Review: I purchased a Lifted 06 Chevy Truck from Majestic Auto in June. When I purchased the truck they asked me if I wanted a warranty on the truck in case something happened or needed repairs. The warranty was an extra $1,763. This warranty was suppose to cover major repairs. Last wed 3/9/16 my truck had broke down and I had to get it towed to a mechanic. They advised me the rear end had fell out and I would need a new one. This was suppose to be covered through my warranty and the ins company [redacted]. I called them they had a technician come out 3/11/16 to look at truck and verify what it needed. When they looked at truck they advised the dealer sold me an illegal warranty that because the truck was bought lifted the warranty was invalid. Their warranty states that any modified vehicles would not be covered. He advised that this is illegal and most dealers do it to pocket some of the money thinking that nothing will happen to the truck. I have reached out to majestic several times the keep telling me it is not illegal and advised its my problem. Now I have a truck sitting that needs $2000 worth of work done on it and I cannot afford it. The don't think that selling people illegal warranties is wrong. My truck is my lifeline I use it as a daily driver to work. I paid that money for the warranty and I don't think I should be treated this way. [redacted] from Majestic Auto is the one I talk to and keeps giving me excuses and the main boss will not even speak to me. Now they are even hanging up on my calls.

Here is the number for the insurance where the warranty is from they can also give info about the illegal warranty they sold me ([redacted])Desired Settlement: I would like a check for the refund of the warranty they sold me illegally. I do not need them to take it off the cost of the truck that is not helping me now when I have my truck in the shop that I cannot drive. This is a big burden and inconvenience for me and not right that they can con people out of money that way. I need that money back now so I can get my truck out of the shop especially when I making payments on it and have never missed one. I had also gave them $5000 down for the truck.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It was not purchased as is. They sold me a 1730$ 2 yr warrant or 24000 mile. They sold it illegal leaving me with no warranty at all and a broke truck I deserve that money back I put 5000 down. The warranty even says in small print of vehicle modified the warranty is no good. They knew this and gave it to me anyway they only paid half because they knew I had contacted yall and told them id get a lawyer. And far as I know they still haven't even paid there half to the mechanic yet

Response:

I have 2 alternatives here.1. We will keep the money for the warranty and I will honor the warranty in house based on the other terms of the contract minus the "modification" clause. This is to say, if something happens during the 2 year period that would have been covered under the warranty, we will cover it internally.2. Customer can have full refund of $1730.00 and the warranty is cancelled. Please advise !!Respectfully,Chris Mabry

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I accept the second choose of getting my money back that's what I have wanted from the beginning, I would like to have proof sent to me when the money is given back, they need to be the ones to make sure it is taken care, don't call me telling me im the one that has to call back and cancel it like u did last wk, you have me the warrenty u cancel it and send me proof that it is done. if that is all done and money is given back then I accept the second offer B

Review: I purchased a [redacted] from Majestic Auto Sales on 10/27/13. At the time of purchase the vehicle was having overheating issues. The owner of the dealership told me that he would fix them. He kept the car from 10/27/13 to 12/13/13. He told me on numerous occasions that the vehicle was fixed. He had the car almost seven weeks and swore to me that it was fixed. I picked it up on 12/13/13 and within four hours of having the car, the same overheating issue came back. The issue is that is has a busted head gasket. He guaranteed me that it was fixed and it was not. After inspecting the motor itself, my mechanic assured me that the motor had never been taken apart. The cost of replacing the head gaskets by my mechanic is $1,500 plus tax. After looking at the title of the vehicle, I have found that the car was never even registered in Majestic Auto Sales name. The previous owner is [redacted]. I thought it was common sales practice to title a vehicle in your company's name, before you sold it.Desired Settlement: I would like for the owner of Majestic Auto Sales to pay the cost of the head gasket replacement which is $1,500 plus tax.

Response:

On Sunday, October 27, 2013, [redacted] saw one of my cars on [redacted] and called me wanting to go to my dealership and take a look. Although we were not open, I called one of my employees to come in and accommodate him. He test drove a [redacted] (VIN [redacted]) and liked it but stated that the car was making a noise. We spoke over the phone and I agreed to return the next afternoon.

The following day, Monday, October 28, 2013, I found the problem to be the right front lower ball joint and spindle assembly and I promptly repaired it. [redacted] returned that afternoon, drove the car again, was satisfied with the repairs, signed the paperwork, took possession of the vehicle and left. Later that same day he called back saying the car had overheated on his way home. Previously, the car was driven approx. 40 miles to my shop after purchase and twice from my shop to King George and back (18 mile round trip) without any overheating issues.

As a courtesy to him I had the car towed back to my shop and spent considerable time replacing the radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, water pump and thermostat with new ones. [redacted] then called and said his mechanic told him that it could be the head gasket. I then took additional time to perform several diagnostic tests to check for a head gasket issue. I performed a cylinder head leakage test which showed the vehicle to only have a 10% leak in each cylinder and no pressure in the coolant system. I then used the [redacted] test instrument which uses dye to find carbon monoxide in the coolant system. These tests both had negative results. All of this was at no cost to [redacted]. He also asked us to put in a new [redacted] timing belt and had to replace all the cam shaft seals with new ones at his expense. We have yet to receive any monies for the requested repairs. We took the car on numerous test drives after the repairs were finished and never experienced an overheating problem. Satisfied that the car was fine, two of my employees drove 20 miles to meet [redacted] and deliver the vehicle. He again called to say that the vehicle overheated 4 hours into his trip.

On December 16, 2013 I spoke with [redacted] about the overheating issue he had returning home and I told him to bring the car back to me and I would repair the head gasket if that was the issue. Based on the fact that he never paid for the repairs he requested, I stated that he would have to pay for the parts and I would take care of the labor. He then stated that he was not paying for anything because he had a written warranty on the car which is untrue. As the owner of Majestic Auto Sales, I believe that I went above and beyond my duties as a dealer. All of my vehicles are sold "As Is/ No Warranty" which is clearly stated in the window of each car as well as on several purchase documents that [redacted] signed.

Also, the Commonwealth of Virginia does not require dealers to put titles in their name, hence the use of "reassignment of title" forms. This is also why [redacted] provides three dealer reassignment slots on the back of every Virginia title. [redacted] also asked us to leave the name on the back of the title blank because he was unsure if he was going to register the vehicle in Virginia or West Virginia or who's name he was going to register it in based on the amount of taxes he would have to pay.

Regarding the time frame in which [redacted] says it took to repair the car, it did not take seven weeks. During this time period he was attempting to negotiate a deal with me about financing a truck and a [redacted] for him. The deal subsequently fell through in the middle of November, 2013. On December 10, 2013, [redacted] was trying to buy a [redacted] (VIN [redacted]) van in West Virginia for a friend of his that lived in Fredericksburg and wanted me to finance it which I agreed to do.. [redacted] was going to drive the van to my dealership and pick up his vehicle. When that deal fell through because of engine issues, he then stated that he needed his car and we had to make arrangements to get it to him. He then became very unreasonable, sending several unnecessary text messages as well as one on Christmas Day that stated " I hope you (sic) enjoying Christmas you stoled (sic) from my little girl." I hope this letter resolves this issue as I pride myself on maintaining a stellar reputation in the community for over seven years and I do not feel that I owe the customer anything further.

Thank you,

Review: bought a 2006 Chev Colorado crewcab a year ago from Majestic. We noticed the underside of the truck was covered in mud, big chunks of mud. We asked about it, they blow it off. When we fist started paperwork, we had some concerns, we did let [redacted] know. and we explained, we were taking money out of my husband 401 to pay for the truck. The only thing they offered for us was to put on a hitch. Nothing more. I was told we could pick the truck up and give them a check which they would hold till the check cleared. We went to get the truck, was told the mud was washed off and nothing was wrong underneath the truck. All it was, was mud, everything else was fie. 2 days later, I get a call from my bank, Majestic deposited the check earlier then they were supposed to. They were to hold the check for 7 days to clear. Majestic trying to cash the check, made me have overdrafts on other checks I had processing at my bank, [redacted] Bank. I called Majestic, was told, lies, [redacted], tried to tell me, he said this or that about cashing the check, till I informed him, he was the one that stated he would hold the check, he was listening when the sales man was listening to me when I called and told them my bank called me. I couldn't get [redacted] to talk to me, when I finally got [redacted] to talk to me, he sated some lies, one was he talked to me,, when he didn't, he was in the back ground, telling the sales man what to say to me. A few other lies, he told me on the phone, which I called him out on them. At this point, we realized the passenger window wouldn't work, told [redacted], we ended up getting someone to put a new motor in the window, but to this day, the window still does not work. I ended up calling and talking to [redacted] and he sent me a ck to cover the over drafts fees of the checks I incurred. I took the truck yesterday for the inspection, and it failed, turned out there is a gas leak, I left the truck with the guy & his shop called me and told me the truck needs a new Fuel Pump Assembely. It would near $600.00 to fix it. The guy told me and my husband, that the one on the truck was so rusted, he had never seen one this bad and it's been rusted for a long, long time. Proves Majestic lied to us about the underneath of the truck. I called the head off of Majestic, [redacted] yesterday and [redacted] said I needed to talk to [redacted], that she was either on the phone or on the floor, and for me to leave a message, well, [redacted] calls me back about 20 minutes later and informs me [redacted] didn't even come into work yesterday, so [redacted] said she, [redacted] would call me back this morning, I called the [redacted] place back after not hearing from them, and told I need to talk to [redacted], after 3 transfers, I got 2 other people, but no [redacted], I told the 2nd guy, who did I need [redacted] or [redacted] he said [redacted], and I told the guy, I would be home for 30 minutes, have him call me, it's passed that and no phone call. I'm fed up with these people, no one wants to talk to me, no one knows what is going on with anyone, I don't want money, I want Majestic to see how they lied to us, and costing us money. As a sells man, he should be honest with us, not just tell us what he thinks we want to hear to make a sale. and when we bought the truck and left the lot, first thing we had to do was get gas or we would of had to push the truck home. One other issue we had, about day 25 of having our 30 day tags, we still didn't have our plates, I had called [redacted] a couple of times on this matter, finally got them at the end of the 30 days. At first I was told they were processing then told they were on their way to us, lies again, had to call about 2 more times. I don't think we should of had to be told lies and get the plates right as the 30 days ended.Desired Settlement: I want Majestic to admit they lied and cheated us. and fix what they lied to us about.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I had my final dealing with them on this subject matter. The company made good by buying back the truck at blue book value. We are very happy with the outcome and would even look at their trucks again. Thanks
