Majestic Flooring, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: The primary reason for contacting Majestic Flooring was that our engineered hardwood floor was faded near doors and windows. [redacted], the owner, advised sanding and refinishing the wood. He also advised that our floor molding would require painting after the floor was refinished. His employees replaced several flooring strips on Monday, Sept. 22. Tuesday, they started sanding. Wednesday, they finished sanding, applied the stain and the first coat of sealer. I had serious concerns of the quality of the work. Thursday, I showed [redacted] uneven sanding, splotchy staining, and debris under the first coat of sealer. He said he would have his men address the problems. After more coats of sealer by Friday, I saw additional sealer applied over debris again, hence no improvement. My wife and I met with [redacted] in our home on Monday, Sept. 29 showing him areas of pooling sealant, swirling sanding scratches, flooring scraped & sanded against the grain, splotchy stain, and some areas appearing to have no sealer, and gouges in the wood. [redacted] said his men would return to hand sand areas in the floor and apply the final coat of polyurethane. They returned on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. They said all was done except replacing the quarter round. They did not remove any of the refinishers blue tape edging all of the flooring. The professional painters arrived on Thursday to get all of the painting done prior to the installation of the quarter round. A week later the quarter round was applied by [redacted]’s employees. The next afternoon we began removing the blue tape. We found the dining room carpet edge was adhered to the floor due to excessive polyurethane pooling, and there are gouges in the floor there as well... stain was also in the carpet. This scenario repeats itself at the edge of the living room and master bedroom. The wood flooring at the bathroom threshold is gouged; the marble threshold is gouged and stained. The area underneath the refrigerator was not sealed and there is pooling of sealant and polyurethane at the front edge of the refrigerator causing pronounced discoloration.Desired Settlement: Engineered flooring is a very thin layer of hardwood allowing for an extremely limited number of refinishings. This job has taken a toll on amount of wood left to work with in the future. Our possessions are still stacked in the garage (6 weeks). The carpet is damaged. We therefore request a new engineered floor and money to meet the expense of repairing (if possible) the damaged carpet. Also, we request monetary compensation to repaint the base molding, if needed, replace the quarter round, and the cost of moving the furnishings. Further research will be needed to determine who will replace the flooring.
