Majestic Motorsports & Fabrication, Inc. Reviews (7)

If it was possible to give a negative rating that would have been my score; however to log a review you have to enter at least 1 star which far higher than this business deserves.
Like other ratings on this board, you should be very wary and do your homework before considering this place. Majestic Motorsports is not a trustworthy outfit and they use very deceptive and unethical business practices. Such as refusing to let you validate if the work has been completed satisfactory prior to paying and taking possession of your vehicle. I can’t speak for their fabrication services but if you require complex performance or engine work this is the shop to avoid. They had my car for over six months, made great promises of quality of work and expertise with LS engine upgrades. Not only did I have to continue to reintroduce myself to them when I called for progress updates (every 2-3 weeks), unless I called them, I never heard from them on status. However, this changed when after 6 months they called and demanded that I pick the car up immediately because it was ready. The problem with immediately is that they knew I was out of state and would need reasonable lead time to pick the car up. They informed me that if I did not pick the car up immediately, they would start charging me daily storage fees until the car was picked up. When I finally made it in to pickup the car I asked to test drive the car and to confirm that work was done and the car was ready to go. They refused and told me that I would not be able to get the car until I paid in full. After several minutes of fruitless debates and alternatives of having one of their technicians accompany me on the test drive, the only way I was going to get my car back was to meet their extortion terms. Upon getting in the car, starting it up, I barely got out of their driveway, there is this horrible noise coming from the engine. I did an immediate U-turn and asked them to address the issue and they told me they could not without me opening a new work order. Additionally, they told me the noise I was hearing was common clutch chatter, which I informed them that was not the case; for I was very familiar with clutch chatter. In the end I knew I was not going to get anywhere with them and after paying thousands of dollars for engine work, I had to find another reputable shop who diagnosed the problem and found significant workmanship/quality issues (engine failure not a clutch issue) caused by Majestic that had to be corrected with me kicking out thousands again. So that you don’t have to endure such a nightmare and costly lesson, learn from my experience and the other post that reported similar behavior; avoid Majestic Motorsports!

Terrible service and customer care.I took a pipe in to the store in order for them to make a nee one based on the old one. They told me it would take about a month to make and that they would call me when it was done. I waited a few weeks and then called them to check on the progress. They told me that they needed a few more weeks, as they were waiting on a part in order to finish my pipe. I called once a week since and have been given the same run around story since and today I called about it and they told me that they threw out my original pipe and never made one. So now I have to try and figure out how to make another one and get someone compitent to make it. Desired SettlementI want my pipe replaced. They threw out my original one. They never even called me to ask if I wanted it back or to tell me they couldn't make me one. They just tossed it and hoped I wouldn'tcall back . Business Response /[redacted]/While I understand your frustration, this is all self-induced. I've reviewed the work order and its dated 10/1/2013 with an unpaid amount of 150.13. No work was performed as there was no payment made and you didn't want to do any of the given options to complete the work. There were many options that were provided, but you declined. First the couplings and piping you provided were useless and we explained that what you wanted duplicated couldn't be done without the car present. You stated the car doesn't run and we offered to tow the car here, you declined that as well. Meanwhile these parts were left here for an excessive amount of time (almost 4 months). Our policy states (outlined on your work order) anything left beyond 48 hours, will be disposed. On a lighter note this pipe can still be made and we are willing to do a pipe for you at a discount rate, but the car will need to be present in order to do the job.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I was never given a work order and I was told I would pay upon completion of the job by your staff. At no point did the company contact me, I called and got the same excuse everytime . If I would have gotten an honest reply up front about how the pipe couldn't have been made there I would have came and picked it up. Instead I got the same run around excuse until last weekend. I will not trust my car to people who do business that way. I already ordered all new piping to make another prototype and will be having someone else make it. Final Business Response /[redacted]/Again if you were concerned about this pipe you would not have abandoned it for 4 months. As we said before, the car is needed to do this job correctly here or anywhere else.

Quick, professional, clean, intelligent, and will do quality work every time! I have been there twice and never had a problem. The work was done the same day, they even stayed after working hours because I live two hours away to get me home at night. Pricing is fair but is a little higher but is worth it for the speed and quality! Main word quality. Majestic Motorsports is showroom quality from there vehicles, the shop, and attitudes of the employees are top notch! I will always go back to Majestic they have earn my trust.

We turned our truck in to them in Aug of 2013. They told us maybe a couple months to repair, it is going on 8 months and still not ready. Our truck had a major engine failure in Aug 2013, my husband took the truck to Majestic for the repairs. The only reason my husband takes our truck to Majestic is because they are the only place that offers a DYNO tune. My husband purchased all the parts himself and provided them to Majestic no later than Nov 2013, they told us the engine could be repaired but had to be sent to a machinist to have the engine bored out. Which we learned in Feb of 2014 that the machinist was in Fayetteville, NC (why they sent it so far away is also concerning) After several months they told us it should be ready by Dec 2013. That month came and gone without our truck being done, there were several conversations back and fourth about timeline. The timeline kept getting pushed back because the machinist wasn't finished. I called sometime in early March and was told by the person who answered the phone ([redacted] or [redacted]) that the engine was ready for them to pick it up from Feyetteville, so they could put the truck back together but 3 weeks later was told that I was misinformed that the engine was still not ready. We have been understanding to a point but after they got our engine back (May 2, 2014) they still did not put this at the top of their priority, they've officially had our engine in their possession for 2 weeks and it's still not ready for pick up. I was told by them it would take a matter of days once they got the engine to put it together and return it to us, further, after they had our engine for a week I had went there to see their progress; my engine was sitting on a pallet and the truck had not appeared to have been moved from a dirt parking lot in months. When I went there they said they had started to put things together but couldn't find a part I know we ordered and had shipped to them (torque converter) Why they didn't call when they couldn't find it also upsets me, and I think if I had not gone there it would have sat even longer. I feel part of this delay is because they knew my husband was deployed all the time they've had our truck which in my opinion is why they have not rushed to repair it. But non-the-less is no excuse. They've made several excuses blaming the machinist they sent it to but have not made any attempt to make it right for us. As well as all communication has been myself calling or visiting them to check the status they've never called us to inform or apologize on the timeline and or repair status. Desired SettlementSome compensation in lowering the repair cost, or billing their machinist for the long delays, I don't feel like we should have to pay full repairs on something that should never have taken as long as it did. And if they are not able to provide a monetary compensation, other services should be offered to us. Business Response /[redacted]/Mrs. [redacted],As we understand your frustration, please understand that some things are beyond our control, in particular machine shop progress and parts delayed. In this particular case there are both. You stated that you dropped the truck off in August, but you fail to mention that the parts needed to start the machine shop work were not dropped off by you until December 7th. While waiting on these parts other projects have since come in, so the vehicle was pushed back. Once we started and had the engine parts delivered to the machine shop, it becomes a waiting game. As for taking it to a Fayetteville Machinist, there are multiple. 1. He is an avid MOPAR builder and racer. 2. Given all machine shops were busy this seemed like the best choice. 3. Has built other Mopar engines for us in the past. Regarding build timelines and delays, as much as we want to meet customers "requested" timelines, sometimes they are unrealistic or unable to be met due to wrong parts (engine had wrong rockers and push rods and rotating assembly is internally balanced which requires more parts), additional parts needed that are on back order, damaged parts from prior engine or install, and machine shop delays that we have no control over. You also mention that you were never called, untrue statement as all this is documented. We have dates recorded each time we communicated with you.At this point your engine is in the truck and the additional parts are ordered. If you want to proceed, please advise.

They do NOT stand behind their mistakes, they did not reassemble my motor correctly which was verified by several FACTORY trained technicians, when confronted the owner [redacted] said he didn't make any money off of the deal and ran and hid in his office while his incompetent employees did nothing as well. They don't do their own machine work and the company they used is useless as well. I warn everyone who will listen to STAY AWAY!! If you look on some of the local FB pages you will see others who have been treated unfairly by them, they take advantage of Marines that come and go.

Has had car 7months told finished drove 500 + miles not complete refuses to finish jobMy husband has had his car in the shop now for 7 months. We have been getting the run around as to when it would be completed. Had to move to CO in September and job still wasn't complete. Was told it would finally be done today so we drove all the way only to discover the car was no where near complete. My husband demanded to know why we were lied to and were then told, by an unruly mechanic, that they now refused to finish the job we have been paying them for. We are now out thousands of dollars, seven months of our time. The money it took to get there and the money it's going to take to finish the job we paid them to do.Desired SettlementWe want to have a partial refund for the time, the ridiculous amount of effort this room to even get the vehicle this far! And a partial refund for not completing the job they were hired and paid to do.Business Response /[redacted]/We have worked this out and awaiting for Mr. [redacted] to close this complaint. We have provided facts to him and agreed to finish the truck once payment was made. Mr. [redacted] is happy with the work Consumer Response /[redacted]/complaint resolved. Final Consumer Response

Two issues. An issue believed to be a vacuum leak was identified by tech but work continued. Final "tune" was not provided and pass-code not given.First issue, the technician identified what he believed was a vacuum leak and continued to perform a "tune" of the vehicle regardless. Vendor says a check of the vehicle is done to ensure that it is safe to continue before the "tune" is completed, but that was ignored. When the tune was completed, the issue (believed to be a vacuum leak) was brought to my attention, but the job was already completed.Second issue, the service requested/paid for was a "dyno tune" of the vehicle (a configuration change to the vehicles computer). The car was delivered with a base map provided by the hardware vendor Haltech that would allow for a stock vehicle to run without issue. The business was to put the car on a dyno and make modifications to the base settings to account for changes to the vehicle and allow for more power. Despite the fact that the car does not function properly afterwards, the merchant has password protected the final configuration and has declined to provide the configuration and/or the password to me. Because the base map is property of Haltech (and was provided by them by default) and there are only settings that are adjusted by the shop, this does not qualify as intellectual property owned by Majestic Motorsports. The service paid for is the completion of this configuration and thus ownership of that goes to the person paying which is myself. I contacted the hardware vendor Haltech via email and was told to request the password from Majestic Motorsports, forwarded the email to them so they could see it (as they told me the hardware vendor wouldn't suggest me asking for it) and was still denied the information. The solution provided by Majestic Motorsports is to transport the vehicle back to the location (114 miles) at my expense and allow them to diagnose/fix whatever the original problem was. Also, they continue to decline to provide the configuration and password put on the device.Desired SettlementMy original thought was that Majestic Motorsports would transport the vehicle back to their shop (at own expense) and provide the diagnostic work needed to isolate the issue and provide a solution. Once identified, I would have been willing to pay for the repair and then they re-tune the vehicle "free" as it should have been done the first time. When completed and the car verified working as expected, the car returned to my possession with the new configuration file and either no pass-code set or the pass-code provided to me.In speaking with [redacted] from the location, this is not an option and only arguments (despite proof) ensued.. I believe a refund of funds paid for previous work is the only path forward here.Business Response Mr. [redacted] was given the option to bring the car back to determine what problems he was having. We did repair some of the wiring and vacuum routing that was done wrong in order to get the car running and on the dyno, however Mr. [redacted] declined to pressure leak test for boost problems. Mr. [redacted] was made aware that there is likely a leak, but he declined. We did finish the tune on the car as he stated. He paid us for the tune and work and left the shop happy with the numbers from they dyno. He later called after arriving home asking to receive the password to the tune file. What Mr. [redacted] doesn't understand is he paid for the tune that is currently on the car, NOT the password to the file itself. The password is so file cannot be changed, which is the industry standard. He was explained that prior to leaving. As for looking the car over , we offered to go pick it up, he refused. We have already explained that we can't help him IF there is an issue with the car mechanically without seeing it. He refuses to bring it back or let us take a look, which leads us to believe there is nothing wrong with the car. Mr. [redacted] paid us for a locked calibration tune, which he received. Access to adjust or change that tune was never an option. Consumer Response The response from the merchant is misleading and false. In regards to the password setting, while the hardware vendor (Haltech) has made it possible to set a password on the file, they believe that the owner of the hardware should be provided it. Specific to this, I reached out to Haltech directly and received a resposne to "just call the tuner (Majestic Motorsports) and ask for the password". In speaking with [redacted] on the phone, his response was "I spoke to the Haltech representative you spoke to and he wouldn't say that"... I forwarded the email from the Haltech representative to [redacted] for him to read and in 2 different places (in the same email) it says "call the tuner and ask for the password"... [redacted] read the email out loud on the phone but he continues to refuse to unlock the map or provide the password. Again, making a modification to an existing published configuration/tune is not intellectual property, this shows the intention of the shop to attempt to "lock" you into returning to them for future business. As for returning the car to the shop. There was no offer made to come and pick the car up by [redacted]/Majestic Motorsports for free. The request was for me to get the car there for them to look and they would "come get the car themselves if they had too".. There was no mention that this would be free of charge as he tries to elude to above. For the piece about me declining any additional work to be done. Within 14 minutes of my car being on-site, I was called and told that the accessory sensors needed for Haltech to function needed to be wired in and I would need to pay for 3 hours of labor. What is wrong here is that the sensors were already wired in before the vehicle arrived on-site so this to me says "there is some issue and a guess was taken for what was needed without any basic checks being done". There was separate work done: existing vacuum lines to the boost control solenoid swapped, existing vacuum lines to the boost controller swapped, and a wire ran from the main harness to the Haltech harness less than 3 feet away; none of this is what I was told I was being charged 3 hours for and this all should have taken 1 hour (or 2 to allow for unknowns). I paid for that work separately and am not requesting a refund for that portion. What it did do was show that there is no basis behind the shops charges. Again, specific to the vacuum leak, the logic for why they think there is a vacuum leak was "the only time I have seen something like this is when there was a vacuum leak somewhere.. want us to test for that?" No thank you. I have a boost leak tester from Z1 Motorsports (can provide receipt and/or pictures of it) and can test for that but there was no leak before it arrived on-site so there should be no leak now.To say I was happy when I left was an understatement. I was "happy" that they increased the power output of the car from 396HP to 467HP after I questioned the results of the first tune. I have seen similar cars with the same setup get over 500HP but understand not wanting to push the car to its limits/over stress the motor so going a little lower may allow for a longer engine life. I argued/debated the password being set on the map while in the shop and that was left at "agree to disagree" because the car supposedly worked without issue; it was said to be "perfect on the dyno". You cannot modify an existing freely available Haltech configuration and then call it your own. You cannot tell the owner of something that you are doing something "for the car's/shop's protection" when you do not own the hardware; that is not your place to do so. My request again is to refund the costs of the dyno fee as I do not see any progress being made with this shop/manager. Final Business Response Mr. [redacted] was explained that we would be willing to come pick up the car, he refused and stated he doesn't want to bring it back. Leads us to believe there is nothing wrong with the car.As for his computer, it isn't locked. As I've stated to Mr. [redacted] over and over, it isn't locked. The "file" we configured and loaded on the car per his request is locked. He can change ANYTHING he wants with the ECU except the file he paid us to make. His argument is that he should be able to manipulate the file we made as he chooses, which isn't what he paid us to do, nor EVER discussed as an option prior or during the tune session. He paid us to provide a configuration file or MAP on the car and put the car on the dyno to get the results we provided. He can make as many configuration files or "maps" that wants and load the car as he chooses.
