They sold us a used [redacted] and didn't not tell us there was a leak in the car. He told me that it smelt burnt because they pressurized the engine.On the eve of February 27,2015 we purchased a [redacted] vin#[redacted] from Majestic Auto Salesperson [redacted]. We were given the [redacted] that showed the vehicle had just had an oil change. We test drove the car about 3 to 4 blocks out from the dealership. We decided we wanted to purchase the vehicle. After my husband popped the hood he smelt the engine burning. The salesman [redacted] and his associated [redacted] advised us that the vehicle had a pressure wash due to the snow storms NC had experience, so the smell was just the excess water fall on the engine. We said okay and we went to do the paperwork. [redacted] then advised us that they had a warranty for $350 that lasted for 4 months incase there were any problems with the vehicle. He also stated he was going to purchase the car for his deceased grandfather awhile back. We signed the paperwork and my husband drove off with the vehicle at about 7pm. My husband went and serviced the vehicle at [redacted] in Fayetteville on 3/2/2015 paying $65. After he had a full service oil change completed on the vehicle on 3/3/2015 the "check coolant level" had appeared on the dashboard. My husband then went to add coolant to the vehicle. He went to and from work from March 4,2015 until March 10,2015. Everyday that he drove the car it smelt as if it was going to catch fire. We took the vehicle in on March 13, 2015 to be diagnosed at[redacted]. We advised them of our warrant with PWC and that we only had to pay $100 deductible.[redacted] called us back and advised us that the vehicle was leaking oil in the covert gasket. He then advised us that he called the warranty that we purchased and they said we had to pay the $100 ded, sales tax and the difference over $60 in labor (we were never told this information by Majestic Auto Sales. The mechanic at[redacted] also said that after he spoke to the warranty company to see if our repair was covered they advised him they did not cover the repair. We had to pay[redacted] out of pocket after only having the vehicle for apx. 2 weeks. I called and spoke with [redacted] advised him of the issue he yelled at me saying that he wasn't going to fix the vehicle or issue us any kind of refund and I was accusing him of selling faulty vehicles. I advised him they failed to tell us the vehicle was leaking oil and that is dangerous. We have children who rode in that vehicle prior to the leak repair and we shouldn't have to pay to repair the vehicle when we just purchased it from them. He told me if he repaired every vehicle that was just purchased he would be out of business. I told him we wanted the car we just want that issue fixed and the warranty was no good because it didn't cover anything. I advised him we had to come out of pocket another $500 for the repair after paying $5350 to them for the vehicle he hung up the phone on me and I never called back. Desired SettlementWe would like to be refund the $500 for the repair we had to pay out of pocket. We were never told about the oil leak and the Majestic auto sales acted as if there was nothing they could do after we had only had the vehicle 2 weeks. We want our money back for the repair. They also told us we only had to pay $100 for the warranty that didn't cover our issue. They failed to tell us of any sales tax or difference in any labor fees that would be our expense. I want my money back for the repair. Business Response MAJESTIC AUTO SALES WOULD LIKE TO RESPOND TO THIS COMPLAINT BY FIRST SAYING THAT UPON PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE MR [redacted] INSPECTED THE VEHICLE MORE THE ONE TIME AND DID NOT DISCUUS ANYTHING EXCEPT MISSING CLIPS FROM THE PLASTIC MOLDING WICH WAS CORRECTED BEFORE PURCHSE.SECOND MAJESTIC AUTO SALES IS A SMALL INDEPENDENT DEALER AND DOES NOT HAVE A FULL TIME MECHANIC ON SITE, HOWEVER EACH CAR PURCHASED GOES THROUGH A CERTIFIED NC INSPECTION AS WELL AS A [redacted] READING WICH MRS [redacted] WAS PROVIDED.THIRD MRS [redacted] WAS SHOWN EVERTHING THE WARRENTY COVERS AND ALL ASPECTS AND DETAILS THAT CONTAIN TO THE WARRENTY(THIS IS ALSO POSTED IN PLAIN VIEW IN THE OFFICE AT TIME OF PURCHASE) WICH MR AND MRS [redacted] VIEWD THOROUGHLY.THIRD THE VALVE COVER GASKET LEAK IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON ANY OLDER VEHICLE AND DOES NOT CAUSE A MASSIVE OIL LEAK , THIS VEHICLE IS A [redacted] WITH AT TIME OF PURCHASE ONLY HAD LESS THEN 113,000 MILES ON IT. WE AT MAJESTIC AUTO SALES BELEIVE WE DID EVERYTHING WE COULD TO ASSIST THE [redacted]S WITH THE PURCHACE OF THIS VEHICLE AND PROVIDED THEM WITH THE SAME INFORMATION THAT WE ARE PROVIDED WITH CONCERNING THE MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE, WE AT MAJESTIC DID EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO ASSIST THE [redacted]S INCLUDUNG A VERY LARGE DISCOUNT, AT TIME OF PURCHASE THE STICKER ON THIS CAR WAS 5,999 PLUS TAX, TAG AND FEES, HOWEVER WE SOLD THIS VEHICLE WITH A $350.00 DOLLAR WARRENTY FOR $5350.OO EVERYTHIN INCLUDED. MAJESTIC AUTO INFORMED MRS HAS [redacted] IF A WARRENTY IS PURCHASED AT TIME OF SALE ANY PROBLENMS AFTER OUR OUT OF OUR HANDS AND IT BECOMES A ISSUE WITH THE WARRENTY COMPANY. MAJESTIC AUTO SALES APOLIGISES FOR THIS MISSFORTUNE, HOWEVER WE INSIST WE DID EVERYTHING WE COULD FOR THIS COUPLE.Consumer Response Majestic auto sales did provide paperwork,but failed to advise of the oil leak. I don't care if you say it was commo. We purchased at apx. 114,000 miles and were scammed. I've purchased many used vehicles in the pass and this is the first time we have been scammed and treated poorly when asking the company to fix the leak. He wants to fax paperwork to the Revdex.com, I never stated we didn't receive paperwork. We did check the vehicle and it smelt like it was burning after we test drove it. He lied and said it was from a pressure wash instead of stating it was an oil leak. We want our money back for the repair. They refused to fix it and lied about the coverage on the warranty as well. We were scammed, and want our $500 for the repair or will file the necessary paperwork for the next course of action against Majestic Auto Sales. Final Consumer Response [redacted] from Majestic Auto Sales called me with a resolution. He offered to send a check for half of the repairs. I received a check in the mail for half the cost of the repair that I paid out of pocket yesterday. The check was successfully cashed today. I appreciate this company coming up with a resolution to my issue.
