Maita Chevrolet Reviews (34)

I just spoke to Mr. [redacted].   He stated that he has already resolved this issue with our sales team.  It was just a misunderstanding of rebate application, and that Maita Chevrolet had thrown in a bedliner to try to better the price. He stated that...

there was nothing that need to be done, and that he would contact the Revdex.com to close this case. Thanks[redacted]

[redacted], I would like to thank you for coming back over here to the Dealership and giving my management a chance to work this out with you, even though I was out oftown on business.  I am glad you and [redacted] we able to come to terms and resolve this issue.  Please don't ever hesitate to contact me or [redacted] in the future if youhave any needs or issues.   Thank You again for resolving this with us.[redacted]

We are sorry to hear the Mrs.

[redacted] was not happy with her service.   We have reached out to her to bring her car back into our shop toallow us to go over her previous bill and to let us take a look...

at her car again.  Her car had multiple error codes stored in the computer. We made repairs to try to correct them all. However we did state on her last Repair Order that if code P0335 sets again, that her car would need further attention. We would be happy to take another look at the car and we have offered to recheck it without any diagnosis charges and offered her a free rental car for the day.At this time Mrs.

[redacted] has not been able to make it in for her last two scheduled appointments.  [redacted] will be reaching out to her again to set another appointment.  Hope to see her here and make her another Happy customer. Thanks[redacted]

After reviewing the repair information we performed a proper diagnosis on the vehicle and we will not be providing a refund. The customer has multiple issues with the vehicle and sometimes as in his case certain things need to be corrected before the next step can be taken. In response to the...

cracked front clip (bumper) our technician reported this when he removed the bumper to perform additional diagnosis. We cannot be responsible for damage we did not create on a vehicle by simply pointing out to the customer when we see it. Lastly to the concern of the "service parking assist" message the customer did not mention it when he brought it in, nor did our technician before releasing the vehicle back to the customer. We will always recheck previous repairs that we perform on a customers vehicle at no charge to make sure we didn't do anything incorrectly, if the customer would like we are willing to re-inspect the connections to the front bumper sensors to make sure everything is hooked up properly. He can contact [redacted] in our service department if he would like to do so. It is not our intention to ever inconvenience a customer.Sincerely[redacted]Fixed Operations DirectorMaita Chevrolet[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:  The issue is not with carmax and what they said.  The issue is that there is documented structural frame damage on the vehicle from an [redacted] vehicle report and it was not disclosed to us at the time of us purchasing the vehicle.  Being that you guys are buying the vehicle would it not behove the dealership to find as much information about before purchasing it and selling it a customer.  It was noted on 2 different dates as to having been found to have damage and just because [redacted] does not display that information does not mean that information does not exist.  Regardless if you feel that the vehicle is a safe vehicle, you are not the one driving it.  I have a wife and 2 kids, driving around a vehicle that has damage to the structural integrity is putting my family in jeopardy.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Attached is a copy of Mr. [redacted]’s repair order.  The repair order reflects our previous response to Mr. [redacted]’s concerns. The repairs to Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle were performed at his request. Mr. [redacted] was advised that the engine noise and lack of power were still present after the repairs. Mr. [redacted] declined any further diagnosis and/or repair.

I had a new engine put in my 04 Yukon in Dec. 2014. I went to the dealership to get it done right knowing I may be paying a bit more. I did in fact pay quite a bit more but was assured everything on the engine was in new or good condition. I found myself at a dealership in San Jose, CA. 16 months later with a bad starter. Needless to say, this other independently owned dealership wanted a lot of money to fix it. So I called Mike, the service manager at Maita Chevrolet. I explained my situation to him. Mike called the other dealership and negotiated a fleet price on the new starter and a 25% discount on the labor! Than You Mike! Thank You Maita Chevrolet! And thank you to the other dealership, Capitol GMC.

Review: I purchased a used 2009 Chevy Tahoe from Maita Chevrolet in [redacted] CA back on 3/27/2015. When I purchased the vehicle we were shown the [redacted] and showed no issues with the vehicle. We were told the vehicle was in good working order. On 2/24/2016 I went to [redacted] to get my vehicle appraised, they showed me the [redacted] report and it was noted to having structural frame damage from an auto auction on 8/7/2014 and again it was noted on 1/8/2015. There was no accidents report on any of the [redacted] or [redacted] report. Once I found this information I went back to Maite Chevrolet and showed them what [redacted] told me, the sales person at Maita proceeded to tell me they did not know about the vehicle having issues. I feel as I was not given the correct information when buying a vehicle that has and issue with structural frame damage. I was told from a representative is they have the ability for both [redacted] and [redacted] and for this type of information to not be disclosed to a potential buyer is disappointing and bad business ethics. On the price sticker the vehicle was noted to being Pro Certified with a rigorous inspection, and for a major dealership like Maita to not find out as much information about their vehicle and potentially selling a defective vehicle to the public. I feel Maita has either disclosed information about the vehicle or they neglected to inform my wife and I and with the damage whether minor or major has put me and my family as risk for potential for disaster just so they can sell the vehicle.Desired Settlement: When I visited Maita Chevrolet, they gave me a appraisal if I wanted to sell my vehicle back to them, however it was a low offer due compared to how much we would owe on the vehicle. I feel I am driving around a vehicle that given the nature of the damage could result in a potential for a disaster. Having the structural frame damage done has damped my ability to sell the vehicle to other dealerships or private party, which leaves me paying for a known damaged vehicle.

Response:

First I want to say that I am sorry that you had a bad experience over at [redacted]. When I received this notice, I immediately looked up your vehicle vin. number. Not only did I run a [redacted] REPORT, but I also ran a [redacted]. BOTH of those reports do not show any issues. Bothof those reports came back "CLEAN". These two reports are that most widely used and most complete system checks that I am aware of. The Maita Automotive Group takes Greatpride in the work we do and the cars we sell. We did our do diligence to inspect the car both with our automotive technicians and using the best resources available to us includingGovernment agency reports. I can say that I am quite sure that your Tahoe was a very sound and safe vehicle when you purchased it. As for what [redacted] is claiming, I can not speak for them. Maita Chevrolet does purchase cars off the street every day just like [redacted] does. Based on customer feedback about [redacted], We are very proud of what weare able to do for our customers. We would love to be able to get myself or our [redacted] to take a 2nd look at your vehicle and make sure we give you our very best offer for your Tahoe. That is if you are still interested in selling it. Thank You[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: On 3-23-2014 I had contacted Maita Chevrolet and AAMCO for quotes to replace my transmission. GM Quoted me roughly $4,000 and AAMCO quoted me $3,800. I chose AAMCO because they were offering the same exact remanufactured transmission with the same warranty that GM was offering. On 3-25-2015 I was contacted by a friend who works in a different state, and he notified me that on March 11, 2014 GM updated the coverage on the 3-5-r wave plate. This was the part that had broken in my transmission. I called GM and they confirmed that the policy was updated. When I asked why I was not notified of this when I had originally called about my transmission, I was told by [redacted] that this information doesn't have to be made public knowledge. This is a lie and was confirmed by a GM senior advisor and I also received a letter late April 2014 stating that they had updated this policy. GM said they would not cover the work if I had the transmission installed at AAMCO. I asked AAMCO to stop doing work while I confirmed GM would fix the transmission for free, which they agreed to on 3-27-2014. In order to get my car released from AAMCO, I needed to pay $1988 for the work they had already completed. I paid and had my vehicle towed and worked on at the Chevrolet dealership in Elk Grove. They are only offering to reimburse me $1,095 of the almost $2000 I had to pay. They are trying to tell me it was my own choice to bring it to AAMCO. Well because I was never informed by any of Maitas workers that my transmission was still under a warranty I chose to bring it to AAMCO. I have been lied to multiple times by [redacted] and treated very poorly, like I was a burden to his day. I never would have brought my car into AAMCO and been prepared to pay $3,800 if I had been told GM would replace it for free. I want to know why I was lied to by [redacted] and why GM wouldn't tell me about the updated policy. It seems like they were trying to keep it a secret so people would just pay them without knowledge of the part being coverdDesired Settlement: I want the $903 that I was charged by AAMCO so that they would release my car so I could have it towed to Maita Chevrolet, and an explanation as to why I was lied to about the updated warranty.

Business

Response:

Company states: Consumer called asked me how to change out the transmission for his 09 Malibu. Shortly after, he takes the car to AAMCO. Later he found there is a special program for the clutch. He calls us back and asked why we did not mention it. There is no way to give that information if we are not made aware of more information or the situation the consumer is in. He simply asked a specific question and we gave him a specific answer. So we decided to contact GM and see what we could do. We discovered that he was apart of the program and sent out a foreman to confirm. After that we had the car towed to us and we changed out the parts. GM covered $1085.00. Consumer is requesting for us to cover his restocking fee's and other fees from AAMCO which was also presented to GM and then declined.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response from the business, and they are still lying. I drive a 2008 Malibu, and if I were to call and ask about replacing my transmission, they would need my VIN number because in 2008 there are 3 different transmissions in the Malibu. These guys are just lying and trying to scam which is why I was never notified of the updated warranty until I asked about it specifically. They just wanted me to pay $4000 for a new one, and when they found out they had to replace it for free, I had al nothing bud an attitude from [redacted] and his employees.

Review: I took my 2012 [redacted] for an oil change and also had to replace the engine motor mount in May 2014. Then on, July 21, 2014 at about 10:30pm my car would not start and the battery went dead. I popped the hood of my car and inspected the battery and notice that the there was no cap over the 3 holes was missing, so the acid in the battery dried out. That Cap had to have been taken off by the mechanics at Maita Chevrolet because they were the last to work under the hood of that vehicle. I had to end up paying $117, plus 19.95 for labor and taxes totaling $140.06. I should not have had to pay for there mistake that they are not taking accountability for. I need this to get settled.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the $140.06.

Response:

Ms [redacted] did have her vehicle brought into us. We did test if for free. We called her and got her authorisation to replace it at said cost. We were informed

by her family members who dropped the vehicle off, that they had attempted to jump start this vehicle and did add water to the battery. We DO NOT SERVICE batteries.

Batteries are dangerous and hazardous, therefore we never remove the covers from on top off a battery. We will only test them and replace them if needed.

It is unfortunate that Ms [redacted] feels we somehow had something to do with her battery failure. Batteries are a maintenance item that can fail at any time.

Consumer

Response:

I nor my family member popped off the top, it was already off. Otherwise we would not have put water in it as we know that batteries acid is dangerous. Maita does not check there technicians work properly, if at all and that is why it was not noticed when I picked up my vehicle from a prior repair that they performed on my Impala.

Review: I took my car into Maita Chevrolet Elk Grove on 10/1/2015 for brake inspection, check engine light, and car frequently shutting off at stoplights requesting diagnosis and repair. The first estimate was faulty battery cable and battery was the cause for check engine light and frequent shut off. I authorized the repairs to be made along with brake repairs, total bill of 965.00. Not more than one week after I had the car back in my possession the same problems arose check engine light and car still shutting off. I called my service coordinator to inform of the continued problems which they advised me to bring the car back in for further evaluation. When I take it back for further diagnosis Maita then claimed that a new problem was detected, suggesting spark plugs are now the causing the engine light and frequent shut off, in turn causing further charges to me of 420.00 for repair. The repairs were made and I have the car back in my possession the same day my car shuts off again while at a stop, along with the check engine light back on. Needless to say in 2 weeks time I have spent almost 1500.00 in repairs for problems that clearly have not been resolved by Maita Chevrolet Elk Grove repair team. I must admit Maita's customer service fares well, but the repair service is less that respectable!Desired Settlement: I would like my car diagnosed and repaired properly without further cost to me. If the dealer is unsure of the exact problem do not guess and keep charging the customer for continued misdiagnoses. I'd prefer the dealer honor their original diagnosis and commit to fixing the problem without keep taxing the pockets of me (the customer).

Review: This business has engaged in misleading price information. I inquired about a vehicle advertised at $42,340 online and was given a verbal and email commitments that the vehicle was available at that price. After securing financing and arranging to visit the dealership to make the purchase, I was told the price was actually "a mistake". I jeopordized my credit and spent a lot of time trying to complete this transaction under completely false pretenses. This seems very much like a bait and switch tactic and is misleading to consumers such as myself. Bad business to say the least and false advertising.Desired Settlement: Dealership needs to honor the $42,340 advertised and quoted for the vehicle.h

This place is widely known for a high sm factor. I wish I'd realized that before I went. I went to look at a Jeep Patriot, the guy was young. He showed me a different car and made all kinds of outrageous claims about what it could do, for instance he claimed that the car (which was automatic) would "learn" the way you liked to drive and would rev the engine higher or lower based on your driving patterns. I asked what the name of that technology was and he couldn't answer me. As we were looking at the car another salesman came up with the keys and drove off with another customer. (Seriously he didn't bring the keys with him?!). Nonetheless, they were advertising great prices, so I told him I wanted to buy one, and he said to wait for him outside he'd be right back out with paperwork and a quote for my trade-in. After about twenty minutes I went in to look for him and another guy I'd asked told me he was with another customer! The man I'd asked said he was in the finance department and the salesman had told him to help me. So we sat down. The guy knew nothing about what I'd discussed with the salesman, asked me to fill out quite a bit of paperwork, promised me a certain rate based on the credit I told him, and kept having me wait while he checked with his "finance manager" and came back every twenty minutes to gather one more piece of information and go back and consult with his sales manager. My credit score was exactly what I said it would be, and he came back with an interest rate that was 5% higher than what he'd said prior to me filling out the paperwork. He also came back with a trade-in value that was $1500 less than what he'd told me before the paperwork. What I have since learned from talking to other people who have dealt with them is that they do this on purpose so that you will let them run your credit. They give you an artificially low number. If you go to search at other dealers to shop for rates, no one can match it and when you come back, they say that they can no longer do the deal at that price. In my case, I let them run the credit, after having told them exactly what my score would be, and 3 1/2 hours later, after making me wait around, they came back with a higher rate, as I said. The finance guy kept having me wait, and finally I told him I had to get going. He kept saying "5 more minutes, 5 more minutes, my finance manager" this and that. He kept insisting that I sign the papers and leave in the car that evening. I said I had no intention of doing that, I was going to think about the deal they offered, particularly since they kept changing the terms. At this point I was waiting in my car because I'd had it, and I told the guy I was getting ready to go. At that point, the finance manager finally came out and asked me "What rate do you want us to give you to get you to take this car?" Complete scheisters!! Whatever rate you can give me should be the rate I get. The trade-in value shouldn't keep changing (they hadn't inspected the car, it wasn't as if the change in value was based on anything). The finance manager went back in again to "see what rate he could give me." I had had it with these crooks, and I drove away. A week later, I started getting rejections from all kinds of credit agencies! When I was at the dealership they were pressuring me to drive the car away and had approved my loan! I called them and complained to the finance manager, and the finance manager said that he had nothing to do with it and gave me to the general manager who was unapologetic and a total jerk. A week later, I got ANOTHER credit rejection from the dealership itself! My friend who manages finance at another dealer told me they do that to clients all the time, it's a sort of "f-u" for not buying the car. It's amazing to me that they can get away with this. From what I understand, though, it's about 3 points off your credit just for the check, no matter what the dealership does, shows only one query, and does not hurt your credit otherwise. But quite frankly, I will be monitoring it to make sure. Just incredibly sleazy. Since that experience I've heard all kinds of horror stories. I would say, don't waste your time, it will just be a bad experience and annoy you.
