thanks to all who were involved in the process.

As a general rule, I typically do just about everything at my house with regard to replacement, maintenance, etc. When it came time to do windows though I had a lot of windows (34) to replace and Maintenance Free Windows was able to get me excellent quality windows, expertly installed for less than I could even purchase the window itself at my local Big Box Store. I could not afford to do all of my windows at once, so I did them over three jobs. I have had a couple of issues with the windows over the years, but they always make it right. In fact, this last time I had an issue with two windows and, as it turns out, the manufacturer of the window itself has actually gone out of business. Maintenance Free Windows went above and beyond and sourced a new pane of glass for the window and it fits perfectly. Billy Sparks, the installer, is TOP NOTCH. Very nice, courteous, clean and competent! Yes, there are good contractors in the this world, at least in the case of Maintenance Free Windows!!

I must tell you, I used a big replacement window company for my home several years ago. (which is about 20 years old). Paid thousands, told I was buying the best of the best. After week, one of the windows fogged up. Called, emailed and wrote letters. Not one response. To wrap this part up, I called to get a quote for a rental house but said if you want to to do that one you have to fix mine. They agreed to but only with a additional trip charge of 175 per window. So much for a lifetime warranty.

Now the good news. I see the ad for maintenance free window at 275 per. I call and make appointment with Greg (principal/general manager). We meet and he shows me one window. I upgrade to the ergon gas, window grid and trim. We don't negotiate, we don't do a song and dance. His price is hundreds less (per window) from any other quote I received. I had 5 quotes. I was so impressed with Greg that I told my daughter who just bought a house and he quoted them the same thing (less grid) and they were ordered. They were just installed Friday and the outcome was terrific. The crew was awesome, they installed 15 windows in about 6 hours and they cleaned up to the point we couldn't even tell they were there. The crew was outstanding. My daughters house looks brand new. Immediately, we could tell a difference in sound and overall temperature in house. You owe it to yourself to at least let them quote you. You'll save thousands. Fyi.... if you can't tell I am a super fan of Greg, his team and maintenance free window company of Duluth.

Window in our home broke, and after contacting the company to repair they refused to fix because "the company they purchased our windows from went out of business". That should have no bearing to the lifetime glass warranty we purchased with selecting Maintenance Free. We sent requests to repair, a demand letter from our attorney and still no response or attempt to honor the warranty from the company. Their "Lifetime" All Inclusive Warranty is a scam and now I have a 5000 sq foot home with windows I am going to have to replace. Save your money and do not book any contracts with this company. They do not honor their warranty.

During our 14 years in Atlanta, Maintenance Free Window Company (MFWC) has resold windows from many suppliers depending on the required solution by our customer. Reselling another supplier's product is what 99% of the window dealers in Atlanta do including the big box retailers (big blue/big orange). A particular supplier of MFWC abruptly ceased operating in early January 2019 with no notice to almost 600+ window dealers like MFWC and tens of thousands of customers across the US. Replacement parts for the proprietary window are no longer produced and thus, there are no parts for MFWC to order on behalf of its customers to resolve any issues customers are experiencing. In the interim, MFWC is working with several of our larger suppliers to see what product if any crosses over. This good customer knows we have always responded quickly and have serviced them well over the years. We have had several conversations about this specific issue with them and we are sympathetic to their frustration. MFWC is still committed to servicing our customers and we are hoping for a remedy to this issue in the near future

The glass was broken and had nothing to do with parts. This is the same non answer we got before and have had to retain counsel due to their refusal to honor their warranty. The warranty I was sold was with Maintenance Free not MFWC and they are not honoring their commitment or contract with us.

On 01/20 the Gregg *** came to my house to give me a quote for window replacement. I contacted him on 01/21 to ask him about a special price , and
the fact that they will take off the blinds, and will put back up. He never called me back. I called again on the 24th, and told him that I have called on the 21th, and he said he never received a phone call, or voice massage from me ( I have proof for this. you can see on my phone log where it shows I have called at 1:30 pm, and talked for 2 minutes). I told him, I want to cancel the contract, and he said I can't. I told him I am going to call his company, and talk with someone else, He said I will end up talking with him again since he is in charge. I told him I just don't want to deal with him anymore. I told him how he told me if I don't sign the contract the same day he came, there will be an additional charge of $250.00. He told me " I didn't force you, and everything You say is just words. there is no document). I have been asking him to cancel the contract, but he wont, he keep saying that he has placed the order for the windows. I asked him for his paperwork showing that he has placed the order, and made payment for them, he doesn't even say anything about this.I have all the email, texts to proof. I simply do not feel safe to do business with him. Any time I talked with him over the phone he didn't even let me to finish my words, and he just wanted to give you his answer. His is very disrespectful. I need help to come out of this contract.

Thank you

Desired Outcome

I need to cancel the contract.

We met with this customer who placed an order on Monday 1/20. She had already received several window quotes and was referred to us by two of her co-workers who were pleased with the work we performed on their homes. Customer purchased from us due to the strong recommendations from people she trusts.

By Federal law, customer's who purchase in the home have three days to change their mind and cancel an order. This customer's order was placed with our factory after the 3-day cancellation period. We placed this order ASAP in an effort to accommodate customer's "rush" request for us to install her new windows within 3 weeks after order date (takes about 3 weeks to custom build).

Customer claims to have called us on Tuesday 1/21 asking us to cancel. We have sophisticated phone software that tracks all incoming calls and we have no record of her reaching out to us.

Thursday 1/23 through Saturday 1/25, customer contacted MFWC with pricing and advertisement clarification questions. She had confused a competitor's ad with our ad. We addressed her questions, emailed her some product information, and had every right to believe all was ok.

On Tuesday, 1/28 customer emailed MFWC making her first request to cancel (8 days after order date). We take this kind of request seriously. During the initial in-home meeting, we verbally discussed how to cancel an order. A proper understanding eliminates any kind of 'he said / she said', and a potential "we didn't receive your voice mail" scenario. The contract specifically stated ..."in addition to USPS mail, an email with an acknowledging return receipt from MFWC is also an acceptable method of cancellation to MFWC. Text messages and voice mails are NOT acceptable methods of cancellation".

This specific clause was signed by the customer. She knew the time frames and limitations and failed to perform according to the agreement. There is no 'gray' area here. Customer became upset and now claims we have acted unprofessionally and she can no longer trust us.

Once an order goes into production, it cannot be cancelled without the cost of the windows being paid for by MFWC. This is standard in most industries where custom purchases are involved. These windows are non-standard, and are custom sized with the customer's name on them. They cannot be resold. They are either installed in the customer's home or go into a dumpster.

We understand circumstances change and people need to move in different directions. Maybe the customer bit off more than she could chew (we don't know). In an effort to work with this customer, we made an offer allowing the customer to pay 50% of the contract price. We would drop the windows off at her home and she could have another company install them. This is a concession on our part because 50% of the contract still doesn't cover the cost of the windows. Given the circumstances, MFWC believes it is an unreasonable request to ask us to absorb $4000 of windows when we did everything correctly, we acted in good faith in both letter and in spirit. We stand by our actions and don't know how we could have performed differently. The above concession is still available to the customer. We have been servicing Atlanta homeowners for almost 12 years. We are 100% confident that if she will allow us to install her windows, she will be very satisfied as her two co-workers are and as satisfied as our other 10k Atlanta customers.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have called on 01/21.It is still in my phone log, showing I have been on the phone for 2 minutes and 30 second (left voice message )It's so strange that their phone software missed this call!!!!!!
The reason for my cancelation is not the company itself. It's simply because of the salesman's manner. When I told him, I want to call his company, and talk with someone else,he told me,all phon calls are directed to him, since he is theone in charge.I asked him to provide me with the paperwork showing when he has placed the order for the windows, but he never did. He did say he can dropped off the windows, and I asked him I need to see the paperwork showing the cost, but he never did. I have all the emails
Perhaps If I had to deal with another person, maybe I didn't have to go through all this.
It's not always all about the company, it's about how you are treated as a customer. You can have the best windows, but if every time you look through them is going to remind you of how you have been treated by the salesman. ...

Maintenance Free Window Company Response • May 06, 2019

Customer did call several times. When we tried to call back, Maintenance Free found out the customer was out of the country and his cell phone was not able to receive calls and his voice mail box was full. All phone calls were followed up with emails which the customer did not respond to. When we did speak, customer asked us to work with his real estate agent who was contacted the same day. A service appointment was scheduled the following day where Maintenance Free adjusted his windows as requested. It was clear that his broken glass was the result of someone trying to break into the home. Customers warranty clearly states that vandalism is not a covered item. We explained all of this to his agent. She seemed satisfied. We closed this service ticket. Maintenance Free responded to and worked with this customer like we do all of our customers, in a timely, professional manner. If we had to do it over, we would not change a thing. This is a baseless complaint.
