Majestic came to clean my carpet and apparently used recycled water as it left a horrible odor in it and they would not come back to rectify the issueI recently had my upholstery and carpet cleaned on 7/7/16 by [redacted] at Majestic Carpet Care. While he did a pretty good job on my upholstery, I was very dissatisfied with him on the carpet cleaning. I did not go into my bedroom until later that evening since the carpet was wet. When I did go in, I could not believe how bad the smell was. It smelled like a wet dog. I used to have a dog but my carpet never smelled like one. The odor got so bad I had to get my own carpet cleaner and try to clean it myself. The following day, I called [redacted] and told him it appeared that either his machine was dirty (he used a different machine than he used on the upholstery) or he used recycled water because the smell was terrible. He said that he would come over after he finished the job he was doing which would be in about an hour (it was around 2 pm). I had not heard from him by 4:30 pm so I called him again. He said he would be by around 6 pm. Once again, he did not show up. I finally received a call at 7:30 pm that evening during a rain storm that he could come by. Obviously, I did not want him dragging his wet equipment through my house during a storm so we made an appointment for the following day at 3 pm. I told him I had a previous commitment earlier and would not be home until then. He did not show up at 3 pm so once again, I called him. He said that he could not come until around 7 pm. I was very upset since we had made this appointment. During our conversation, he hung up on me. I tried to call back but it went to voice mail. I left him a message and asked for him to return the cost of the room cleaning as well as the tip by end of day but obviously I did not hear from him. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone else. I have now had to contact another carpet cleaner to come out and try to eliminate the odor. I may end up having to replace my 7 year old carpet if the odor does not come out.Desired SettlementI want to have a complaint on file but would like to have the cost of service and the gratuity refunded. The cost of service was $35 and the gratuity was $20.Business Response I am [redacted] the owner of Majestic Carpet & Upholstery Care. I was able to speak to Ms. [redacted] today as well as the technician[redacted]. After both conversations I have determined that Ms. [redacted] is entitled to a complete refund. I was unaware of the complaint until this morning when I received the letter in the mail from the Revdex.com that is the only reason the complaint wasn't taken care of sooner. Ms. [redacted] will receive a check for $55 a refund of the payment for service and gratuity given to the technician.
